Our dog can be strong willed and will take advantage of his size if he thinks he can get away with it. I initially chose Rich/aka Kemba on Rover because his profile pic was with an Akita! Regardless of that, Kemba was the perfect match for Rocky! He sent us some photos of their adventures out and about, and a sweet video walking (with a loose leash, no one was being pulled like a kite!) with a friend's dog. Our drop off and pickup was super smooth. Kemba made a suggestion for our meeting location that made it easy and he delivered Rocky to us at our Airbnb at the end of the afternoon. About: I grew up with black lab mixes, having at least one dog in the house all the time. I helped to raise two of the family black lab puppies through 15 years and care for the next generation, a 2 year old black lab/border collie rescue pup, teaching her to sit and lay down. I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs over the past few years, learning patience from puppies, strength from sweet old ladies, and the careful nuance that comes with leash aggressive rescues. I now have an adopted a rescue greyhound in the family. She loves new friends but is also perfectly happy cat napping wherever her bed lands. Happy to host or walk, with or without her company. I’m full time at home and so I am free to do breaks and provide limited entertainment between meetings, which are never more than 1.5h. This is the schedule I provide my own pup and would extend to others. I treat them as my own. I prefer to be over communicative with owners if any potential issues arise as well. Greyhounds react particularly poorly to negative feedback and punishment, so patience and focus on pawsitivity (particularly treats) is a standard with me.

About: I’ve had pets since I was young & have always been a big animal nut. I’ve had all kinds of animals as an adult once I was on my own, including cats, dogs, ferrets, bearded dragons, rats, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, & bunnies! And I’ve loved them all greatly! I’m also a mom to 2 teens so I’m used to messy, fast-paced days & thinking quick on my feet. I volunteer at my town’s animal shelter & I have also been trusted to sit for friends’ pets (which included farm animals). My biggest concern for any animal is their safety & well-being (both physical & mental). I am self-employed & am lucky enough to choose my hours, so I have wide availability. I do have a child that I drive to & from school but I’m open to discussing what your needs are & how to make it all work. I’m ready to give your animal everything they need & am comfortable with most anything, including cleanup, feedings, habitat cleaning, & medications. I believe in respecting your home & privacy — I’m just in it to care for your family member!
About: I have both the education and the experience to take excellent care of your pet! I have a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, but more importantly I have the lifelong love and experience for pet care. I have taken care of a wide variety of animals, including but not limited to dogs, cats, reptiles, rodents, and fish. I have had a dog at home for my entire life, and I have personally kept reptiles and fish as pets. I am able to administer medication as needed or other medical tasks like cleaning ears or wounds. I would love to meet your pet and give them the best experience while you’re away. My schedule is currently open to whatever your needs are! I would love to take on some drop-ins or get outside with your pup and stretch our legs! I have a secured runner in my backyard, and I can confidently restrain and crate pets as needed in the home or on walks. I want to make sure that I keep your critter safe and healthy while they’re in my care.

“Another wonderful stay at Debby’s! Our 1.5 year old poodle (Mookie) just returned from his second Rover stay with Debby. I enjoyed perfect peace of mind during my family’s 4 day trip thanks to all the updates, photos, and videos that she sends each day. I could see that he was eating, playing energetically with the other dogs (in her grassy fenced-in yard), napping on the cool floor on a hot day (just like he does at home), and cuddling up on the couch with Debby in the evenings. At pick up and drop off, it is clear that Mookie adores Debby, and that they have their own special connection.
