“Colleen did an excellent job taking care of our 3 Beagle fur babies! Each pup has a unique personality and she gave them each the attention they needed. They all ate while we were gone which was shocking, usually they don’t. She shared lots of pics and kept us informed on their care! Highly recommend her!”

“Tracy was a great dog and house sitter. She kept me updated on a regular basis, and I felt like our pup was in good hands. Really appreciate the peace of mind while we had to be away.”

“Julian was the best! Super communicative and send doggie updates daily. He followed the instructions I left behind to a T. He was also on time and punctual. I would absolutely recommend him and will be booking with him again!”

“Savannah did a great job with my two large dogs. I was out of the state for a week and didn’t have to worry about the girls at all. I will be using her again in the near future and would recommend her to anybody for housesitting and pet sitting.”

“Jessica did a wonderful job with our two dogs while we were away. She was prompted with the request, meet and greet and booking. She provided several updates and photos while we were gone. We will most defiantly utilize her services again.”

About: With over 25 years of experience caring for animals, I bring a lifetime of love, patience, and hands-on knowledge to every pet I care for. From energetic puppies to gentle senior pets, I’ve nurtured animals through every stage of life. Our home is filled with kindness and activity—my three children have grown up around animals and share my deep love and respect for them. Whether your pet needs playful attention, a cozy cuddle, or a calm and reliable routine, you can trust that they’ll be treated like family in our care. As a homeschooling family, we have a flexible and consistent schedule that allows us to be home throughout the week. This makes it easy to provide attentive, reliable care for pets without the disruption of a traditional 9–5 job. Pet sitting fits naturally into our daily rhythm—whether it’s walking a dog, feeding and checking in on animals, or offering companionship and playtime, we’re available and present. My kids also enjoy helping (with supervision), adding extra love and attention to the care we provide. In my home, pets are treated like part of the family. I provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment where they can feel relaxed and loved. Whether they’re staying for a day or a week, I make sure they have plenty of playtime, exercise, and snuggles—along with any specific care or routines they’re used to. I follow feeding schedules, administer medications if needed, and keep owners updated with photos and messages so they know their pets are happy and well cared for.
“If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Madison made me feel at ease, this is the first time I left Buddy with anyone. Buddy sleeps in bed with me so Madison slept in my bed so Buddy wasn't alone at night. Thank you so much!!!!”

“Courtney was really sweet. She took very good care of Luna. Luna got comfortable with her immediately. I highly recommended Courtney to take care of your fur friend. She was also flexible with the hours. We felt very comfortable and happy”

About: I had a large sized dog for most of my life and grew up with her from the age of a puppy until she passed away my freshman year of high school to old age. She was a pit/lab mix and I loved running with her, cuddling when she was tired, and even allowing her to "play" with me while I do yoga. I have so much love for animals, as I believe they are true reciprocates of unconditional love. I would love to spend time with your animals while you need them cared for. I am an opera singer and voice teacher. Finally, I guess a special skill would be I love relaxation techniques such as yoga, music, sound healing etc, and animals are so attuned to these activities that I could even provide a healing experience for your pet :) Currently available any time. I work from home and have flexibility in my job so very available to tend to pets! I have cared for many more pets than I have reviews you can see some of the doggos in my photos :) I am extremely compassionate and really like to provide that space for an animal to feel safe and welcome in my company. I like to build a relationship with animals and eventually find a language of communication where we seem to “get” each other.

About: I’ve been around pets my whole life, especially dogs. Some as small as my mom‘s Chihuahua, to dogs as big as my sister‘s great mastiffs. Ive cared for all types of pets and would love to meet many more! Recently I’ve started working part time but I’m open to work around that! I try to be as flexible as I can. If you’d like me to drop in to feed, walk, or watch your pet, I’ll be available. Whatever type of routine your pets have I’m down to follow it. Lots of pets I’ve worked with have specific eating routines, as well as walking routines, I’m here to learn what works best for you.
About: I have been officially pet sitting for about 3 years but I have had many animals since I was a little girl. I am a veterinary technician and have been for 4.5 years so I am no stranger to administering medications and even giving insulin to pets. I currently have 3 cats and a dog. I work full time (off Tuesdays and I work one Saturday a month) so if your pets are not comfortable being home alone for 4-5 hours then I am not the right fit for you. If your pet loves to cuddle I am all for it! I have no problem with being covered in fur. If you have a specific regiment for your fur babies I will be glad to follow all instructions and specifics; I very much appreciate lists and written instructions. I love taking fur babies for pup cups especially! (If allowed of course)
“Alexis is fantastic. We have booked with her before to watch our pup and we always feel at ease. She respects and follows rules and instructions for our puppy down to the detail. Our puppy had a great day with her and was in good hands! Will be booking again!”

“Caitlyn went above and beyond with our pets. We were able to rest assured that they were in good hands. She was also willing to help us last minute and we couldn't have asked for more.”

“Kathleen (Kara) to us, was absolutely fabulous. Rosie adored her and is now.looming for her. She sent photos daily. Checked in often with updates. Left my home cleaner than I left it to her. She is reliable, respectful and more important great with my Rosie! Definitely would recommend her.k”

“Natalia was truly the BEST Rover sitter we could have ever hoped for. From the moment we left, she was incredibly communicative, responsive, thoughtful, and caring — and she treated our home and fur babies like they were her own. We have three dogs and a cat, and every single one of them was so loved and well cared for while we were away. One of our pups ended up having an unexpected flea issue and was super itchy while she was staying with them, and Natalia immediately stepped in and handled everything with so much care and compassion. She bathed all three dogs, made sure they were comfortable, and kept us updated every step of the way. It gave us such peace of mind knowing they were in such capable and loving hands. On top of taking amazing care of the animals, she went completely above and beyond with our home. She did laundry, swept, cleaned, remade the bed, and left the house better than we left it. You can genuinely tell she is the kind of person who respects and cares for other people’s space. Natalia is kind, trustworthy, attentive, responsible, and an absolute pleasure to work with. We felt so comfortable having her in our home and caring for the members of our family we love most. I honestly cannot recommend her highly enough. Anyone looking for a sitter who will love your pets deeply, communicate wonderfully, and care for your home with incredible respect should book her immediately. She is an absolute gem and we would trust her again in a heartbeat. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

About: I’ve been around all different kinds of animals my whole life! I’ve been taking care of my close friends and families animals for as long as I can remember! This includes experience in house sitting and caring for the animals needs! Animals can’t speak to us verbally so it is important to pay attention to their needs and wants. I take animals seriously and treat all of them how I do mine! I am a server at a restaurant and have a very flexible schedule! My shifts are typically at night and last about 5 hours! I typically have my days open! My personal pets are very spoiled! I have two dogs and I take them on walks, to the park, on the boat, etc. I snuggle them any minute I can! They are my main priority- I treat their needs as I do my own. This also transfers over to my clients pets! Like I’ve previously stated, I treat all animals as I do my own!
“We’re so happy we found Ashland. She watched our dogs overnight and did an amazing job following all of our instructions. She was caring and kept us updated, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. Our pup absolutely loved her. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Brianne was amazing with our chaotic, nutty furry bunch! We left her with our trio of cats and the dynamic duo of dogs, for a total of five. The first thing we noticed was how all of our furry ones were drawn to her. Animals just know if a person is good. Being away is hard, but it feels better when you have someone you can trust to love you while you're gone. My wife and I had complete peace of mind with her caring for our babies. Brianne is the BEST!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Scottsmoor on Rover is $32.1 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,718 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Scottsmoor. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Scottsmoor walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Scottsmoor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Scottsmoor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
