“We left Parker with Crystal while we were on a 3 day family vacation. Crystal sent us pics of Parker enjoying his time at her house, while we were enjoying ours. Parker was happy and healthy when we returned to pick him up and we wouldn't hesitate to use Crystal again to watch and care for our dog!”

“Moe had a good time with Jennifer and her family. She sent pictures daily to let us see how well he was settled in. Jennifer responded quickly to correspondence and was very friendly and nice to deal with.”

“Jocelyn ha been amazing! She is very responsive and keeps me informed all the way thru each pet- sitting experience with photos and texts throughout the day. She is so loving with my girl and always takes such good care of her! Highly recommend!!”

“Carol took great care of our dog, Theo. He is used to being the star of the show and Carol made sure he felt right at home. The kids appreciated her pictures and messages showing that he was clearly comfortable and well taken care of. Thanks so much!”

“Georgianne was a great sitter. She posted picks regularly and gave me updates on how my cat was doing. She also responded very quickly whenever I messaged her. I would definitely leave my cat with Georgianne again.”

“Sue was so wonderful to board with! Unfortunately, due to weather and flight delays, we had to extend our trip a bit on both ends, and Sue was extremely helpful and willing to take our pet for the extra time. We also got daily photo updates, so we knew he was settling in well and well taken care of. She was even willing to do a meet and greet prior to the start of our trip. We would definitely recommend her to others, thank you Sue!”

“Tiffany did a great job taking care of my pup for 3 days. She’s got a great fenced in yard to play in, she took her for walks & sent plenty of pics & updates. My dog & hers got along great; we’ll definitely use Tiffany again. I highly recommend Tiffany to take care of your pup!”

About: I have 4 years of veterinary care experience along with 2 years of pet boarding experience. I own and care for several of my own animals as well! I am currently available for afternoon visits and care on week days. I have full availability on the weekends for any needs! I can also do midday pop in’s depending on location! I have 1 very friendly dog who does amazing with other animals but if your pet isn’t a fan I always have another safe space for them. I unfortunately do not have a fenced in yard therefore your pet will always be leashed for their safety. I will ensure we do lots of walks and playing to get their exercise!
“Eleanor had a phenomenal time staying with Leanna and Roxy! Eleanor settled right in and thoroughly enjoyed play time with Roxy. I highly recommend Leanna and look forward to having Eleanor stay with her again.”
“Roscoe is a rescue dog that we adopted in May this year. We were very concerned to be leaving for a vacation just 2 months later. He is such a great dog & we didn't want for him to think we were abandoning him. As soon as we met Sherri we were sure we had an answer to our prayers. We could not have found a better place for Roscoe to be. He had a wonderful week at Sherri's. We received many updates & pictures on how he was doing & never for a minute worried about him because it was obvious how much fun he was having. We enjoyed our vacation guilt free because we knew Roscoe was getting as much love & attention as we give him. Our only concern was that he might not want to come home because he had so much fun with Sherri's fur babies. ? We will be back Sherri!”

“Tammy took great care of my little man! Her home is so welcoming and plenty of space for the pups to run around! I could tell he was very spoiled at her place! I'm so happy to have found a spot ill be able to take him all the time that I can trust!”

“We left for our 4 day vacation a little nervous upon leaving our pup Jasper for the first time. As a rescue dog he is very nervous and trembles, especially around new people and environment. Heather was great with him. She kept us posted on his well-being by sending us pictures every so often. Although he was excited to see us, he was very calm and happy. I would highly recommend her and will certainly be using her again. Thank you heather for your care with our baby. Yolanda and Isaac”

“Absolutely love Marisol! She’s sweet, caring, nurturing, and holds a safe space for our puppy. Zero complaints about her service and will continue to book her as much as we can.”

“Debbie welcomed our 100-lb Bernedoodle into her home at the last minute and with open arms. She and her husband have such an easy, lovely way about them. Bruce was immediately enamored (so were we). The level of care and attention was high. This was a great place for dogs — so much outdoor space ! Debbie was communicative and thoughtful. We will definitely call her again and recommend her to friends around skaneateles!”

“Sarah was wonderful! We received update photos every day and our pup came home clearly well cared for and happy after over a week of being away. We were worried about our small dog being around her larger ones, but she arranged a meet and greet prior to taking King Tut. Her dogs were sweet and gentle with him. During the week we got photos of all three happily cuddled together. Would recommend Sarah S. and would definitely return should we need a dog-sitter!”

About: Hi there! I’ve been dedicated to working with animals since I was 16, earning my Veterinary Technician license while in high school in Texas. Over the years, my deep interest in canine behavior led me to manage dog daycares and boarding facilities, as well as shadow experienced dog trainers. When I’m not caring for pets, you can usually find me immersed in my favorite hobby-handling and competing with dogs in conformation shows! With my veterinary background, I bring both clinical confidence and behavioral understanding to every visit. I am completely comfortable administering oral or injectable medications, following precise routines, and managing special needs. Having personally cared for an epileptic dog, I am well-versed in seizure protocols and know how to keep pups calm, safe, and supported. I work full-time during the week but am available to care for your dog from Saturday through Monday. Weekends typically involve nature hikes on various trails, allowing all the dogs to explore new scents and enjoy the outdoors. My dogs are my weekend companions, and your pup will become part of our pack on these adventures. I'm passionate about providing dogs with enriching experiences, and I'm confident your dog will have a fun and fulfilling time with us. I don't have a fenced-in yard, but we do monitor the dogs carefully when they are outside. Depending on the dog, we would either walk them on a leash or allow them to explore under close supervision. We have a crate available if needed, but you are more than welcome to bring your dog's own crate if they feel more comfortable in it. Dogs are welcome on furniture, beds, and throughout the house. Our home is completely dog-friendly.
About: I have cared for my own dog for the past 13 years and sadly he died in February 2025. I walked him around my neighborhood consistently for all those years and now having that routine gone is difficult. Before having him as my own, I also helped take care of my families dog for several years. I am experienced in caring for dogs of all ages and demeanors and all sizes too :) I am attending SUNY Cortland right now and that is the only large barrier in my weekly schedule. I can care and/or walk dogs after 7pm on Monday and Wednesdays. I am available after 4pm on Tuesday and Thursday. Friday and Saturday I can provide care all day with a days notice. Without notice I will most likely be working on Friday and therefore not available until after 4pm that day. I can house-sit on Fridays and Saturdays and into Sunday afternoon as well! I will maintain a safe and calm environment for your pet while caring for them and allow them to initiate any desired games or actions. I am willing to accommodate however you prefer for your dog when caring for them, just let me know of anything necessary :) Any questions or concerns for your dog's care are welcomed and appreciated as I prefer a heads up in advance of anything unusual or to keep an eye out/for. Thanks :)

“Ginnie and I communicated almost every day about how the dogs were doing. When I arrived to pick them up, they appeared very calm and well cared for. I would definitely recommend Ginnie.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
