“Alice is great with my special needs senior dog Porter. He is happy every time he sees her, and she is very responsible with catering to his special needs, allergies and medical conditions. She is very communicative and lets me know any changes observed in Porter during his stay, plus sends cute pictures regularly. I trust her with my deaf/blind senior completely.”

“Myah had a great time at Jamie's playing with Ollie! This was her first time and she was excited to be going when we pulled in the driveway. She came home very happy and tired!”

“Lupe is fantastic!! He is so good with our pup and we feel so grateful to have found him!! He is so friendly and welcoming. He goes above and beyond to make sure all of our dog’s needs are met. We had an emergency and he was super accommodating and made sure that our dog was in good hands. He has an awesome large yard that our dog loves to run in. Highly recommend!”

“Barbara is great! I have an 8 week old Labrador retriever, full of puppy energy and I was very carefully vetting someone I felt could handle him with authentic love and care but who also understands dogs in all stages of their lives. After reading about Barbara and her experience and love for animals my gut told me she was the right choice. I was right! She was accommodating, punctual, friendly, kept me updated throughout the day & took pictures which made me feel at ease knowing he was thriving in her care. She has a beautiful yard which is a huge plus cause I know my boy got some good fun & exercise. Will definitely rebook :)!”
“Lineth was very good with Nova. You could easily tell how much she loves dogs immediately. She sent pictures and gave me feedback on how she was doing throughout the time Nova was there. From the pictures she sent, looked like my golden doodle got very comfortable with her - sitting on her lap, laying on top of her, following her around, etc. Lineth even went out with her in her fenced in backyard despite the crazy, artic cold. Looking forward to having her watch Nova again when the weather is in at the least the double digits!”

“Jinjie was an incredible sitter for our puppy Clover! Our pup can be a bit nervous at first so she ensured we had a meet up prior to the stay and did a great job at making Clover feel comfortable! Our puppy also loved her cat and dog! Would highly highly recommend Jinjie (:”

About: I have a deep love for all animals and years of personal experience caring for pets. I am a proud owner of a friendly small dog, and I also have beautiful Lovebirds, Parakeets, and a peaceful fish aquarium at home, making my space full of life and care. I completely understand the daily routines, love, and attention that pets need. Since I work from home, my environment is safe, welcoming, and smoke-free, where your furry family member will receive non-stop attention, regular potty breaks, and a welcoming playmate! I love going for daily walks and ensuring pets stay happy and active. I promise to treat your pet with the same love, care, and respect as if they were my own! I manage my schedule beautifully, which means I am almost always at home to care for the pets. I can easily adjust my daily routine to match your pet's feeding, walking, and playtime needs. Whether it is a weekday or a weekend, your furry family member will receive constant attention, love, and timely potty breaks throughout their entire stay with me. Safety is my absolute top priority. My home is a clean, smoke-free, and welcoming environment. I have a friendly small dog to keep your pet company, and all guest pets are closely supervised during playtime. I strictly follow all owner instructions regarding crating, feeding, and medical needs. I also make sure my pet birds and aquarium are kept securely out of reach to ensure a stress-free and peaceful stay for everyone.

Kajal made sure she sent us pictures and videos and kept us upto date with him. I know Romeo was in good and trusted hands and would definitely leave Romeo with her in the future.”

About: I have over 6 years of hands-on experience caring for a 60 lb Labrador Retriever, whom I raised from puppyhood. During that time, I learned how to understand dog behavior, body language, exercise needs, and daily routines at every stage of life. I also have experience caring for cats and understand that every pet has its own unique personality. I take the time to build trust, whether a pet is playful, shy, or needs extra patience. Although I no longer have my Labrador, the experience gave me a strong foundation in responsible pet care. I treat every pet as if they were my own, following each owner’s instructions carefully to ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m a faculty at Rutgers, and most of my teaching is online, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend a lot of time at home. This makes it easy for me to provide pets with regular attention, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. I plan my schedule to ensure every pet in my care receives consistent supervision and the care they need. I live in a clean, pet-friendly two-bedroom apartment near downtown New Brunswick. I make sure pets have a safe, comfortable, and calm environment where they can relax and feel at home. I follow each pet’s regular routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions provided by the owner. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and maintain the pet’s normal routine to help reduce stress. I provide plenty of attention, exercise, affection, and regular updates with photos so owners can feel confident that their pets are safe and well cared for.

“Laraine is super flexible, friendly and easy to work with, and very intuitive and understanding with your dog! She is experienced with different breeds and very knowledgeable about common (and uncommon) behaviors, and I really appreciated her attention to my Charlie!”

“We needed a sitter last-minute, & were lucky to find Dhruvit. He’s a very nice guy with an entire house & yard that our dog got to enjoy. When we arrived, the sitters’ mother was also there, & both of them were so sweet with Diego! We immediately felt comfortable leaving him in their care. When we picked up Diego, he looked like he had a great day (with some sitters, we can tell he feels anxious to leave, but he was completely comfortable with them). The sitter gave snacks per instructions & provided pics throughout the stay, plus took the time to provide a quick summary at pick up. Strongly recommended!”

“Luciana was absolutely wonderful with Bheem and Bhairav! She was incredibly accommodating, especially since my request was last minute, and took such great care of them throughout the day. She even gave them a little pedicure, took them on walks, and regularly shared pictures and updates, which gave me complete peace of mind. Both dogs looked super comfortable, happy, and clearly enjoyed their day with her. Highly recommend Luciana ... reliable, caring, and genuinely great with dogs!”

“Bhavani is excellent and goes beyond to give your fur baby the care needed..she takes care as if he's the own child..she plays with him and even more ..she provides timely update and videos .you can trust her completely with your fur baby.”

I have hands-on experience providing safe, reliable, and loving care ensuring they feel at home even when their family is away. Over the years, I’ve cared for pets of different breeds, ages, and temperaments—covering everything from daily feeding and exercise to giving medications and keeping them calm in new environments. Why families trust me: I care for each pet as if they were my own. I keep their routine consistent, so they feel at home. I’m patient and gentle with pets that are shy, or need extra attention. I am currently working part time with flexible schedule, so pretty much open to work around your drop off and pick up time. I do go out for school picks up and drop off which is quick or to run some errands and appointments but just for couple of hours and I do have cameras on the pups. We have a fenced yard and one very friendly fur baby to keep your baby safe and have fun. I have multiple gates too, which can ne used to separate them if needed
“Gurdeep was able to put all my fears at rest. This was the first time we boarded Sasha and I can’t say enough about how happy she was. The house was clean and welcoming. I will definitely bring Sasha again.”

“Suna provided outstanding and loving care to Buddy while he was with her. Buddy enjoyed going to her home every day and playing with her sweet Maltese, Mimi. The two dogs became forever friends! Suna communicated with us daily, providing text and photo updates, clearly indicating that Buddy was well taken care of during his time with her. I highly recommend Suna if you're looking for someone who will go the extra mile to insure that your beloved pet is safe and happy, whether for overnight stays or daytime care.”

“If I could leave 10 stars, I would! My dog Harper just had surgery and Jessica was so attentive to her needs. She was great at keeping her calm so her incisions would stay in tact, she was able to help feed her since Harper was stuck wearing a cone. I was confident having Jessica take care of her as she was recovering”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Piscataway
We left Cody for a few hours of daycare and had such a positive experience. The sitter had great communication before and during the stay, and even sent a video update which I really appreciated. It’s always reassuring to see your pup having fun! Cody came home happy and completely worn out — the best combo. Highly recommend!

From the meet and greet to the stay next day, Kajal was very warm, friendly and caring towards Romeo. She made us very comfortable to leave our little one with her. Kajal made sure she sent us pictures and videos and kept us upto date with him. I know Romeo was in good and trusted hands and would definitely leave Romeo with her in the future.

We are beyond grateful to James and Teri for looking after our pup Kira on such short notice! 🐾 From the moment we dropped her off, we knew she was in the best hands. They truly are the most amazing people on the planet so warm, kind, and clearly passionate about dogs. Throughout our time away (we were at a wedding), they sent us so many adorable videos and updates, which completely put our minds at ease and let us enjoy the day knowing Kira was happy and loved. It honestly felt like she was part of their family! Kira got along so well with all their lovely dogs it was like a little doggy vacation for her! 🐶✨ She was showered with love, cuddles, and playtime, and we could tell she had the best time ever. We couldn’t recommend James and Teri more highly. If you’re looking for sitters who will love your dog like their own, don’t hesitate they are absolute gems. Thank you both a million times over! 💕🐾

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
