“Rose walked our two dogs for a week and wow! She looked after them like they were her own, and sent us thorough messages and lots of pictures. It was truly a great experience for owner and dogs alike! Our dogs loved her and are absolutely missing her right now. I would recommend Rose to anyone who is looking for a dog walker or pet sitter. Thank you for everything Rose!!!”

About: I’ve been an animal lover my whole life! I got my first chocolate lab when I was just 2 years old, and since then I’ve cared for all kinds of pets—including a bunny, a bearded dragon, and plenty of farm animals like chickens, cows, goats, and horses. These days, I’m a proud dog parent to two sweet pups I’ve raised since they were tiny, and now at 8 and 11 years old they’re still my best buddies. Having cared for dogs from puppy energy to senior snuggles, I understand the different needs pets have at every stage of life. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or just lots of love and attention, I’ll treat your pets like family and make sure they’re happy, safe, and cared for while you’re away. I currently work a part-time job on weekend evenings/nights, which gives me plenty of flexibility to fit pet care into my schedule. Whether it’s during the day, weekday evenings, or overnight care, I’m able to make sure your pets get the time, love, and attention they need. Your pet’s safety and well-being are always my top priority. I know how important it is to feel at ease when leaving your furry family members in someone else’s care, and I take that responsibility seriously. From making sure they’re comfortable and secure to sticking with their normal routines, I create a safe and stress-free environment for every pet. You can trust that I’ll treat your pets with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own.
“Riley was fantastic! We are new at this (first family dog) as we have a puppy and Riley was a huge help to jump in at the last minute. She was kind enough to fit us in her already tightly booked schedule as we were in a huge bind! She updated throughout the day with pictures and videos. Thanks Riley!! We will definitely contact her again!”

“Devinder was absolutely amazing with my dog Slider! He was prompt when responding to my messages, and gave me complete reports with each dog walk. I felt comfortable with him entering my apartment, and will continue to use Devinder whenever I need my dog walked.”
About: I’ve cared for animals my entire life. Dogs, cats, and even farm animals—and I have experience with everything from energetic puppies to seniors who need medication and gentle care. I fostered through the Richmond SPCA in college, which taught me patience, how to read different personalities, and how to help shy or nervous pets feel safe. I’ve also worked with professional trainers while raising my own dog, so I’m comfortable reinforcing basic commands, routines, and positive behavior. I’m active and love taking dogs on long walks and play sessions, but I also know how to slow things down for older pets or those who prefer a calm routine. What sets me apart is that I understand how stressful it can feel to leave your pet with someone new, and I focus on giving both you and your pet comfort while you’re apart—lots of love, clear communication, and updates that help you feel connected every step of the way. I live at home and work remotely, so I’m able to be with your pet throughout the day. This gives me the flexibility to stick to their routine, whether that means regular potty breaks, long walks, playtime, or just keeping them company so they never feel alone. Your pet won’t be waiting hours for attention, I’m around to give them consistent care and comfort. I live in a three bedroom home with plenty of space and a secure 6-ft fenced yard, with Ring cameras surrounding the property for added safety and peace of mind. My own dog is crate trained, friendly, and well-socialized—he loves to play but is gentle and respectful enough to give visiting dogs space when they need it. I can keep pets separate if preferred, and I have two bedrooms set up as little “pet hotels” so each dog has their own quiet, comfortable space to relax, sleep, or eat without stress. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, I follow your routines closely, communicate often, and make sure every animal feels safe, understood, and treated like family.
“Maria and Luis were so kind. Great communication, very accomodating to my last-second changes, and my dogs love their new friends. I would book with them again- highly recommend Maria and Luis!”

“Kade made my first experience with Rover a pleasant one! She followed every instruction and sent me the cutest photos! Milo had a great time on his walk and we will definitely use Kade again!”

About: I have been pet sitting for a long time with rover for about 11 years ! I’m currently living in Richmond so I would love to use my free time from work / school , pet sitting ! Also PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE leave reviews ! It helps me a lot along the way ❤️ ! It fits great because I am home mainly in weekends. Since I’m in school I can’t really travel anywhere unless it’s planned ahead ! So I’m mainly free on weekends. I care for pets the same as I care for my dogs. I don’t have them living with me for the next two years while I’m in Richmond. But I take my babies everywhere with me parks, beaches, and stores ( if allowed )
About: I’ve taken care of all kinds of animals since I was a child and have always loved it! I am unable to have a pet at this time, so spending time with other people’s pets brings me so much joy. I’m hoping to play a part in keeping your pets active, along with myself! I currently work Thursday through Sunday, with some flexibility, depending on the week. I’m available to walk your pups in the morning on any weekday and later in the day Monday through Wednesday I currently cannot have any pets in my home, but am definitely looking to walk the pups through whatever neighborhood you live in. I’ve lived in Richmond for 10 years now and am comfortable walking pretty much anywhere!
About: I’m new to Rover sitting so I don’t have any rescues yet, but I’m not new to pet sitting. I’ve had furry (scaled and feathered!) friends around me my whole life, from cats and dogs, to guinea pigs and bunnies, to fish and even birds. I also have experience with caring for sugar gliders, ironically. I’ve worked as a pet uber, and volunteered at shelters, socializing events, and cat rescues, so I’m used to all kinds of personalities, from shy snugglers, to loyal guardians, to goofy adventurers. I love them all! Let me love on your baby. I am currently an online psychology masters student and substitute teacher. Since my recent medical retirement from the military, my schedule’s become flexible, which means more walks, belly rubs, and playtime for your pets! I am willing to do meet and greets to learn pet needs and routines, or will accept any detailed written/typed outlines of care requests. You name it; whatever is best for you and your fur baby.
About: I have taken care of dogs my entire life. My family always owned dogs and I often cared for those of friends and family too. My wife and I got our own pup a year ago and it’s been a joy. I’ll care for your dog like I care for my own. I’m currently a student so I will mostly be available in the mornings and evenings when class is in but since I’m on break my schedule is wide open. I can do anything you need to take care of your pup at your house. Due to my small apartment I don’t offer boarding services but am glad to walk, crate, feed, or do anything else you need for your dog. All sizes welcome as I have a smaller dog but grew up with big ones.
“Katherine is wonderful! Clearly a dog lover - she takes extra care and time to get to know your pup and make them feel comfortable around her. We use her for daily walks and are so glad we found her.”

“Lauren has been walking my pup for months now and she is awesome... super dependable, flexible, and always sending great pictures/updates. Max loves her and is always so excited for his afternoon walk!”
“Adora is absolute wonderful with my baby girl. She came through in a pinch for me, put me at ease about the care my dog-child was in, loved on her and got her some sunshine while I was stuck at work. Thank you, Adora!”

Shockoe Bottom dog parents share their Rover experiences
Amanda went above and beyond! When I needed to set up a walk for Thanksgiving day on short notice, she arranged a time to come and meet me and my dog ahead of time and asked great questions. She was communicative, showed up on time, and gave my dog extra care, love, and attention after her walk. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Thank you so much!

Bethany was absolutely wonderful with my two big guys and has been great with my scheduling and time changes. She handled their size and energy with ease and clear competence; its a relief to know they’re in good hands. I’ll definitely be booking her again - she has been incredibly communicative, flexible, reliable, and consistent, and I have been very appreciative of her efforts and willingness to go above and beyond!

Sammy is the absolute best! This is the first time we have utilized a dog walking app for our sweet boy and she made us as well as him feel comfortable the entire time. We booked last minute and she was more than happy to accommodate us. We truly could not have asked for a better experience!

We've used Rover a few times previously and Bridgette was the best yet! She was so quick to respond and very flexible with our schedule (even being last minute). Our pup can be a bit vocal and hard to warm up to strangers but he loved Bridgette from the get go and she kept up with his active lifestyle! 11/10 will be reaching out again

I couldn't be happier with the care my pets babies receive from our wonderful sitter. She is incredibly reliable, always showing up when expected and following through on every request with attention and dedication. What truly sets her apart is the genuine love and compassion she shows for my pets—they adore her, and I can see they feel safe and happy in her care. She consistently goes above and beyond, doing everything I ask with great care and responsibility. She's also flexible, which has been a lifesaver more than once when my schedule changed unexpectedly. Most importantly, I trust her completely—both with my beloved pets and in my home. I’m truly grateful to have found someone so trustworthy and caring, and I look forward to a long relationship with her. Highly recommend!
