“Colleen was recommended to me by a friend and she did not disappoint! She communicates well and was great with my 5 month old puppy. Will not hesitate to use her services again.”

“You have yourself a repeat customer for life! Sissy already wants you to come walk her again! Definitely the most patient and caring person ive ever met with dogs! Mine already is missing you!”

“Destiney and Ben are dreams to have care for your fur children. Very attentive, constant and consistent updates, very personal and professional, and supply many photos! Also very responsive to schedule changes and changes in the care my cats need (both of my cats have medical conditions, one has a prescription diet and needs medication). If I could give greater than five stars I would. Will definitely book again in the future”

“Paige did a great job taking care of my Archie today! I was nervous since this was my first time using rover and Archie is recovering from a back injury, but Paige was very patient and careful with him. She did everything I asked and more which I couldn’t be more thankful for. She communicated with me well and eased my anxiety a bunch. I would definitely book with her again!”

“Zachary went above and beyond for my dog at his check ins! Even when Simba was unsure about having someone new in the house at first, Zachary managed to make friends quickly and now it seems like they’re good buds! I can’t thank him enough :)”

“Allysa cared for my two elderly cats while I was out of town for two weeks. She kept in close communication with me about the cats, and was very responsive to my concerns. On two different occasions, she went “above and beyond” to ensure my cats were well cared for, and I am very grateful for her efforts! I will definitely be using her services again!”
“Lindsay was awesome. She was able to provide coverage on wildly short notice and Gus was a huge fan. Lindsay’s consistent updates (and pictures) let me know that Gus was enjoying himself, which made it easier for me to enjoy myself. 10/10 would recommend”

“Kristan was a wonderful pet sitter! She was very attentive to my cats during her drop in visits - she made sure they were taken care of and also played with them! She sent daily pictures and updates of how they were doing and communicated with me frequently as needed. My pets took to her immediately and she was great with them, even my shy cat loved her! Definitely would recommend her services and will be using her again for future pet sitting needs!”

About: I’ve had pets my entire life and adore them! Dogs, cats, and more. I’ve had experience of taking care of/ petting sitting my families pets for a few years. Love taking care of them <3 I have a very open schedule as a tattoo apprentice and I am free most evenings and mornings. I can fit pet sitting around my job. I have a fenced in yard and four sweet doggies. They are crate trained so they don’t get into stuff at night or while I’m away. I also have two cats who lay around on heated pads and live the spoiled good life. All of the animals get plenty of treats and spoilings! 🤭
“Jacqueline was prompt, communicative, and good with our pets with a variety of needs—not even to mention that she saved us from a last-minute cancellation. I wholeheartedly recommend her services and will contact her again if she’ll have us!”

About: Hi! I'm 24 years old and attended Marshall University. I've always loved animals and enjoy spending time with pets of all kinds. Whether it's going for walks, playing, or simply giving them the attention and care they deserve, I treat every pet like they're my own. I'm reliable, caring, and excited to meet new furry friends. I look forward to helping provide your pets with a safe, fun, and loving experience while giving you peace of mind whenever you're away. I’m currently just in school I’m not working part time, so I would have lots of time to watch your pets!! I would be available at different days throughout the week it just depends!! Just message me!! I have a pretty decent sized apartment, I do not have a fenced in yard but I do have a small yard around the apartment complex! I go on walks all the time around Huntington and campus!! I love Ritter Park as well!!
“Carlee took great care of my cats while I was away on a trip! She was responsive and took lots of pics of my fur babies. I felt so relieved knowing my cats were with someone I could trust!!”

“Shelby was so awesome with our cat Shiloh! She is a great communicator and easy to get a hold of when you need her. She was great at providing updates on how our kitty was doing while we were away!”

“I never leave reviews, but Anna did such a great job taking care of my boy that I had too. Anna provided quick replies to my questions and showed up on time as requested. My pup needs some medications, so I was a bit concerned about leaving my dog in the care of someone else. The fact that Anna is a Registered Nurse put me at ease. She payed very close attention to detail in providing the medication my pup requires. Anna went above and beyond the instructions I had for her. She was even kind enough to water one of my exotic plants. My dog is very big at 158 lbs. She interacted with my dog very well. My dog definitely enjoyed her company. Anna has good energy, is very professional, responsible and trustworthy. I 100% recommend Anna. She will definitely be my go to for all my future dog care needs.”
About: Hi, my name is Riley and I absolutely love dogs, so I decided to join Rover! I do have two dogs of my own, and they love making new friends. Because of my two boys, I have learned so much about what it takes to provide a happy, healthy life for a dog. From walks, to fetch, and even to just laying around getting belly rubs, I always do what I can to make dogs happy and get their tails wagging! I have a house with a big fenced in yard, and a doggy door that is open at all times to access the outside whenever! My dogs LOVE it, because they can play all day, but can come in for a power nap when they want, too. My boys and I look forward to making a new fur friend! I work Monday-Friday, 7:30-5pm. I am fortunate to have flexibility to telework, however, so I am able to be home throughout the day when necessary! I have a doggy door, as well as a fenced in yard so that the pups are able to roam freely and go outside when needed. I’m also able to crate pups, if requested, as I have 2 extra large crates!
“Tori was amazing! She was able to accept my booking for drop in visits on short notice, and even accepted an impromptu extra visit that allowed me to extend my stay. Highly recommended. 10/10 Will return.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - South Charleston
Stephanie was amazing. She went above and beyond taking care of Parmy. She not only was a great sitter but a great teacher to me and Parmy. She provided me with ideas such as puzzle feeders, and when the one I got was not difficult enough, she let me try out one of her dog’s puzzles which was super helpful. She even taught my dog how to play fetch. She was timely, always arrived before schedule, and went the distance. I don’t trust too many people, but I trust Stephanie. If you need any services regarding your pet, I highly recommend Stephanie
Really happy we found Skye! She kept me updated with photos every day which I loved, was super trustworthy and communicative the whole time, and even went out of her way to water my plants and grab my mail! I felt at ease the whole trip because of how well Koda took to her! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience and we will 100% be booking her again. Koda has a new friend 💛

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
