“Charlotte took great care of our herd. Everyone was well looked after while we were away. Charlotte was great in communicating any questions she had and readily reached out when she needed to. Thanks again charlotte for taking care of our fur babies while we were away.”
“Kate was communicative and went above and beyond to make sure our boy wasn’t lonely or bored. I would definitely recommend her and look forward to having her watch our dog in the future!”

“Loved, loved Jen! Communication was great, my dogs loved her, my house was cleaner when I got home than it was when I left, and sent pictures each day which I loved!! And not just posed pics, they would be pics of them being crazy and funny! Also one of my babies requires medication during the day (SARDS) and Jen made sure she had her medication during the day and kept a log of which meds at what time!!! I will 100% be booking with her again!❤️”

“Christina is an amazing pet sitter! It was the first time for us leaving our very attached Pomeranian who is a total Velcro dog & our first time using Rover. Christina took the best care of both our dog & cat. Our cat is very picky about who he will come around & he warmed up to Christina quicker than anyone else ever. She has a huge heart for animals & it shows in how she also transformed my reactive to all new people Pomeranian into him seeing her as his new best friend. I was really concerned about leaving him & she calmed all of my fears in the first hours she was there. She sent me pictures & updates & took the best care of our spoiled fur babies. She will always be our go to first choice. She came and stayed with them for 5 days. She was a Godsend!”

“This is probably the fifth time that Ashlyn has watched our three year old golden retriever in our home. She’s just the best!! Our dog adores her, and we have total peace of mind when we’re out of town that she’s being loved and well cared for. Thank you, Ashlyn!”

“I am a first-time puppy owner and had to travel out of town unexpectedly for a funeral. I was understandably nervous and hesitant to leave Georgie since he's so young, but I know that keeping his environment consistent is extremely important right now. Then I found Annie on Rover.com. Annie was an absolute godsend who put me at ease immediately. She was extremely responsive and even sent me the most adorable pictures of my sweet boy. I am so appreciative of the stellar care that she provided and we hope to have her come and visit again soon! 10/10 would definitely recommend. Thank you, Annie!”

About: I’m 39 years old and there has been a pet in my life since I was 7. I’m an only child and my pets quickly became like siblings (we didn’t fight like them, promise). I became the primary caregiver for my mom’s two senior mini dachshunds a few years ago and was able to get them crate and pee-pad trained. One of them crossed the rainbow bridge sadly, but my other little old lady is doing well. I fall in love with every animal I see and I would love the chance to fall in love with yours. I’m currently working a full time second shift job (1pm-11pm) so I have the mornings completely open to check on your babies. I’m also a night owl and have no problem doing a nighttime check after work or begin an overnight stay. If you have a fenced yard, I will let them outside and let them do their business before tossing a ball or toy or running around with them to get the zoomies out. If no yard, then I will take them out on a leash for a walk then some playtime inside. Food and water will be checked and refilled; cuddles will be provided at will. :)

“Sara is truly a great sitter. She took very good care of my senior dog. I told her and he showed her all of the issues that he has and she handled them with great care which put me at ease. I'll definitely be using her again.”

“Absolute top notch! Thorough and attention to detail. Kept us up to date on the day to day. We were so happy to have Jessie take care of a pups and house. We hope she is available every time we go out of town on an extended vacation.”

“Wren had a great weekend with Autumn. She took care of him based on all our instructions. He was very comfortable with her and didn't wabt his bew friend to leave which is such a sweet and heart warming thing.”

“Princess house sat with our two dogs and kept us updated throughout the stay with pictures and videos. The dogs were obviously well taken care of, and so was the house. Thank you!”

“Tara was amazing! She sent daily updates at the end of the day (per our request) with pictures, walking route, and activities they did throughout the day. She spent lots of time loving on and playing with our dog, and she went above and beyond taking her to the park and through downtown during the day. She was a wonderful house guest, and we think our house may be cleaner now than when we left. We would love to have her keep our dog again no question!”

About: I’ve owned animals for most of my life, dogs for 12 years, generally 1-3 at a time. Through caring for my own dogs, I’ve gained experience with feeding schedules, administering medication, walks, basic grooming, basic training, and noticing when something seems off. I recognize every dog has different personalities and energy levels and routines that are important. I believe pets deserve kindness, consistency, and attention, and I will care for your pets the same way I’d want mine to be taken care of. I work from home full time, so I can easily accommodate most schedules/times and every day of the week. I’m more of a night owl but can definitely figure out what will work best for you and me and your pet! I have a fenced in yard, we have 3 dogs in the home, who are playful and dog friendly. If you prefer them to be crated at night especially in a new strange place that is easily accommodated. Whatever you do with your pets I will do my best to replicate to keep them feeling comfortable and at home! I have no problem with communication via text/call about or during visits, and am happy to send update photos each day!
About: First off, I love dogs! The relationship we share with them is unbreakable. I’ve always had dogs in my life, ever since I was a little girl. I have experienced dogs ranging from toy poodles to roitweilers. I have gained knowledge on the diffeeent personalities of dogs and not one is the same, which makes dogs so interesting. My personality, nevertheless, is kind. I enjoy making people’s day and helping others out through volunteering. I am currently a student at the University of South Alabama and majoring in accounting. With this being my major it is clear I like a challenge. It allows for no dull moments and to keep me very well organized with my day-to-day life. I am dedicated to strive and succeed in life.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Siluria walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Siluria maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Siluria choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
