“ANELY is an AMAZING sitter!!!! She kept me in the loop with Henny’s time with her. I received pictures and updates on how she was doing! Henny’s behavior when I picked her up both days can tell me she had a good time and the plus side she was able to mingle with her son and OTHER PUPS!!!! Thank you a lot for taking care of my baby!!!”

“Jessica is a GEM!!!! I was nervous about finding someone to take care of my pup who can be nervous in new situations/people and had some health stuff going on, but Jessica did everything to make her feel comfortable and cared for, and now my girl LOVES hanging out with Jessica and Abu!! Jessica also did everything to make ME, nervous dog mom, comfortable by sending lots of sweet videos and pictures of my pup having a grand ol' time. Jessica is the best!”

“We’ve had a great experience with Trish. Gizmo is still new to us and can be sensitive with transitions, and she has been incredibly patient, calm, and accommodating from the start. He settles while he’s there (even if he hasn’t slept yet), and it’s clear he feels safe and well cared for. She’s kind, attentive, and truly understands dogs who need a little extra gentleness. I’m so grateful to have found someone I trust and feel comfortable leaving him with. Highly recommend!”

“Very welcoming host, nice big backyard, kept us updated with numerous photos. Wasn't sure our dog would line being around other dogs but it worked out well.”

“My pup was happy with Elba. Sent pictures and videos. Gave treats. When I picked him up I could tell that he was happy and liked her. Will be using her services again.”

“Our sweet pup had so much fun with Marie and her husband for the days we booked. So much more joy and excitement we haven't seen in her in the mornings getting ready to go for the day to her new friend's house and more still when she was ready to come home. Will only trust this couple with our baby.”

“Keasha was great! She watched my 4 month old puppy for the day and he had a great time. He is a little shy and she really helped him gain more confidence. He came home exhausted after a fun day of walks, playing outside, and cuddles.”

“As always Leanne and Michael do an amazing job with Teddy. We have nothing to worry about when we leave him with them. She takes care of him like she does her own Bailey!”

I live in a quiet walkable neighborhood which allows us to take leisurely walks and a big fully fenced in back yard. I also have a dog door that leads out into a fully enclosed Dog Pen to access anytime for the potty. Pets are part of our families, and I know it’s important to make them feel comfortable and keep them safe at all times which will give you peace of mind while you are away. About: I grew up with black lab mixes, having at least one dog in the house all the time. I helped to raise two of the family black lab puppies through 15 years and care for the next generation, a 2 year old black lab/border collie rescue pup, teaching her to sit and lay down. I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs over the past few years, learning patience from puppies, strength from sweet old ladies, and the careful nuance that comes with leash aggressive rescues. I now have an adopted a rescue greyhound in the family. She loves new friends but is also perfectly happy cat napping wherever her bed lands. Happy to host or walk, with or without her company. I’m full time at home and so I am free to do breaks and provide limited entertainment between meetings, which are never more than 1.5h. This is the schedule I provide my own pup and would extend to others. I treat them as my own. I prefer to be over communicative with owners if any potential issues arise as well. Greyhounds react particularly poorly to negative feedback and punishment, so patience and focus on pawsitivity (particularly treats) is a standard with me.

About: I truly treat pets like family, maybe even more. Caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I’ve had dogs for as long as I can remember, and I’ve personally trained and cared for them throughout the years. I currently have two cats as well, so I’m very comfortable managing different types of pets and personalities. I volunteer in a shelter twice a month to help with walks and play time. I walk my dog once or twice a day and maintain a consistent routine, which helps pets feel safe, active, and happy. I also have experience around farm animals, since my mom has a farm in Brazil, where I’ve spent time helping care for a variety of animals. This has given me a broader understanding of animal behavior and needs. What sets me apart is my attentiveness and genuine love for animals. I work from home with a flexible schedule, so your pet will receive plenty of attention, supervision, and care throughout the day, including weekends. I’m also very detail-oriented when it comes to following your instructions, whether it’s feeding routines, medications, or special care for puppies or senior pets. Communication is very important to me. I’ll make sure to keep you updated and ensure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved at all times. Your pet will be welcomed into a calm, caring environment, just like part of the family. I work from home, so I’m usually around and available throughout the day. I walk my dog in the morning, around lunchtime, and again in the evening, which helps keep a consistent routine. Because I’m home most of the time, I’m able to give pets plenty of attention, care, and supervision. If I step away, it’s usually just for a short call or meeting, so your pet will never be left alone for long. I’ll care for your pet just like I do my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after. I’m also always available to answer any questions and keep you updated during the day. Pets in my home are treated like family and are free to move around and feel comfortable. I live in a two-level raised ranch with plenty of space, and my pets are friendly and used to being around other animals. My dog and cats get along well, so visiting pets can feel relaxed and part of the environment. I also have a fenced yard where pets can safely enjoy some outdoor time. That said, I always follow each owner’s preferences, if your dog needs to be crated, kept on a specific routine, or has any special instructions, I’m happy to accommodate. My neighborhood is quiet and safe, with many dog owners nearby, which makes it a great environment for walks and daily activity. And I also work as a volunteer in a shelter and I’m very used to different types of dogs. Above all, I prioritize safety, supervision, and making sure your pet feels secure and at home.
“You should just see how excited and happy our Leo is when he sees her. That tells you everything. We will continue to book daycare and boarding with Dani and I would recommend you do too. Daniella”

“When I tell Bentley he is going to see Lisa he gets very excited! She has two dogs that Bentley Loves! She treats Bentley as if he is her own dog. We will use her often, she is great!”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with years of experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. Whether your pet is playful, shy, or somewhere in between, I’m confident in creating a calm, loving environment that fits their needs. I work from home full-time, which means your pet will have plenty of attention throughout the day—and with a beautiful park right next door, daily walks and outdoor time are part of our regular routine. I genuinely treat every pet like my own, giving them the care, affection, and respect they deserve. Looking forward to meeting your furry family member! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine since I work from home and have a flexible schedule. I start the day with morning walks (the park next door is perfect for that), and I build in time for play, feeding, potty breaks, and snuggles throughout the day. Evenings usually include a final walk and some wind-down time. Whether it’s a short visit or overnight care, I make sure each pet gets plenty of attention and care woven into my day like they’re part of the family. In my home, I create a safe, calm, and pet-friendly space where your pet can feel comfortable and cared for. I stick to their usual routine as much as possible—walks, feeding times, play, and rest—to help them settle in easily. I live next to a park, so daily walks and outdoor time are a big part of our day. Pets have full access to cozy spaces, and I’m always nearby since I work from home.
“Abigail was great! Cricket had such a good time meeting and playing with all the other dogs that Abigail walks and takes care of. She sent lots of pictures and it was such a relief knowing our pup was in good hands during the day. Thanks!!”

About: I have years of experience caring for my own dogs daily, so I’m used to feeding, walks, playtime, and keeping things clean and safe. I pay attention to each pet’s routine and make sure they stay comfortable and relaxed while you’re away. I have open availability because I work from home during the week. My partner is also home, so your pet won’t be left alone and will always have attention and care. I have a fenced-in backyard with lots of space for them to run and play. I also have two friendly dogs who love to play, so your pet will have company and a safe, comfortable space while they’re here.
“Isabel took wonderful care of Dexter this week! We so enjoyed her thoughtful and informative daily updates. She made sure he was comfortable, following his usual daily schedule and fostering positive and playful interactions with her dog Griggs. Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in RI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
