About: I’m a lifelong animal lover and have had rescue dogs and cats most of my life. My current furry children are Roscoe, a 13-lb terrier mix, and Onyx, my sweet senior cat—both rescues with big personalities. I’ve been pet sitting for friends and family for years, and I’ve also volunteered at animal shelters and fostered, so I’m especially comfortable with rescue pets who might need a little extra patience and care. Whether it’s snuggles on the couch, slow introductions, or a consistent routine, I try to make every pet feel safe, relaxed, and at home. I know how important it is to leave your pets with someone you trust, and I treat every animal like they’re part of the family. Happy to chat or answer any questions! Since I work from home full-time, I’m around throughout the day to give pets lots of attention, playtime, and snuggles. My daily routine is pretty calm and consistent—perfect for dogs who enjoy a steady environment and regular companionship. Walks, meals, and downtime all fit easily into my schedule. I do occasionally travel for work, but I always block off my calendar during those times so there’s no overlap or surprises. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. At my home, I offer a calm, low-stress environment with plenty of human company (since I work from home) and a fenced-in yard for safe outdoor time. I only take a limited number of pets at once so I can give each one the attention and care they deserve. I live in a quiet, dog-friendly neighborhood that’s great for walks, and I always keep dogs leashed unless we’re in the secure yard. I’m very mindful of introductions with my own pets—Roscoe is friendly and used to sharing his space, and my senior cat Onyx knows how to keep to herself. Whether it’s sticking to your pet’s usual routine, giving medications, or just offering a cozy space to relax, I do everything I can to help animals feel safe, settled, and loved while you’re away.

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, growing up surrounded by pets and caring for them every day. They’ve always been a big part of my life, and my passion for animals has only grown over the years. Taking care of pets comes naturally to me, and it’s something I truly enjoy. Being a dog sitter would be the perfect job because it allows me to do what I love most — caring for and connecting with animals. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I make sure to schedule regular feeding times, walks, and play sessions to keep the dogs happy and healthy. I also set aside time for grooming and any special care instructions provided by the owner. Staying consistent with their routine helps the dogs feel comfortable and secure, and I always make time for extra cuddles and attention to build trust and keep them relaxed. I follow the pet’s routine closely, whether in my home or the client’s. I provide regular feeding, walks, and playtime to keep them comfortable and happy. I ensure they have a clean, safe space and give plenty of attention and care. I also keep owners updated to give them peace of mind.

About: I have been watching animals for friends and family since I was a kid. I thoroughly enjoy checking in on animals and getting to know them. I am pretty flexible, but I can play with your dog/cat, take them on a walk, administer medicine as needed, feed them, etc. I am available mornings and afternoons during the week. I will keep any key/code provided for entry safe, and I will take off my shoes as I come inside! I will also of course clean up any messes left by the pet as best as I can. I will respect your home as my own!

About: I've had dogs just about my entire life (since I was 2), including a variety of breeds, sizes and personalities. I've handled dogs who may try to escape, dogs who eat everything in sight — and better behaved ones, too. :) I also personally have an elderly cat and two Guinea pigs in addition to my own dog (a "shelter special" pit mix). I've also pet sit for fish and rabbits before. I have a dog, cat and two Guinea pigs and home who need to be cared for at least twice per day, so animal care is part of my normal routine. I'm happy to add your pet to the mix as needed. My schedule can be pretty flexible. I've had a dog run away (from a pet sitter, ironically, when I was on the West Coast). It was a nightmare, and I don't want anyone to ever go through that. (Our dog was found, safe, after 9 days on the run.). Because I know exactly how awful that is, I'm extra super careful with doors, leashes, cars, collars, etc.

“Angela was AMAZING!!! Seriously a life saver. We were gone for our wedding and honeymoon and she took care of our cats and the house as we asked for. Super sweet. Thank you so much ♡”

“Ciara was great! We were gone for a couple of days and needed someone to check in on our cats. She was communicative and the cats were well taken care of while we were gone.”

About: HI! My name is Kiera and I’m a 25-year-old architect. I love spending time with dogs and seeing them out in public. I have one cat who bring me joy every day. I have volunteered at an animal shelter, where I cared for cats and walked puppies and dogs that required special training. I am athletic and so can go on runs or hikes with your dog if he or she is especially active. I can’t wait to meet you and your pets! I’m currently working part-time so I have a ton of availability and flexibility. I am usually not available on Tuesdays (all day) and Sunday afternoons. My cat is quite sensitive and shy, so I am familiar with how to deal with any dogs and cats who are hesitant towards new people.

About: Shortly after starting to work in animal sheltering in 2009, dear friends asked if I would walk/sit for their Newfoundland puppy while they were on vacation. Everyone involved had a wonderful experience. Before I knew it, I was a known Dog Uncle - there was no going back 😎 I'm thrilled to offer my years of experience to anyone who might want them! I have hours logged with more breeds than I recall - Newfoundlands, pugs, labs, pit pulls, bull dogs (American and British), beagles, poodles, dalmations, chihuahuas...your dog's individual personality and needs are always the TOP concern when you trust them into my care. Since June of 2018 I've performed over 2,000 dog walks all over Fairfax, Alexandria and Arlington via my own business and other sources. References and photos from previous clients are available! Pets are a bedrock of my life, from waking up with my cat Vesta next to me to the joy of opening a client's door to a dog very excited to see you. Pets are what I do. “Wow — I cannot say enough great things about Kimberly! She has watched my dog Finn who can be quite a handful, and she is always so patient, kind and quick with pets and snuggles! Kimberly is thorough and thoughtful when it comes to taking care of Finn (and our cat, Desi, too!). She makes leaving our pets so much easier, whether it’s a quick over night or a longer trip. “Patrick has walked my dog Phoebe for almost a year now and has done such an amazing job! I added another girl to the to the family and he was able to handle both. Phoebe is mostly blind and he has been so wonderful with making sure she feels safe and comfortable. He has done the same with Maxine, who can be a little timid at times. He is very responsive and has been very flexible with my schedule. I highly recommend him for any fur-baby!”
