“Paige did a great job taking care of my Archie today! I was nervous since this was my first time using rover and Archie is recovering from a back injury, but Paige was very patient and careful with him. She did everything I asked and more which I couldn’t be more thankful for. She communicated with me well and eased my anxiety a bunch. I would definitely book with her again!”

“Kristan was a wonderful pet sitter! She was very attentive to my cats during her drop in visits - she made sure they were taken care of and also played with them! She sent daily pictures and updates of how they were doing and communicated with me frequently as needed. My pets took to her immediately and she was great with them, even my shy cat loved her! Definitely would recommend her services and will be using her again for future pet sitting needs!”

“Jacqueline was prompt, communicative, and good with our pets with a variety of needs—not even to mention that she saved us from a last-minute cancellation. I wholeheartedly recommend her services and will contact her again if she’ll have us!”

“You have yourself a repeat customer for life! Sissy already wants you to come walk her again! Definitely the most patient and caring person ive ever met with dogs! Mine already is missing you!”

About: I provide dependable, personalized care that’s tailored to each dog’s personality, routine, and comfort level. Whether your pup is playful, or needing a slower pace, I focus on making them feel safe, loved, and stress-free while you’re away. I also make communication a priority. You’ll receive regular updates, photos, and honest check-ins so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is to make your time away easier for both you and your dog by creating a caring, reliable, and attentive experience from start to finish. I am currently out of school for the summer. I enjoy being active and spending time with animals, so caring for pets is something I genuinely look forward to rather than squeezing in between other responsibilities. I also build flexibility into my week to accommodate different energy levels and care needs whether that means extra walks or sticking closely to a medication or feeding schedule. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, crate routines, and any house rules the pet is already used to.
“Shelby was so awesome with our cat Shiloh! She is a great communicator and easy to get a hold of when you need her. She was great at providing updates on how our kitty was doing while we were away!”

About: I am a medical student who loves animals and loves working with them. I have had pets for my whole life and also worked at the local shelter for my four years of high school, so I have a lot of experience with taking care of animals of all sizes. Currently I have a cat and large dog. I have also taken pet CPR and First-Aid classes, so I will always be prepared if an emergency occurs. I am pretty flexible with my hours and I am based in Charleston, WV and am more than willing to travel a little bit farther in order to take care of your pet and satisfy their needs. I am a huge animal lover and have a lot of experience with taking care of animals and will always make sure you and your pet are satisfied.
“Monica took great care of our fur babies! This was the second time we used her as our sitter and I will definitely think of her in the future if we need someone to take care of our three cats.”

“It was such a pleasure to work with Destiney and Benjamin. They were so understanding of my dog's reactivity and worked so well with her. They also were very communicative and set so many of my nerves at ease.”

About: I’ve had pets my entire life and adore them! Dogs, cats, and more. I’ve had experience of taking care of/ petting sitting my families pets for a few years. Love taking care of them <3 I have a very open schedule as a tattoo apprentice and I am free most evenings and mornings. I can fit pet sitting around my job. I have a fenced in yard and four sweet doggies. They are crate trained so they don’t get into stuff at night or while I’m away. I also have two cats who lay around on heated pads and live the spoiled good life. All of the animals get plenty of treats and spoilings! 🤭
“This was my first time using Rover. Devin was a pleasure to meet and greet before the booking was confirmed. He was professional, friendly, interested in my cat and provided clear information regarding the services he could provide. He arrived on time, gave updates on how the visits went and provided pictures. I will use Devin again.”

About: Hi there! I’m absolutely excited to take care of your pup(s) and/or cat(s). I’ve taken care of pups in the past few years when friends and family needed someone. I’ve taken care of a Dalmatian baby girl to a Great Dane. Currently available for most of the week at the moment. Especially Monday-Fridays but I am definitely willing to work weekends if I’m not busy 😁 I try to keep my calendar updated daily. I would love a list provided for the foods your dog can eat so I can manage his or her diet appropriately. In addition, if he or she has toys, let me know so we can play!! Lastly, please let me know if your pet has any anxiety. I want to make sure your pets feel as safe and comfortable as they do with you. 🥰 Currently a full time student! So I can come visit or walk your pet before or after school. I have most weekends off unless I’m out hiking. Unfortunately, I cannot offer sitting in my own home at this time. Thank you for your understanding. I have sat for many people over the past few years.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Charleston
Stephanie was amazing. She went above and beyond taking care of Parmy. She not only was a great sitter but a great teacher to me and Parmy. She provided me with ideas such as puzzle feeders, and when the one I got was not difficult enough, she let me try out one of her dog’s puzzles which was super helpful. She even taught my dog how to play fetch. She was timely, always arrived before schedule, and went the distance. I don’t trust too many people, but I trust Stephanie. If you need any services regarding your pet, I highly recommend Stephanie
Annaliese took amazing care of my cat during a week-long trip that suddenly turned into 10 days as a result of travel complications. She went above and beyond by agreeing to do extra visits to care for my boy while I was stuck out of state. She sent plenty of pictures of her cuddling and playing with him, kept up communication with me, and left the house just as I left it. Peace of mind that your pet is okay is everything when you’re trying to enjoy a vacation, and Annaliese’s care assured me that my boy was in great hands. Thank you!!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
