About: I've loved taking care of pets since I was young. It all started with Pandora, our fun Shi Tzu mix. I took care of her from when I was 9 until she passed away when I was 25, she was 17 years old. After Pandora, our home always had pets. Right now, I have two cats, Ghost and Oliver, who are both 3 years old. I also help take care of my brother's German Shepherd, Koda, who's 4 years old, when he's away. Since I got my driver's license at 17, I've been looking after pets for friends and family. I make sure they're safe and happy while their owners are away. Pet safety is super important to me, so I always double-check everything and follow all the rules to keep them safe. I work from home so my schedule is extremely flexible, for the most part I make my own schedule. I am available during most reasonable times and can easily stop working when I need to. When I visit pets at their homes, I always follow the rules set by their owners to make sure everything goes smoothly and safely. I check fenced areas to ensure all gates are closed and locked. At my own home, I've made sure it's safe and comfortable for pets. I have a special area in my backyard where pets can play and relax without any dangers. I also follow any special instructions from pet owners to keep their pets happy and healthy while they're with me. PLEASE NOTE: For boarding, for the safety of my pets and your pets I will crate your dog when I am away from the house. I also do not let dogs sleep on my bed anymore but they are more than welcome to sleep on my bedroom floor.

She is a Search and Rescue Canine Handler and has been a professional trainer at the Penn Vet Working Dog Center for over 8 years, where she raises and trains search and rescue and law enforcement dogs from 8 weeks old to their graduation as finished canine partners using positive reinforcement methods. Her talents shine through whether she is working with the biggest, bitiest Malinois or a sensitive shy dog. She has the patience, compassion, and skill to bring out confidence in every learner. Katie D.
“My pets are considered my “babies” and it’s important for my pet sitter to understand and treat them the same way. Katie is an amazing pet sitter who treats my cats as if they are her own. She takes the time to learn about each one’s needs and makes it a priority to spend quality time with each one. Katie doesn’t hesitate to do whatever is needed to make your pets feel cared for. She handles medicine like a pro, stays overnight if needed, keeps me updated with photos and videos, and truly loves what she does. I can’t recommend Katie enough. She has strong experience with animals, has a quiet and gentle demeanor (which my cats love), and is dedicated and reliable. When I leave my “babies” in her hands, I am confident they are in the best care possible. Katie is fabulous - I am so lucky to have her!”
