“I’m so happy I booked with Savannah :) throughout the day she provided me with updates and pictures. At pick up time my pet Pockets seemed really chill and happy. He has separation anxiety so I was really surprised that he wasn’t stressed out. I would 100% book again :))”

About: I raised my 2 mini schnauzers from puppyhood through their twilight years and loved every second of it. We made many other dog friends along the way, including the occasional sleepover. I work remotely from home, so it’s easy for me to adapt to whatever schedule your dog is used to! I travel for 2-3 weeks in the year around (but typically not during) holidays. My apartment complex is gated with great walking areas for the community’s many pets. A public park is just next door with hiking trails for higher energy pups. I also have extra beds, crates, leashes, bowls, and toys if you forget yours or prefer not to haul them around.

“Marco had a wonderful day! I really appreciated all the updates and photos throughout his stay. It was great seeing that he got a nice walk and lots of attention. He came home happy and relaxed, which is always the best sign. Thank you for taking such good care of him — I would definitely book again!”

“We highly recommend Miguel! He took very good care of our dog Toyo for daycare. His home is very safe and catered to the service he provides. Toyo is always excited to get dropped off and has the best nap ever after coming home. We would book Miguel over and over again!”

“my puppy loved the companionship of fellow pups and Gary’s attentiveness. Gary was very flexible with days and start times. His home is very pet friendly with great outdoor space. He wasn’t a afraid of my Border Collies energy level and wanting to incorporate the puppy’s house rules.”
“Auntie Jae has just been named as our Dodgers sitter! She watched our babies while we watched our first game ever. And, Dodgers won! 🎉 What made our experience amazing was the favt that Auntie Jae took great care of Charlie & Charlotte. Here's to more games and more visits with Auntie Jae!!!”

“First time with Kyle; I have a very anxious Chihuahua mix & Kyle was very patient with her and gave her her own space until she became comfortable. I can tell he has plenty of experience dealing with this type of situation. Communication was easy and efficient with Kyle the entire time that I was at my function. I did check it quite often. Kyle was very responsive which I really appreciated because I was a little bit nervous seeing that my poor baby is very anxious.. We will see you again! Thank you.”

“I needed last minute doggy day care, and Jade was my go to. Flexible, friendly, professional and great with puppies. She shared multiple videos throughout the day, and evening. My shoot went extra long, and Mable was the last to be picked up. Jade was over the top flexible. Mable had a great day with Jade and friends. I highly recommend Jade. Conveniently located, easy drop off and pick up.”

“Marina has been absolutely amazing! If you’re looking for someone to take care of your fur babies I highly recommend Marina. My puppy pretzel, isn’t very social, and when I brought her to Marina’s house for a meet up, she wasn’t initially friendly towards the other dogs. However, Marina patiently worked with pretzel and carefully introduced her to the group. I am impressed by Marina’s ability to create a calm and welcoming environment. She is incredibly patient, caring, and always goes the extra mile to help. She’s also flexible with scheduling, which has been a huge help! On top of that, her rates are very reasonable!”

“Salud, thank you for watching out crazy Zoé! My dog is fearful reactive to other dogs & Salud was able to watch him with no hesitation. Thankful for your patience in keeping our dog company for the day!”

“Another amazing day for Finn at doggy day care! He never wants to leave and it makes us so happy to see him happy and knowing that someone like Maritza is watching and playing with him!”

About: Hi! I’m a devoted pet parent and passionate animal lover who treats every pet like family. For the past 4+ years, I’ve shared my life with my own fur baby, and she’s truly become my best friend. Spending my days caring, playing, and bonding with her has taught me how to build trust, show love, and pay attention to the little things that matter most to animals. What sets me apart is the level of care I bring by being thoughtful, detail-oriented, and heartwarming. I’ve learned to read pets' emotions, recognize when something isn’t quite right, and respond quickly. After navigating health issues with my own pup, I know how to stay calm, be prepared, and act fast when needed, always putting their safety and comfort first. I'm also very mindful of my surroundings during walks or social encounters. I’ve developed a strong sense of how to read the body language of unfamiliar dogs and can quickly spot when another dog may be feeling anxious or reactive. This helps me avoid risky situations and ensures that the dogs in my care are always safe and well-protected. Whether your pet needs a cuddle buddy, a playful companion, or someone to keep a watchful, loving eye while you’re away, I’m here to give them the same love and care I give my own. I'm currently available full time to care for your pets! I recently moved to the U.S. with my husband and our fur baby due to his job. I am going to school to learn english as english is my second language so I hope that Rover also gives me the oportunity to meet many animal lover parents and helps me get more involved with the community. On the side I love working out and when I am not with my family or at school I am typically running and excercising, as that is a big part of my life. I’m here to provide the specific care your pet needs whether it’s a visit, a walk, respecting their space, offering a safe crate or area to relax, or keeping track of feeding times. I pay close attention to every detail to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable. I know how important peace of mind is when you’re away from your furry family member, so I’m happy to send as many photos and videos as you’d like. I truly love making pet parents feel calm and confident that their baby is in great hands.
“Ebeny took such great care of my puppy. She was so reliable, communicated great always providing updates, and my pup was so excited to see her everytime. I can’t thank her enough for the amazing care she gave Cali and highly highly recommend her!”

“Absolutely incredible to work with! Flexible and so kind. We could tell that our baby truly enjoyed spending the evening at their home. So grateful they were able to help us in a pinch. Hope to work with Vincent and Eve in the future when we go to other shows at the Forum or SoFi.”

“Teddy loved spending the day with Lauren, Cody & Koa! Being the super active dog that he is, Teddy enjoyed the two walks, as well as all the fetch and play in their large backyard. Lauren was great about providing pics to us throughout the day and updating us on how things were going. We felt super comfortable and knew Teddy was in safe hands - it allowed us the ability to enjoy our time away, without worrying. We would definitely recommend Lauren and will be booking with her again in the future :)!”

“Truly amazing! They took care of my sweet 9 week old puppy beautifully. So loving, attentive and Winnie looked forward to going there. We’ll be back soon! Thank you!”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your South Gate commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
