Availability
I work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and am currently on telework, so my weekly availability is early morning, and late afternoon. I also volunteer at the Old Dominion Humaine Society and occasionally foster for them at my house.

Safety, trust & environment
I have one <1 year old puppy, and I have a home with a large yard but no fence. That means all foster dogs get leash walked always and there are many mind teaser toys for rainy days. I feed in crates and make it a safe space for them to decompress.
Information Sam B. would like to know about your pet
A list of command words is preferred, but if you would like me to provide tips or teach them small commands on a regular basis, that service can be provided. When it comes to aggressive dogs, I prefer it if you are actively working with a trainer. Each dog has different triggers and needs, so I would like to chat about those before meeting the special babe. I do not like to feed animals anything that they are not used to. I prefer to use praise as a reward, but if you want to use treats to reward certain behavior, I will follow your usual patterns, no problem.
A typical day
I can do just about anything. If you would like me to take them swimming, kayaking, hiking, or just to the dog park or around the neighborhood. All services can be provided.

Pet care experience
Hi there! My name is Sam and I have experience sitting for all types of animals. From cuddly Pyrenees, and scary-smart German pinschers, to spunky chinchillas, their best cat friends, and curious pythons. I have been through partial behavioral training for dogs (and their humans), and have experience with animal hospice situations, as well as behaviorally aggressive dogs. I prefer to keep the animal's care as consistent as possible. The more details you have of your preferred method of walking, reward, or preparation habits, the better. Trust and care are my number one goals when it comes to animal sitting. Not just with the four legged babies, but with the parents as well. I know how important it is to feel comfortable with your care provider, and what a treat it is to know that you can trust someone with the care of your loved ones. Also, aren't dogs just perfect?
Reviews

Sam is a dog whisperer. I had a funeral to attend and I never had to worry about my fur baby. My dog has arthritis and he is 10 but she took exceptionally great care of him.

Roger had a great time with Sam! He came home clean and tired. Roger is large and strong-willed; not everyone's cup of tea. But Sam is able to reinforce his training, hold boundaries, and get him plenty of exercise. Highly recommend!
Sam is the absolute best sitter! She is auntie to my dogs and is family to us. She is dependable, caring, kind and treats your fur children like her own. You will never wonder if your fur baby is being taken care of perfectly. My fur children are excited every time they see her! Do not hesitate to hire Sam for all of your fur-baby needs.
