“Hadija is a pleasure to work with. She took very good care of Max while we were away. We got frequent updates along with pictures and videos, and she was very responsive when we had questions. I felt safe having Hadija in my house taking care of Max. I look forward to working with her again.”

“Eleanor was wonderful with my 3 dogs. She sent lots of pictures. The girls were happy and well taken care of. They got plenty of outdoor time and playtime with Eleanor. Would highly recommend Eleanor”

“I was so fortunate to have found Calli when I needed someone to be gentle and affectionate toward my senior dog and approachable for my younger dog. She tended to Foxy with so much care because of her recent injury and Singha warmed up to her too which surprised me. I will certainly have Cali be their caregiver again. I recommend Calli as a five star sitter.”

“Bria was an incredible cat sitter. She administered his meds, played with him and sent us pictures of him regularly while we were away. She came a few days before to get acquainted too! Don’t hesitate to book her we will be booking her again!”

“Liana is the best. This time one of my dogs was recovering from stomach issues and Liana took great care of my dog while I was away. She gave me lots of updates and communicated with me so that Deli would be comfortable and feeling well.”

About: I provide a lot of love and care towards the animals I look after so you can feel peace of mind that your pet is attentive hands! I have many years of experience in pet and house sitting, from just over a weekend to over two months of long term care. I love animals and would love to snuggle with yours! I work from home so I have a lot of flexibility with pet sitting, it lets me be around all day to let out to potty, walk, give pets etc I don’t currently offer boarding in my home at this time due to the allergies of other people in my home. Maybe in the future!

About: Hi! I’m Quin. I grew up with cats, dogs, a bunny, and was a member of an Alpaca 4-H club since I was in 3rd grade, I don’t know a world without animals. I genuinely love getting to know people’s pets and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. My current house currently boasts four cats of various ages, from kittens to an old lady, and a young Australian Shepherd mix. Because of this, I'm very comfortable with both cats, dogs, and households that have multiple pets. I've also spent a large part of my life caring for senior animals and pets who need a little extra attention. I've managed medications, special diets, frequent potty breaks, and other individualized care, including caring for a previous dog with a seizure disorder. My approach to pet care is to meet each animal where they are. I love matching their energy, whether that means a long walk and plenty of playtime, some quiet companionship, or simply giving a shy pet the time and space they need to become comfortable with me. I'm detail-oriented and happy to follow specific routines and care instructions because I know how important it is to feel confident that your pet is being cared for exactly the way you would care for them. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, house sitting, and cat sitting. I'm happy to care for pets who need extra attention or have special routines, and I always want to make your time away as easy and worry-free as possible. Most importantly, I want your pets to feel like they have a friend looking after them while you're gone. If that sounds like the kind of pet care you need, please reach out to me! I am currently a part-time student with another job on top of Rover, so please take a look at the calendar to book with me! Pet safety is my top priority. I am familiar with dealing with cats and dogs who don't get along and make sure not just to stop dangerous scenarios but also to prevent them altogether.
About: Hi, I'm Krystina! I am a 30-year-old passionate pet lover with over 10 years of experience caring for both dogs and cats. Animals aren't just a job for me—they are a central part of my life. As a dedicated pet parent myself, I understand how deeply we love our fur babies and how important it is to find someone you can completely trust when you're away. Whether your pet is staying in your home, joining me for a quick afternoon stroll, or settling in for an extended stay while you travel, they will be treated exactly like a member of my own family. I pride myself on providing the same level of love, attention, and spoiling that they get from you! Flexible schedule for dog walking and house sitting! I can adapt to your pet’s needs and keep them happy, active, and comfortable while you're away! 🐾🐶🐱🐾 I provide safe, reliable, and loving care in your pet’s own home environment. I do not currently offer boarding and do not have a vehicle, so my services are focused within a 5–10 mile radius of Edison, NJ. I’m available for house sitting, and dog walking while keeping your pet’s routine comfortable, familiar, and stress-free. 🐶🐱
“Shiloh was a wonderful relief after a petcare emergency left us to find a replacement sitter while we were away on vacation. Our dog is lovely, but suffers from severe separation anxiety and is stubborn on the leash. She handled him beautifully and I felt at ease with how she talked about him and when she sent pictures of our dog, while we were away. She gave us great tips on how to handle his anxiety. Most of all, I felt like she truly cared for Boomerang like it was her own furbaby. We will definitely ask for Shiloh's help for future pet care needs.”
“I was extremely happy with the care Evgenii provided my dog Dakota. It was the first time I had a sitter stay in my apartment & he made me very comfortable. I received daily updates & photos. What a terrific experience & I will Def be using Evgenii's serves again! Thank You”

“Quincy is an excellent pet sitter! He kept our cats company while we were away, and gave us daily updates. Our home and pets were well cared-for while we were away. We will definitely use Quincy again!”

About: I have fostered over 20 puppies/small dogs in San Diego for the last 2 years and moved to NYC. I have my own Chihuahua terrier mix baby, NooNoo, who has epilepsy so I am familiar with giving medicine and constant attention. I have taken care of friends' cats and dogs for more than 3 weeks. I love taking pictures so I will always provide constant updates if requested. I work remotely so I am available most days and can provide walks, cuddles, belly rubs, playtime, and attention. I work from home so I am available at most times. I will be in contact and can send pictures frequently. I love all animals and will be happy to spend time with your fur-friend :) I love animals and it will be my pleasure to spend time with your pet! “Laura watched our dog at our home while we were away for a few days. She did an excellent job with our dog and treated our home with respect. We will definitely reach out in the future when we can't bring our pup on trips! Highly recommend Laura”

“I cannot say enough great things about Paige. She was extremely kind and caring toward our pups and took great care of them for the weekend we were away. She also was super communicative and gave us consistent updates about how our dogs were doing and how their days went, complete with picture updates as well. Which I really appreciate. She is an amazing pet/house sitter and if she is available, book her IMMEDIATELY! We will 1000% be booking Paige again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Piscataway
I couldn’t be happier with Jennifer! She house-sat and cared for our dog, Marvin, while we were away for a one-week vacation. From the start, Jennifer was wonderful. We did an initial meet-and-greet months ahead of our trip, and we liked her right away. Marvin was so comfortable with her that he actually fell asleep on her feet while we chatted and got to know each other! While we were away, Jennifer sent regular photos and kept us completely updated on how Marvin was doing. She even managed to get him to go on more frequent and longer walks than his normal routine, which was fantastic to hear. Marvin was happy, the house was great, and we had total peace of mind the entire week. We highly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

So, I may have said in previous reviews, but I think our guest room should have a plaque on it that says "A lot of times, this is Jonathan's room" !! Jonathan has been really just the best pet sitter you could ask for. Super responsible, deeply kind and warm with our little zoo, and he always leaves our home tidier than when we left! We can't recommend his services enough!

Rwitika was amazing!!! We have loads of experience as a certified Rover sitter. She checks all the boxes, and our pups were so comfortable. Our Maltese got to play with her gentle pug (Pinecone), and he got lots of energy out. Great communication and updates - we had a vacation with zero stress!! Thank you again!!

We had a wonderful experience! Miryam cared for our two Yorkies in our home for six hours and was attentive, responsible, and genuinely caring. She followed all of our care instructions, including feeding, walks, playtime, and potty breaks. Our 6-year-old Yorkie has some separation anxiety and was a little nervous after we left, but she was patient, gave him the time he needed to warm up, and made sure he was comfortable. She also did a great job keeping up with our energetic 1-year-old Yorkie, making sure he had frequent potty breaks and plenty of active play. Her attention to detail and communication gave us peace of mind, and it was clear our dogs were well cared for. We would absolutely recommend her and would happily book her again!

Celestine was reliable, communicative, and kept me updated with photos and messages throughout the stay, which gave me great peace of mind! I came home to a happy, well-cared-for cat and a tidy apartment. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter!!

Kelly was absolutely excellent. We had her stay overnight with our cats, including one who had recently had a medical emergency, for four days. She was diligent in providing updates, sending photos, and making sure our kitties felt loved. We will absolutely be using her again.
JLyne was amazing! She came to sit my elderly cat Papi while I was out of town for an important event. I was able to focus on my event because she was able to take care of him so well. She sent me updates and answered all of my questions. She sent pics as well. To top it all off, it was even her birthday and she still watched him. Thank you so much JLyne. I would definitely recommend her! 😻😻😻

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Piscataway on Rover is $39.41 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 14,270 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Piscataway. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Piscataway walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Piscataway maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Piscataway choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
