About: I have been taking care of dogs for 10 years, whether mine or those belonging to family. I have trained puppies as well as taken care of my dogs that have reached their golden years, and helped them over the rainbow bridge. My top two priorities are communication and safety. Any need you have regarding your pet is of utmost importance because pets aren’t just animals - they’re family! I have two dogs at home, one is 1 1/2 years old and the other is nearly 4. We walk 3 times daily, as well as plenty of enrichment time inside. Enrichment depends on the day, it can be playing with toys, eating treats from snuffle mats, lick mats, or just running around with them until they’re as tired as I am! Safety is my biggest priority. I follow instructions very carefully, I keep a close eye on your fur babies both in the house and outside. I can send real time updates that way you know exactly what is going on at all times, and I will always make sure to ask questions when needed. I can recreate your pets routine as closely as possible, and I will always bring positive energy!

About: "Looking for a sitter who truly speaks animal? I have spent my entire life caring for an incredible variety of pets, giving me the unique skills needed to handle almost any animal family. My experience includes giant dog breeds (English Mastiffs and Great Pyrenees), livestock (horses, chickens, and goat herds), and exotic reptiles. Today, I am a proud parent to a cat and two Holland Lop rabbits! Because I have lived alongside animals my whole life, I excel at reading their body language, vocal cues, and unique personalities. I am ready to provide a premium, loving, and safe environment for your babies!" I'm newly a father and am currently on paid family leave, and am available most days. My daily routine includes waking around 3am and getting the day started. I have several 2 hour blocks of time throughout my day that are not currently filled with any activities, perfect for caring for your pets! In My Home (Cat & Rabbit Friendly): Separate Zones: I maintain dedicated, safe zones for my resident cat and two Holland Lop rabbits to prevent stress. Exotic-Safe Space: My home environment is calm, secure, and adapted to handle specialized pet needs without disruption. Escorted Outdoor Time: Any outdoor access is strictly supervised within secure boundaries. In your home: Home Security: I strictly follow your home entry, locking, and alarm instructions to ensure property safety. Zero-Trace Care: I leave your home exactly as I found it, or better, cleaning up all pet waste immediately. Consistency: I mimic your exact feeding, walking, and crating schedules to minimize your pet's separation anxiety. Communication Expert: My lifetime of experience with giant breeds, livestock, and exotics means I actively read body language to prevent stress or conflict, and can quickly soothe an agitated pet. Daily Updates: I send frequent text and photo updates so you know your pets are safe, happy, and thriving. Emergency Ready: I keep your preferred vet information on hand and maintain a clear action plan for urgent situations, prioritizing your pets health above all else!

About: I have always had a pet in the home, from fish to dogs! Pets are an amazing part of our families and deserve the special care and attention that our own human children have from us as parents. That’s why every four-legged visitor in my home receives the 5-star resort experience. Let me know what I can do for you and your furry friends today! I usually work from 9-5 on most weekdays approximately 5 minutes from home. That gives me the flexibility to check in on your pet throughout the day. About: I’ve cared for dogs of every kind since I was young, and I truly love to spoil animals. I work remotely with flexible hours, which allows me to easily fit pet care into my daily routine. I’m available weekdays and Saturdays, with Sundays unavailable. Since I can work from anywhere, I’m even able to work at your home with your pets if that makes them feel more comfortable. This flexibility means your pets will get plenty of attention, walks, and cuddles throughout the day while still keeping to their regular routine. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’ll care for them in their own familiar environment, helping them feel secure and at ease while you’re away. I’m also very quick with communication, keeping you updated so you always have peace of mind. I take time to get to know each pet and always follow your instructions carefully. You can trust that I’ll treat both your pets and your home with the same care and respect I give my own.

“Lisa is AMAZING! Bane and her clicked right off the bat. He enjoys his walks and the love she gives him while I am away at work. She is number one in my book and I couldn’t ask for a better person to watch my baby boy. I highly recommend her for any service you may need.”

“Paige was a huge help with our dogs (German Shepherd and Chihuahua). Our usual walker was on vacation and Paige came highly recommended by our usual dog walker. She was very flexible with our dog walking budget and made me feel very comfortable. Paige exceeded expectations and the dogs loved her.”
About: Hi! I’m someone who has been around animals since the day I was born, and caring for pets has always been a huge part of my life. I’ve owned and cared for over 15 different dog breeds ranging from tiny Chihuahuas to large breeds like Rottweilers, so I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I’ve also had cats my entire life, giving me plenty of experience caring for feline friends as well. I currently have a dog of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pet like family. As a nurse, I work three days a week, which gives me flexibility and plenty of free time on my days off. I love spending that time outside, going on walks, and staying active — which makes dog walking and pet care something I genuinely enjoy! I’m also comfortable administering basic medications including ear drops, eye drops, allergy medications, and other routine pet care needs. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or just someone calm and caring to keep them company, I’d love to help make them feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away! I currently work 3 12 hour shifts. My days change each week and sometimes i work days, sometimes i work nights. So my schedule is pretty flexible being i’m off 4 days of the week. If i need to take care of your fur baby, i will always make sure i follow the directions given to me. if there’s a gate that needs to be closed, pee pads that need to be laid down, or fed. Caring for them is my biggest priority. I can share photos/videos with you as well to show the love i’m giving to them :)

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Southern Gateway
Such a wonderful person to have watch our senior baby. We had a worry-free vacation knowing that such a caring soul was looking after Hans and meeting his needs each walk, no matter how particular and stubborn he can be. We genuinely looked forward to each walk summary. I personally think you could blog these interactions! Thank you so much. 🐾

Cheyenne is an absolute pro! She replied promptly to my dog walking request and was able to quickly set up a meet & greet. She was very patient with my dog, who had never had a “stranger” as a dog walker/sitter and was able to successfully walk him on their first one-on-one despite his anxiety. She kept me up to date on her arrival times and almost immediately sent my dog’s report card out after his walks. After only a couple of days, my dog really warmed up to her, wanting her to stay and play. I’m glad I was able to find someone who’s obviously great with animals but is also trustworthy and professional!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
