About: I’ve fostered 5 different dogs from the Humane Society of Utah (3 wks - 2 mo each). I was responsible for feeding, exercising, administering meds, and providing water for the dogs. I volunteered for Second Chance for Homeless Pets, where I cleaned kennels, fed animals, completed simple cleaning tasks, & bathed a dog. I completed 4 semesters of the vet tech program at Broadview University, where I learned about proper veterinary care, including administering meds, making general health assessments, walking dogs, cleaning kennels/clinic/classrooms, etc. During this time, I completed a preceptorship at Sugarhouse Veterinary Hospital, where I was able to sit in on a surgery. Dogs go outside about once per hour while I'm home, and I return every 2–3 hours when I need to step out. My two very friendly dogs and four animal LOVING kids (9, 13, 14, and 16) help make sure visiting pets get plenty of playtime, affection, and mental stimulation, while still maintaining calm areas for your pups to have a comfortable place to decompress and relax. I have a securely fenced yard where dogs can safely run and play during their stay. There’s plenty of room for exercise, and I keep toys in the yard so dogs always have something fun to do.
