About: I have over 10 years in pet care experience. Ive been trusted by my family and neighbors to take care of their animals in their times of need. I wash, walk, play with and feed I am currently unemployed so I have all the time in the world to play with your adorable pets I'm available for boarding all week and weekend. I have a security system in my home so your pets will be more than safe I'm always home and attentive to pets so they will never get into any trouble or hurt.

About: I’ve (Harlei) been house and pet sitting for several years now. I truly enjoy the opportunity to care for animals in their own space that they are comfortable in. Jackson is a property manager and animal lover like myself so we both know the value of having your home taken care of while you’re away. We just finished a 6 month trip around the UK and used pet sitting opportunities to get around and explore the whole country! We have cared for a range of animals from dogs to cats to reptiles. Some being elderly and needing multiple medications and some being on the more reactive side when it comes to walks, so we’ve got it all down! Mostly, we know the importance of keeping your furry friend in their own space and routine. Some of the screenshot reviews are from that trip and the owners of the pets we looked after through another sitting platform:) We currently work remotely which allows us to bounce around as we please and stay home with your pets. In addition to getting to bond with all kinds of loving animals, we value the fact that it allows us to visit places we’ve never been. You can rest easy while you’re away knowing that we’ll be home with your pets most of the day and they’ll be getting lots of attention! We believe the most important thing to keep pets happy and comfortable while you’re away is to keep them in the routine they’ve grown used to. Their walking schedule and even route that they love, playtime, snuggles, meals, and medications-it should all be just as they know and we will take care of it all 🤗
“Devin is amazing. It was my 1st time leaving my dogs, and she assured me their care and they sure were. I was worried but she made me feel better by her frequent responses and pictures and video of my dogs. She indeed made my travelling better by the way she took care of my babies.”

“Jasmin was great! She is very responsible and took great care of my dogs. She also sent us pictures and kept us updated every day. I would definitely recommend her and I plan to use her again!”

About: I’m currently traveling around the country, looking for places to stay and cute animals to take care of. I have a cat who I miss dearly and am in need of places to stay while traveling so I thought why not try to pet sit on my journey. I would appreciate being able to sleep at your house but even having a place to go during the day would be nice and I have my own air mattress. I’m happy to meet before booking! I will be in Savannah july 15th-22nd. I work from home so my schedule is very flexible. I can take breaks often to walk/feed/play with your fur baby. I’ll be very attentive to your pet’s needs. I don’t have any pets. I live in my own apartment and will be very attentive to your pet. I live right next to meridian hill park so we can go out for plenty of walks.
“Melissa was such a blessing! She took the best care of our sweet Lucy. I knew Lucy was comfortable and in great hands because she ate her food everyday and usually she skips days because she’s anxious when we’re gone. Melissa sent wonderful daily updates and photos, too.”

About: Hey, I'm Taylor and I have been a pet sitter since my 10th birthday. My love for all things furry has brought me a plethora of animals over the years, much to my sister's dismay. Squirrels, ferrets, dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, turtles, fish... Pretty much anything that crossed my path became my new fixation. I love to take care of, train, and bond with animals. There's an ongoing joke in my family that I take care of the "lost boys". 3 legs on chemo? Back legs stopped working? Insulin shots every 12 hours? None of it phases me. I'm happy to do anything for any fur baby. Medications, injections, and simple grooming are all included with my prices. I can accommodate for all pets. Please let me know at booking what your needs are and we can create a care plan together. My goal is always to make the stay as seemless as possible. Keeping your pet on their schedule relieves stress and makes the stay a happier experience, perfect for peace of mind during long getaways. I am lucky enough to work from home out of my stained glass studio. My flexible schedule allows me to cater my schedule to your pets stay. I offer in-home sitting and drop-ins to make for a more comfortable stay for your pets. I am happy to offer light house keeping including mail, plants, and always pet waste clean up.
“Tim is awesome! I’ve used many sitters through Rover and Tim is the best! This is the 2nd time he has watched my 4 dogs and chickens at my house. He feeds them and spends a great deal of time with them. He also goes above and beyond by sweeping my floors and washing the bedding in my guest bedroom he slept in. It’s nice going on vacation and not having to worry. It’s also great coming home from vacation to happy dogs and a clean house.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for many years and have experience with both large and small breeds. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy, patient, and attentive to your pet’s needs. I am comfortable with feeding schedules, walks, playtime, administering basic medications, and providing lots of love and companionship. I have experience caring for energetic dogs, senior dogs, and pets that require extra attention. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and comfortable while you’re away, and I’ll treat them like part of my own family. I’m available to take care of your pups on weekends. I can also provide house sitting on weekends and throughout the week. Additionally, I can take your pup on a 30 minute walk through the day. To provide safety while staying in a client’s home, I keep doors and windows locked, follow all care instructions, maintain the home’s security, monitor the pets closely, and immediately report any emergencies or concerns to the owner.
About: I’ve worked full time with animals for 7 years now. This includes doggy daycare/boarding, animal shelters, & shadowing at vet clinics! I’ve fed, administered medications, groomed, supervised daycare groups, and cared for thousands (yes, thousands 😅) of dogs and cats. I currently work part time, for only 4 hours each shift. With that being said, I have plenty of time to care for your animals. I genuinely love animals. My main goal is to give them the care & love they normally receive from you. I understand how stressful it can be to leave your fur babies! I have no problem giving multiple updates or whatever is needed in order for you to feel more comfortable about your pet's safety & happiness.
About: Caring for animals has been an interest of mine since my very first job! I’ve cared for horses, donkeys, dogs, cats and fostered puppies. If your fur baby is looking for a gentle caring companion in the one! I’ve grown up caring for many of my animals while my parents were at work or out of town. Now I work at a barn and help care for its horses cats and dog that’s on the property! I’m happy to play with, cuddle, walk or even drive around your fur baby. I’m here for them and to make your absence go unnoticed. My goal is for them to miss me when I’m gone and be happy when I’m there.
“Amy is fantastic! She watched our cat, Black Fury, for a week and did an incredible job. She’s a “cat whisperer” who managed to win over our shy boy, and her daily photos/updates, kept us smiling. She also went above and beyond by keeping the house tidy, taking out the trash and bringing in our deliveries. Coming home to a clean house and a happy cat was the perfect end to our trip. Highly recommend!”

“Just had Kitty stay with our two dogs for a few days. First time for us having someone come to the home and it could not have gone smoother. She was there all the times she said she would be & provided pictures and great communication. She went over and above in her care for them. We came home to a spotless house and two very happy dogs. I will definitely use Kitty again.”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Whitemarsh Island is $50

Katie was wonderful!! She was on time to sit with my dog Emma at our location and she sent us updates and photos throughout each session. Emma my dog, was a little nervous on this trip but she instantly took to Katie. When we returned each day from our excursions, Emma was happy and relaxed. 😊 I will definitely book Katie again, next time I’m in Savannah!!

I'm most grateful for Kristen staying with my two elderly dogs for several nights, staying longer than expected, and also arranging for emergency carers when my trip was extended. She's certainly someone I trusted quickly and it's so nice to have a person like that. I'll definitely reach out again and I hope she'll accept!

Sophia was so caring. She made my pets feel safe and kept them on routine. She is not only a great petsitter but the perfect house guest. Our home was just the way we left it. She is kind, professional and trustworthy. She is my go to from now on! Thank you so much♥️

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Whitemarsh Island walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Whitemarsh Island maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Whitemarsh Island choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
