“Adrianne was so awesome. She was incredibly communicative and so loving to my boys. They were so happy in every photo she sent!! I came home and it was like nobody was ever there, She is also an awesome house guest!! I will recommend her to everyone and will definitely request her again!! 😇”

“Look no further because Cara is the best! She is caring, mature and calm and has a keen sense with animals. She took care of our 3 dogs and home for 5 days and we came back to our home exactly as we had left it. I am so glad we found her and already have her booked a few more times. It’s a relief knowing our home and dogs are being well taken care of while we’re away. Really can’t say enough good things about her except give her a try —- ya won’t regret it.”

“Sara did an amazing job with our pups giving us updates throughout her stay, and with our home. Everything that was asked of her was done to perfection and we couldn't of have any one better to watch our little babies.”

About: Since a little girl, taking good care of animals has not been a chore, but a love and compassion for the furry angels we call pets! I am a part time college student, but I’m super flexible with my school hours, while still maintaining good grades. I can be as flexible as needed. I am very active and I live in the landings, with lots of dog parks and many areas to walk and play!!! I don’t currently own any dogs at my current address

“Emily is the best! She always ensures our pets are well taken care of and loved! She took our dog on extra long walks and when we came back the house was probably cleaner than when we left it. Highly highly recommend.”

“Had a great experience! Alexis was very patient with our nervous dogs and gave all of them a lot of attention! We received a lot of feedback and pictures. Will definitely be using them again!”

About: I have had dogs for as long as I can remember. I have worked in veterinary clinics since I was 12. I also believe dogs are our greatest gifts. I have always taken in special needs pups if I can. My last two had cerebellar hypoplasia and lived to be 16 and 17 yo. I work part time as a therapist and love being around animals. It is healing and rewarding for me. I also enjoy walks and being outside so it’s a win. I will treat your family with the love and warmth I give my own. My goal is to keep them happy, healthy and safe. My years of experience with many breeds, sizes, and species give me a strong foundation of care and ongoing expertise.

About: I’m a 44 year old animal lover. I was lucky to have spent the last 10 years with my Labrador but unfortunately he had to move on to a world without suffering. He was the best dog ( you know what I mean!!!) now I have too much love to share and space in my heart and would love to share it with your dog. I work 9.5h shifts 4 days a week. So your pet would have to be okay with being able to be home alone for some time. I will make sure tho that before my work day they are the last and after, my first thought. Our house is dog proof (since we owned a dog until recently) and the yard is fenced in and pet friendly. The dog will be able to move around the house freely (when I’m home) and the yard with supervision only!
About: I’m a lifelong animal lover who would love to spoil your dog with love, care and lots of pets while you are away from home. I am an experienced pet sitter and foster with lots of love to go around! I grew up caring for a smart and sassy Beagle mix then became a German Shepherd Mom, then fostered and pet sat for years before adopting our gorgeous husky mix pup. I look forward to helping your dog feel comfortable and safe at home while you are away. I am available for dog and house sitting on weekends and some weekdays. I work a typical 9-5 and would love to spend my weekend with your pup. As a dog mom of large breeds, safety is always my number one concern. I’m diligent about closing doors and always supervise dogs when they are in the yard. I take lots of pictures and will give you updates throughout the day. As the pet parent, I will take your lead and follow the schedule or boundaries you have in your home for your dog. For example, at my house - dogs are allowed on the couch. But your house - your rules!
“Katelyn took great care of our sweet pup with a last minute booking due to a family emergency. Zeke was tuckered out from all his fun all weekend long. Looking forward to rebooking for future pet sitting needs :)”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life. And I have walked dogs for neighbors in the past. I love animals and love to help them in any kind of way! I am currently looking for a full time job so I have a lot of open availability. I’m very flexible and drive my own car. My apartment is very safe! I have to keep it baby proof for my cat anyway so I am very careful about that. I am very clean and always clean up after myself.
“Jessica is amazing. She took great care of our pups while we were out of town. She kept us informed, sent pictures, and left our house spotless. We highly recommend her when you need someone to love your pets while you are away.”

We had a wonderful experience with Sam while she stayed at our home. She took excellent care of our dogs, kept us regularly updated, and made sure they got plenty of enriching nature walks. The custom artwork she created of our animals was such a thoughtful and special touch. We couldn’t be happier and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Skidaway Island walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Skidaway Island maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Skidaway Island choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
