About: My first friend was an old bulldog mastiff. My next one was a jack russell terrier. The list went on and on until I graduated college and took in my first little mutt. I've always had dogs, I've always found companionship and comfort in their presence. Growing up along side them, I've learned a lot about their behaviors. Just like people, every dog is so different! And it is such an exciting adventure to get to meet a new one and learn about them! If I walk your dog or do a drop in visit, know that I am devoted to making them as happy as possible! My senior chihuahua is blind and most owners don't allow another dog to be brought, so that is why I can't offer overnight stays. (If you are not most owners, feel free to message me and we can arrange a sleepover!) I also have an older boxer mix who is an awesome walking buddy if you don't mind. Other than my dogs, my current schedule is completely open to whatever needs you have for caring for your dog. I always respect the space I am in. "Leave it how you found" it is my motto. I like to spend a lot of time outdoors, and that means keeping a watchful eye at all times!

About: I’ve owned animals for most of my life, dogs for 12 years, generally 1-3 at a time. Through caring for my own dogs, I’ve gained experience with feeding schedules, administering medication, walks, basic grooming, basic training, and noticing when something seems off. I recognize every dog has different personalities and energy levels and routines that are important. I believe pets deserve kindness, consistency, and attention, and I will care for your pets the same way I’d want mine to be taken care of. I work from home full time, so I can easily accommodate most schedules/times and every day of the week. I’m more of a night owl but can definitely figure out what will work best for you and me and your pet! I have a fenced in yard, we have 3 dogs in the home, who are playful and dog friendly. If you prefer them to be crated at night especially in a new strange place that is easily accommodated. Whatever you do with your pets I will do my best to replicate to keep them feeling comfortable and at home! I have no problem with communication via text/call about or during visits, and am happy to send update photos each day!

About: I have experience with dogs of all ages and sizes, from puppies to senior dogs and Chihuahuas to Great Danes! All of which I’ve had no trouble with as I’m extremely sensitive to dogs and their personalities/temperament. I’m especially good with active dogs because I love to play! So you don’t have to worry about your furry companion and I not getting along. I’m doing pet care full time for the summer and I will be doing online classes at UAB during the fall; I’m almost always available for you and your pet. I typically feed, walk or provide company and companionship for your fur baby. However this is very dependent on both the owner’s and pet’s needs. Please let me know what I can do for you!

About: I’m 39 years old and there has been a pet in my life since I was 7. I’m an only child and my pets quickly became like siblings (we didn’t fight like them, promise). I became the primary caregiver for my mom’s two senior mini dachshunds a few years ago and was able to get them crate and pee-pad trained. One of them crossed the rainbow bridge sadly, but my other little old lady is doing well. I fall in love with every animal I see and I would love the chance to fall in love with yours. I’m currently working a full time second shift job (1pm-11pm) so I have the mornings completely open to check on your babies. I’m also a night owl and have no problem doing a nighttime check after work or begin an overnight stay. If you have a fenced yard, I will let them outside and let them do their business before tossing a ball or toy or running around with them to get the zoomies out. If no yard, then I will take them out on a leash for a walk then some playtime inside. Food and water will be checked and refilled; cuddles will be provided at will. :)

About: I have experience with my own 2 dogs, a chocolate lab and a german sherpard. As well as helping friends and family when they need a pet sitter for their dogs or cats. I have limited experience with turtles, birds and lizards. I am currently a student, I am usually in class 8-12, so I will spend the afternoon, evening, or weekends open for pet sitting or drop-in visits. I have a fenced-in backyard for my two dogs. They are crate-trained; however, they are trusted to be in the home alone. They are well cared for, love people and other dogs.

About: With over 16 years of experience in animal care, I bring a strong background in both small and large animals, including horses, livestock, and dogs. I’ve worked in veterinary clinics and dog boarding facilities, which gave me hands-on experience with animals of all temperaments and needs. While I value the structure of those settings, I believe in-home care is the most comfortable and stress-free option for most pets. I currently care for two dogs and two horses of my own, and I approach every client’s animal with the same level of respect, patience, and attentiveness I give my own. House Sitting Availability: I’m available for overnight care only, providing feeding, walks, and supervision during the night hours. Drop-In Visits Availability: I can provide up to two drop-in visits per day, including feeding, potty breaks, and basic care. In home boarding : I live in an apartment with a fenced deck, have two friendly dogs, and kids aged 3 and 8. I provide plenty of walks, playtime, and attention. I never board more than one family at a time, so your pup gets all the care and attention they need while you’re away. I prioritize safety and trust above all else when caring for pets in your home. Creating a calm, secure environment is essential to help your pets feel comfortable and relaxed while you’re away. I treat your home and pets with the same respect and care I would expect for my own!

About: I'd like to start off by saying we LOVE dogs!!! We have seven years of experience as adults but have had dogs all our lives. My name is Stephanie and my husband's name is Logan. We have been married for seven years and have a seven year old black lab named Charli and a 2 year old black lab named Chevi. They absolutely LOVE to play with other dogs! We take them to Beneful Dream Dog Park at Veterans Park at least once a week for playtime with other dogs. I can safely say they would love to meet your dog and become immediate best friends! We have a decent sized fenced in backyard with a covered porch and a big tree to provide shade for those hot days. We also have a doggie door in which they would be free to come in and out of the yard as they please. We have a large crate for dogs that need to be crated at night. We allow dogs on the furniture and have several dog beds. We look forward to building a relationship with you and learning more about your dog. Our goal is to provide excellent service for you and your pet so that you can have peace of mind while you are away knowing your beloved fur family member is well cared for by us! My husband and I both work from home so we will have plenty of time to give your dog the care and attention they deserve. We do require meet and greet appointments for all boarding requests to ensure our dogs are compatible. A meet and greet appointment is a free service and will ensure the safety of all pets.

About: Hi, I’m Laniee — a passionate, dependable pet care provider with years of hands-on experience caring for animals of all breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and turning that passion into a lifelong career is something I’m actively working toward every day. I’m currently taking classes to continue advancing my knowledge in animal behavior, pet care, and training so I can provide the highest quality care possible for every pet I meet. I’m also in the beginning stages of building my own pet service business, The Elite Pet Loungeeee, which will eventually offer a wide range of mobile pet services including grooming, pet photography sessions, pet taxi services, training sessions, and more. What sets me apart is the amount of genuine love, patience, attention, and care I give to every animal as if they were my own. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, comfort level, and needs, and I take the time to build trust with them at their pace. Even anxious or shy pets tend to warm up to me quickly. I live an active lifestyle, so I love spending time walking, playing, exploring, and keeping high-energy pets engaged and happy. I also enjoy slower-paced companionship for senior pets or animals who simply prefer cuddles and comfort. Whether your pet needs playtime, structure, patience, transportation assistance, or extra attention, I’m here to help make them feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily life because caring for animals is genuinely what I love doing. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to give pets the time, attention, consistency, and companionship they deserve throughout the day. I’m currently continuing my education in the pet care field while also working toward building my future business, The Elite Pet Loungeeee. Gaining hands-on experience with different breeds, personalities, behaviors, and routines is extremely important to me because I want to continue growing long-term in this career. I truly enjoy getting to know each pet individually — their quirks, habits, energy levels, favorite activities, and comfort routines. Whether it’s daily walks, drop-ins, overnight care, playtime, medication routines, or simply keeping them company, I make sure every pet receives attentive and reliable care. Creating a safe, loving, low-stress environment for pets is always my top priority. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family members, and I treat every animal in my care with the same patience, protection, and affection I give my own pets. I’m a proud dog mom to my sweet girl, Coco Chanel, who has taught me so much about companionship, routine, emotional connection, and attentive care. Because of my experience with animals of different personalities and temperaments, I pay close attention to body language, comfort levels, triggers, and routines to help pets feel secure and relaxed. Whether caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I focus on maintaining consistency, cleanliness, supervision, exercise, enrichment, hydration, feeding schedules, and emotional comfort. I also have reliable transportation available for park visits, walks, vet appointments, grooming appointments, or unexpected situations if needed. I believe pets thrive when they feel understood, comfortable, and genuinely cared for — not just watched. My goal is always to provide a calm, trustworthy, and positive experience for both pets and their owners. Feel free to message me with any questions. I’d love to meet you and your furry family members!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
