“We recently had the pleasure of having Alanna care for our teenage cat, and we couldn't be more pleased. She was incredibly kind, communicative, and loving, truly appreciating our pet for how unique he is. Her generosity and patience, especially with our sometimes difficult kitten who tends to bite, were outstanding. Alanna handled him like a champ and kept us updated with plenty of pictures and descriptive messages. Not only did she provide excellent care for our pet, but she also went above and beyond with her thoughtful gestures. The house was spotless when we returned from her overnight stays, and she even washed the sheets for us and left us some yummy green onions in the fridge! We are so grateful for her exceptional care and will definitely be contacting her first for any future pet sitting needs. Highly recommend!”

“Look no further because Cara is the best! She is caring, mature and calm and has a keen sense with animals. She took care of our 3 dogs and home for 5 days and we came back to our home exactly as we had left it. I am so glad we found her and already have her booked a few more times. It’s a relief knowing our home and dogs are being well taken care of while we’re away. Really can’t say enough good things about her except give her a try —- ya won’t regret it.”

About: I’ve always had a special place in my heart for animals. I see “pets” as people; they are not just animals; they are family. Ever since I was young, neighbors, family members, friends, and even my former cheer coach have trusted me enough to care for their pets. I have experience staying in clients’ homes for extended periods of time, making sure their pets are fed, walked, loved, and given plenty of attention while their owners are away. I understand how important it is to have someone you can fully trust with your baby, and I always treat every animal I care for as if they were my own. I grew up with animals in my house. We’ve always had Dachshunds (Wiener dogs) and multiple cats at a time. Even though I’ve never had a big dog of my own, I’ve been a sitter for many family friends with black labs and golden retrievers. I hope one day I’ll be able to have one of my own! I’m currently a SCAD student who just finished her 5 week summer courses and I’m looking for ways to make some money before school starts. My weeks are fully free without class. I can take your dogs on walks or play with them at the dog park. I have also previously walked a cat in a stroller, so if that’s something you’re interested in doing, I would. I do live in an apartment on downtown, so I don’t have much yard but there is some outside my building. We don’t have a big backyard which is a bummer. Sometimes military aircraft fly by our house and tend to be very loud for animals who have a hard time with noise. But it is close to Forsyth park!
“Had a great experience! Alexis was very patient with our nervous dogs and gave all of them a lot of attention! We received a lot of feedback and pictures. Will definitely be using them again!”

About: I have pet sit for neighbors, coworkers, friends, & family for many years! Now that I have been living in Georgia for a few years now I am looking to get back into it. On top of that I have my own dog that I have personally attended 2 behavioral training courses with, so I have a foundation of basic training knowledge! My availability is as follows: All day Mon-Tues Before 2pm & after 11pm Wed-Sat On Sundays, I work double shifts (10am-10pm) & will not be available. I am not able to bring other pets into my own apartment due to pet limitation requirements. However in other’s homes, I am respectful that their space is not mine. I am simply there to conduct my best care for the fur babies while their parents aren’t there. I am more than happy to do long walks/playtime to ensure pets are still receiving mental & physical stimulation on a daily basis. Cleaning up accidents / litter does not phase me at all, as I have dealt with cleaning these things up for many years now. You can trust me to keep your home today while you are away!

About: Attentive and friendly sitter dedicated to keeping your furry family members happy and safe. Detail oriented and centered on reliability, custom schedules, and undivided attention. I am available after 7:30pm weekdays until August 8th. After August 8th, I have open availability outside of flexible shifts at my part time job. I provide a safe, respectful, and attentive presence in your home ensuring your pets remain comfortable in their familiar surroundings. My focus is on maintaining routines and providing dedicated one-on-one affection, as well as keeping your home secure while you’re away.
About: I’ve lived with dogs my whole life, from medium to large, and lived with and cared for cats for many years. Animal care is a huge passion of mine, which is why I’ve cared for pets for friends, neighbors, and family. I am able to house watch and walk dogs, and care for both elderly and young dogs and cats. I work a part time job, and have time in my weekends and weekdays to care for pets from house watching to walking. We can work out whatever fits into that schedule. I can do extra tasks needed to keep a home maintained and make sure your pets are happy and healthy. Whether that’s chores or medication, specific eating or potty times, and so on.
“Michelle made sure my dogs were well cared for during her stay in our home. She sent pictures and gave them lots of attention. Michelle came to our house twice before her stay to make sure they knew her well enough and arrived right before we left so it was a smooth transition. We are definitely going to rebook with her soon.”
“Jasmin was great! She is very responsible and took great care of my dogs. She also sent us pictures and kept us updated every day. I would definitely recommend her and I plan to use her again!”

“Emmaline was awesome. We are big time dog parents, and it means a lot to us to have the best for our puppy babies! if you want to feel assured your babies are getting the right attention and are being loved like their own, Emmaline is your dog sitter. She was punctual and communicated timely. Emmaline exceeded our expectations and we will have her back. I could tell that our puppy babies loved Emmaline because they acted like we weren't even gone when we returned.”

“Melissa was amazing! She took such great care of our pets & looked after the house while we were on vacation. She gave me great peace of mind and sent detailed reports with pictures everyday. Highly recommend!”

“Joshua did a great job with my 2 dogs, and 11 month old Dalmation puppy, and a 7 year old Hungarian Pumi. He went above and beyond when I did not arrive home when I told him I would be there...( flight delays) Joshua stayed until 1:30 am to make sure the dogs would be OK . The dogs really seemed to enjoy him and were sorry to see him go! I can highly recommend him!”

About: Hi everyone! I have been pet sitting for about three years and absolutely adore animals. What sets me apart from other sitters is that in high school I took four years of vet science and learned so much about behaviors and different animal systems. I have also grown up around animals and carry an enormous amount of empathy and respect for them. I do currently work full time so I am mostly available for morning & night visits but I am very reliable:) I am looking for an extra job since I am currently saving for my first apartment! In my clients home I enjoy cuddling with their pets, playing with toys and going on walks. I take very good care of my clients homes and leave it looking fresh every time. At my own home I am always cuddling my cats and giving them lots of kisses and treats😆
“Ivy did an amazing job watching our 2 big dogs and cat while we were away for the weekend. They seemed to be very happy with her and are already asking when she can come back! Thank you ivy!”

“Catalina was absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of our pets while we were away, and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. She was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared about each of our animals. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pets, and that means everything. I wouldn't hesitate to book Catalina again, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. Thank you, Catalina!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wilmington Island walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wilmington Island maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wilmington Island choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wilmington Island. On Rover:

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
