She messaged frequently in the first 24 hours to keep us updated on how Mookie was settling in, and sent plenty of photos during the entire stay. We could tell from the photos that he was clearly comfortable in his home-away-from-home. He and Toby were great playmates in the fenced-in backyard, and he Devorat were fast friends, with plenty of couch cuddle-time. Knowing Mookie was well cared for really helped us enjoy our family trip. In addition to her care and attention to Mookie, Devorat also offered accommodation and flexibility in the drop-off and pick-up scheduling to make things as easy as possible for us as we nailed down our travel plans at the last minute. I really appreciated her communication throughout the visit, and I could tell from her updates that she was really taking time to get to know our dog, and that he was in the best possible hands. We already plan to book with Devorat again soon!”

“Jessica and Justin are wonderful friendly, energetic people. I felt completely at ease leaving my dog with them and their own dog. We met ahead of time to be sure everyone liked each other. After dropping off my dog I asked if she could possibly trim his nails. I had made a grooming appointment but it wasn't for another 2 weeks, and my dog was slipping on hard wood floors. She happily offer to see if her groomer could squeeze him in for a quick nail trim. She was able to and I paid a small fee to the groomer. I plan to bring Charlie back for any future trips. A+ experience!”

About: My first pet I’ve ever had was a cat. Her name was Mandy. My parents got her as a kitten around the same time I was born. She was a beautiful tortoise shell who had such a loving but spunky personality. She was what made my love for cats grow stronger. Since 2015. My family and I began fostering litters of cats as well as dogs. Some of the litters of kittens we fostered were orphaned, so we had to bottle feed them until they were old enough to eat normal food. I like to think I have a personality similar to a cat, which is why I bond with cats so much!

About: I grew up with black lab mixes, having at least one dog in the house all the time. I helped to raise two of the family black lab puppies through 15 years and care for the next generation, a 2 year old black lab/border collie rescue pup, teaching her to sit and lay down. I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs over the past few years, learning patience from puppies, strength from sweet old ladies, and the careful nuance that comes with leash aggressive rescues. I now have an adopted a rescue greyhound in the family. She loves new friends but is also perfectly happy cat napping wherever her bed lands. Happy to host or walk, with or without her company. I’m full time at home and so I am free to do breaks and provide limited entertainment between meetings, which are never more than 1.5h. This is the schedule I provide my own pup and would extend to others. I treat them as my own. I prefer to be over communicative with owners if any potential issues arise as well. Greyhounds react particularly poorly to negative feedback and punishment, so patience and focus on pawsitivity (particularly treats) is a standard with me.

As for dogs- your dog and I will always take the quieter and less busy route and avoid people and other pets to prevent any unfavorable mishaps. A fenced-in yard is always preferred for playtime, but if you do not have a fenced-in yard than your dog will always be on the leash while we are outside to prevent any runaways. If you have instructions to put your dog in their crate upon leaving, I will always make sure they go into their crate comfortably and latch the hooks completely. In regards to cats, when entering and exiting the house I use extreme caution to make sure the cats do not run outside. I am also Pet CPR and Pet First Aid certified so you can rest assure that your pet would be well tended to if an urgent situation were to arise.

Being homeschooled for a majority of my childhood, I was able to learn about taking care of these needy animals at such a young age. We have fostered dogs and cats of almost all ages, from newborns to adults. About: I have two dogs of my own that I’ve had since puppy-hood. Ever since I was a kid, my heart would joyously melt in front of any and every four legged friend. I love getting to know other animals, and take care of them as if they were my own. I got my start pet sitting by looking after my friends and neighbors’ dogs and cats on occasion. At present, my longest cat sitting gig was 3 weeks straight in which I stayed with my fur friend for ~6-8 hours a day just to keep her company. I work remotely, so my workstation is mobile. In this was I can make most pet-sitting tasks and hours work— while assuring your pets have company, enrichment, and supervision. (As an aside, I go by both Vera and Amanda and use them interchangably) I work remotely 10am-6pm monday-friday. Ideally, i prefer to visit pets and take care of them anytime before 10am, but my calendar is very flexible. My workstation is mobile, so if desired, I can keep your pet company for extended periods of time during the day. I’m also available all day on the weeknds. I have 2 dogs that I love dearly and walk 2-3 times every single day at routine times. I brush them frequently, I strap on little booties for their paws daily to protect them from the hot pavement, and I play with them to their little hearts content.
About: Growing up I always had a dog or two. I've been working at a dog daycare facility professionally for 8 years. During my time there, I've taken care of various puppies to their adulthood and senior dogs. Since the facility is cage-free, I dedicate myself to ensuring the dogs have fun, are safe, and love in our care. Currently, I have two medium and large dogs who constantly love to play, whether it is water play in the backyard, going on walks, frisbee or just relaxing in our backyard! I'm currently a college student on summer break, which gives me plenty of time to provide attentive care for your pets. I only work part-time for a few hours a day, so your pet will receive lots of attention, playtime, potty breaks, and companionship throughout their stay. I also work part-time at a dog daycare facility, giving me experience with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and play styles. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. My two dogs are very friendly and social with other dogs. I have a two-level yard, a six-foot fence all around the yard, and a door your pups can easily access to potty or play. I can also provide in-house food unless your pups have allergies and need to improvise. My house is cage free but if you’d like your pet to be crate I can improvise that.

About: I worked in a dog daycare/boarding facility for 2 years - I learned about dog behavior, fed dogs and administered medication, while making sure they were loved and cared for! I am currently in my last semester at URI and will continue work in Rhode Island for around the next two years so I have plenty of time and flexibility for your pets! I will always be cautious coming into a pet's environment but will try to make them as comfortable as possible. It is always important for me to take care of the client's home as well as their pet the best I possibly can!
About: I've had dogs all my life from old to puppies! My friends and family ask me to watch their animals all the time while they go on vacations and I absolutely love it. I currently have a 7 year old lab of my own that I trained through puppyhood. Before her, I took care of my previous dog who lived to be 16, so I am also familiar with doggie diapers and medications. I am a per diem physical therapist at a major hospital in RI so my schedule is variable week to week. Since I have a dog of my own I will not be able to board in my own home. I am also flexible with schedules as long as I am notified of the needed days at least 1 week before. I will not be boarding in my home due to my dog however I am knowledgable about the dog parks and trails in RI so I will be able to take walks or bring them to the park when I am with them. If there is a case where one of my other family members wants to join me on the walk and they were to bring my dog, she gets along very well with others! We are a very lovable household!

We could tell from the photos that he was clearly comfortable in his home-away-from-home. He and Toby were great playmates in the fenced-in backyard, and he Devorat were fast friends, with plenty of couch cuddle-time. In addition to her care and attention to Mookie, Devorat also offered accommodation and flexibility in the drop-off and pick-up scheduling to make things as easy as possible for us as we nailed down our travel plans at the last minute. I really appreciated her communication throughout the visit, and I could tell from her updates that she was really taking time to get to know our dog, and that he was in the best possible hands. We already plan to book with Devorat again soon!”
