“Pam was really sweet to Jubilee and super accommodating last minute. Very much appreciate Pam as a sitter and all the updates she provides throughout the day. Will definitely use her again!”

“Julissa took my reservation at the last minute! She was very nice and welcoming to my fur baby Lola. She is conveniently located under 10 minutes away from the Edison station which made it easy. I would recommend Julissa!”
“I'm retired, so my dog is with me most of the time and I've only left her on her own for short periods. I needed to leave her for several hours, so I was looking for a sitter to take care of her during my absence. I found Erin on Rover and all her reviews were 5 star and spoke highly of her. Plus, she was only a short car ride away. We had our meet and greet and Erin was everything and more that her reviews claimed, so I booked with her. My dog had the time of her life during her stay with Erin! Erin took my dog with her when she went to drop off and later pick up her daughter at the school bus stop and my dog, who loves people, was in her element meeting all the other kids and their parents. My dog spent the rest of the day playing with Erin's too-young-for-school son, who did a great job tiring my dog out and she slept all the way on the car ride home! Erin, her husband Nicholas and their two young children treated my dog just like she was their own and took wonderful care of her. I highly recommend Erin.”

“Myah had a great time at Jamie's playing with Ollie! This was her first time and she was excited to be going when we pulled in the driveway. She came home very happy and tired!”

“Luciana was absolutely wonderful with Bheem and Bhairav! She was incredibly accommodating, especially since my request was last minute, and took such great care of them throughout the day. She even gave them a little pedicure, took them on walks, and regularly shared pictures and updates, which gave me complete peace of mind. Both dogs looked super comfortable, happy, and clearly enjoyed their day with her. Highly recommend Luciana ... reliable, caring, and genuinely great with dogs!”

“Buster has come to Alice’s house MANY times and he always has a good time! Communication with Alice is always smooth and I am really thankful she and her family takes great care of Buster!”

“I can’t express enough how wonderful Sara was with our little Peanut. I had come to grips with the fact that I probably won’t be able to go anywhere this summer because I didn’t want to take my dog somewhere where they would crate her or where she would be with a bunch of other dogs until I found Sara. She was absolutely wonderful and she treated her like one of the family. She only takes one dog or one household of pets at a time which makes me feel even more comfortable. My puppy absolutely adored her and her family and so did I! Thank you Sara for all your did. I know you will see Peanut every time we are away or even just out for the day like we did today.”

“It was our first time using Rover, so we were a bit nervous at first, but that quickly changed once we met Evgenii. Our dog seemed to become friends with him right away! He kept us updated throughout the stay, which gave us great peace of mind. We would absolutely book with Evgenii again whenever we are in the neighborhood.”

“Suna provided outstanding and loving care to Buddy while he was with her. Buddy enjoyed going to her home every day and playing with her sweet Maltese, Mimi. The two dogs became forever friends! Suna communicated with us daily, providing text and photo updates, clearly indicating that Buddy was well taken care of during his time with her. I highly recommend Suna if you're looking for someone who will go the extra mile to insure that your beloved pet is safe and happy, whether for overnight stays or daytime care.”

About: Hi! We are a couple who truly love animals and enjoy sharing our daily lives with happy, well-cared-for pets. For us, this is more than just a service—it’s an experience. We want your pet to feel at home, safe, loved, and well accompanied. We enjoy spending time with animals, playing with them, and making sure their days are fun and relaxed. We understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, which is why we are committed to providing responsible, loving, and dedicated care For the past 8 years, we’ve been the go-to dog sitters for our family and friends whenever vacation time rolls around. We truly enjoy spending time with their pets and making sure they feel happy, safe, and loved—so much so, it never feels like a job, just a lot of tail wags and good company. 👩💻 I work from home 1–2 days a week, and my husband works remotely full-time, which allows us to be present and attentive most of the day. 🐶 Your pet will be part of our daily routine, receiving personalized attention, constant companionship, and lots of love. We would be happy to care for your best friend as if they were our own! 💛 🏡 We don’t have children, and we live in a spacious home with a large, fully fenced backyard—perfect for your pet to play safely and freely.

“My 4 month old puppy had a great time in Laraine’s house! She was careful to consider the temperaments of the dogs she’d have over before recommending he come, and she made notes of all his needs. Her family, including her two dogs, are so sweet. Pepper can be anxious and I was so glad to find an environment where he could be comfortable. Thank you!”

About: I have 7 years experience taking care of my own 80 lb Greyhound, Chloe. Unfortunately, we lost her to bone cancer a few years ago. We have 2 kids who absolutely love dogs and we're ready to love a few more pets! We only care for one dog at a time so your pup can get all the attention they deserve! Since we watch one dog at a time, you won't need to worry about your dog being around any other unfamiliar dogs during the stay. We are located 36 minutes from Newark Airport. Your dog will be in the best care while you are away! With someone home 24 hours a day, your dog will never be alone. While I do have a fenced in yard, I still believe walks are important for every dog. Boarding and doggy daycare options are available during the week and throughout the weekend. Medication administration is also available for your dog. My husband and I work opposite schedules. I'm currently working part-time, but my husband is home when I'm at work, so your pup will be cared for around the clock! Boarding and doggy daycare are available daily. I have a fenced in yard for pups to run around. I can also crate your dog at night or when specified. I can care for your pup however you see fit, including following specific feeding schedules or medication schedules.
“Lineth is a great sitter. We left Pie with Lineth for the day and she took really good care of him. Usually Pie takes a lot of time to adjust to a new person but Lineth was able to bond with him quite quickly. That's a testament to her skills. Next time we need a sitter for Pie in NJ, we will definitely reach out to Lineth. Also Lineth was wonderful at keeping us updated. Even though Pie was with her for a few hours, we got regular pictures and texts. Fantastic experience overall.”

About: I know how much pets mean to their families. I am a pet parent too. I understand the anxiety we all feel while boarding our fur babies. When your furry friend/baby stays with me, I make sure they feel safe, loved, and part of the family. Whether it’s sticking to their routine, giving them their favorite treat, or extra cuddles when they’re missing you, I make their comfort my priority. I have hands-on experience providing safe, reliable, and loving care ensuring they feel at home even when their family is away. Over the years, I’ve cared for pets of different breeds, ages, and temperaments—covering everything from daily feeding and exercise to giving medications and keeping them calm in new environments. Why families trust me: I care for each pet as if they were my own. I keep their routine consistent, so they feel at home. I’m patient and gentle with pets that are shy, or need extra attention. I send updates, photos, and videos so you always know how your pet is doing. Most importantly—I give them the love, play, and companionship they deserve. We have comfortable living space, big fenced back yard for them to run, play fetch or just outdoor supervised play time. Also I am available to take them on walks. Socialization opportunity- We have a very friendly labradoodle, visiting friends have the chance to socialize, play and engage in positive interactions with another well behaved dogs. We have multiple gates, if required they will be separated during meal times. They are allowed to sleep on our couch, in our bedroom as well. You are welcome to bring anything like bedding or their favorite toys, blankets if that will make them more comfortable. Before first visit we will have meet and greet in my backyard, to be sure everyone gets along well. In all they will get lots of love, care, play time and of course lots of cuddles. I am currently working part time with flexible schedule, so pretty much open to work around your drop off and pick up time. I do go out for school picks up and drop off which is quick or to run some errands and appointments but just for couple of hours and I do have cameras on the pups. We have a fenced yard and one very friendly fur baby to keep your baby safe and have fun. I have multiple gates too, which can ne used to separate them if needed

Barbora is always a delight and the best! I know if my Roxie could speak she would request to go to her everyday! Barbora makes Roxie feel so comfortable and happy, while also giving us peace of mind that Roxie is with someone who is safe and caring about her well being! If you need a dog sitter who you can trust and your dog will be happy with look no further then Barbora!

I would highly recommend Harleny for doggy day care. My pet instantly connected with her, and she made sure he was comfortable throughout his stay. She shared photos and videos of my pet every couple of hours and patiently listened to all of our requests and concerns. I will definitely use her services many more times in the future. Best regards,
Megan is beyond words amazing. She looked after our pupper, and we could not ask for anyone better. We honestly wished she lived closer to us so we could use her more often. We dropped our older arthritic boy off with her for a few hours while we attended an appointment close by. Without having met her before, our dog was instantly comfortable with her. In a few hours, he was in love. She took perfect care of him, having water ready when we arrived and going above and beyond to make him comfortable. Very much appreciate that she has an "intake" where she asks pertinent useful questions and communicates with us about what's best for the dog while he is in her care. She sends copious amounts of photos (love it) and communicates while we are out to let us know how he is doing. I cannot recommend Megan enough. Top notch person and dogsitter.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your South River commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
