“Elijah did a great job taking care of our brand new puppy! He gave our pup Boone great care (according to our current training plan) and made sure to update us with pictures and a summary of his visit. Thank you so much, Elijah!”

“Jessie went above and beyond to get to Winnie and give her a couple great walks and provide great feedback. A snow wall was not enough to keep him away. Thrilled with our first rover experience thanks to him!”

“We are so lucky to have met Maddy! She is fantastic, flexible, reliable and most of all great with Mo!! Took him no time to get comfortable with her and enjoys her visits! Absolutely love how she gives me a report and fun photos after her visit!”

“Allison has done a great job when checking in on our puppy, and made us feel as comfortable as possible that he is being cared for while we are at work. She has been communicative and attentive with Boone in all check ins, especially as he has had some unexpected neurological health issues come up. She has been flexible, easy to work with, and we have felt gone above and beyond with care for Boone.”

“Excellent provider! She was great with our dogs! And she was patient with our little guy who’s terrified of strangers and often acts out. We will definitely hire her again!”

“Not to be dramatic, but Louise is the best dog sitter I’ve ever had! My pup, Dolly, absolutely loves her and she’s always providing the sweetest most thoughtful updates and cute pictures. I always know Dolly will be well taken care of with Louise. I work long days in the summer months, so I need someone to give her exercise and attention during the day when I can’t. With other sitters I would come home and Dolly would still seem wound up, but she seems like she’s getting exactly what she needs with Louise. Couldn’t be happier with her!”

About: For eight years, I volunteered with the Wake County Animal Center in Raleigh, NC, where I fostered 60 dogs—from newborn puppies to senior dogs and every age and personality in between. While I’m not a certified dog trainer, I’ve worked with pups who had anxiety, reactivity, resource guarding, medical needs, and even deafness (I taught one dog 15 different signs!). I’ve handled recovery care after surgery, heartworm treatment, skin and eye issues, potty training, and medication routines that required attention multiple times a day. I feel confident and comfortable with any dog—big or small, shy or hyper, special needs or seniors. I haven’t had to give injectable medication before, but I’m completely comfortable learning and have no hesitation. I work part-time as an assistant for a local Asheville artist. I’m often able to adjust my hours around your pet’s needs, especially for midday walks, extended stays, or regular check-ins. Pet care isn’t just something I fit into my day—it’s a huge part of what makes me feel grounded, happy, and fulfilled. I haven’t fostered since moving to Asheville, and working with dogs again is a way I’m reconnecting with that part of myself. I share custody of three senior dogs—now 14, 13, and 12—and they’ve been with me most of their lives. My 13-year-old tripod, a boxer-hound mix, lives with me full-time and is my best friend. Because of him, I’m especially tuned into the needs of older or special-needs pets. At home, I live in an apartment with three private dog parks on the property. They’re usually empty, which gives us a safe place to play, run, or just sniff around. For boarding, your dog will need to meet mine first to ensure everyone vibes well together. In your home, I always do a meet & greet beforehand to get to know your pet and their environment, plus give you a chance to get to know me. Through my years of volunteering at a busy municipal shelter, I’ve developed a strong ability to read dog body language—whether that means giving space to a nervous dog, redirecting rough play, or stepping in safely if a situation escalates. I also know how to interrupt and break up dog fights safely, though I do everything possible to prevent them from happening in the first place! Your pet’s comfort and safety, and mine, are my top priorities- wherever we are.

About: I have pet and house sit for many years, all types of breeds and different kinds of animals, from young & elderly dogs to farm animals to reptiles to rodents to cats. I have experience giving medication, from pills to eardrops to topical ointments & special washes to supplements. Deep presence and compassion are important pieces to the work I do in the world and I will bring these qualities in caring for your family. With a bit of notice, I can adapt my availability to these clients to fit our agreement. I have been taking care of others homes for years. I know it is ones sanctuary and treat it as such. I am known to leave the places I stay cleaner than I found them.

“Amber is absolutely AMAZING! Just moving to Florida I was worried leaving my animals with just anyone. Amber insured me they would be in great hands and they were! My cats took a liking to her instantly and she kept me up up to date every day with pictures and videos of my sweet girls. If you are looking for your next pet sitter, Amber is the one for you!”

About: I was a proud pit bull mom for 10 years. Sugar was 70ish pounds of cuddly, slightly neurotic sweetness. Since she passed, I’ve been promoted to Dog Aunt for friends’ pups of all shapes and sizes. Whether it’s a beefy blockhead or a tiny teddy bear on four legs, I bring belly rubs, structure, and plenty of love. I’m up for extended walks, couch snuggles, ball tosses and sticking to your training plan. Basically, I show up like the fun aunt, with treats, patience, and good shoes. After 15 years in the classroom, I’m stepping away from teaching and giving myself space to explore what’s next. In the meantime, I’ve found that caring for pets offers its own kind of therapy—fresh air, wagging tails, and the joy of connection. Dog walking fits beautifully into this season of my life. I’m available most days (except Mondays and Saturdays) and have a highly flexible schedule. Whether your pup needs a midday stroll or an afternoon adventure, I’m happy to be there. I care for pets in their homes and on walks by following their routines closely, whether it’s feeding, playtime, cuddles, or just keeping them company in their favorite cozy spot. I bring calm, consistent energy so your pet feels safe and cared for while you’re away. On walks, I match your dog’s pace and personalits. I'm happy embarking on sniffy strolls or power walks. I’m also happy to take pups on longer “field trip” hikes if they need extra exercise or adventure. I don’t currently have pets of my own, so your dog gets my full attention—and all the love they can handle.

“Super satisfied with Vern and her check ins with my dogs. She sent photos at every visit and made me feel in the loop and safe while I was away. Would definitely use her again and suggest her to anyone with fur children!”

Megan S.
“I’m happy to recommend Megan as a pet sitter on Rover.com. We first met her when she was fostering the dog we later adopted, and it was immediately clear how deeply she cares for animals. Her gentle nature, patience, and genuine love for pets made a lasting impression on us. When we adopted our dog Megan impressed me when she visited our home with the dog to ensure we would be a good fit. After 8 years she still check in with us to see how our dog is doing and even drove 4 hours to attend a birthday party we had for our dog and her two brothers my good friend adopted at the same time. t’s rare to find someone so naturally in tune with animals' needs. Whether it’s a high-energy pup or a shy senior dog, she seems to understand exactly how to make them feel comfortable and loved. Anyone who trusts Megan with their pets can rest assured they’ll be in excellent hands. She’s responsible, compassionate, and truly treats every animal like her own.”

Milendi O.
“Milendi (Milen as we call her) loves animals! Her best friend, a Yorkshire Terrier named Pablo passed in 2024 at the age of 12 and she is still missing him everyday. The hole in her heart from Pablo's passing is filled by fostering dogs and helping out other owners through gigs on Rover. You couldn't leave your animal in better hands than Milen.”
