“From the moment we drove up our dog was ready to get inside to see Aunt Dana and he hadn't even met her yet! He even tried to open her door by reaching for the knob. Dana is welcoming and loving! She knows her stuff when it comes to what dogs love! Hopper felt at home right away. He had fun playing with her dog Bailey in the yard, catching some rays and taking naps. She also sent several updates to us throughout the day.”

About: I am a lifelong animal lover and have been caring for animals ever since I was a teenager. Today I am the proud mama of a 2 1/2 year-old standard poodle named biscuit and a 7 year old Labradoodle named Bart, both male. A couple of years ago, my teenage daughters started babysitting and pet sitting in our neighborhood and naturally I got involved every now and then which has led me to Rover. Something interesting about our family is that our older dog, Bart, is a rescue and has quite the story! We drove to Ohio in August 2019 to pick him up and when we got back to Charlotte, he jumped our fence at the time and was missing for 4 months. We worked independently and with an animal tracker over the course of those months - setting up cameras where sightings were reported, setting up food traps, and plastering flyers all over Charlotte and Matthews. Then one day in December, all of our hard work paid off and a lovely woman was able to lure Bart into her yard with her own dogs. It has been a long road since then, but we are blessed to say that he has come a long way and is a very different dog than the one we picked up in Ohio all those years ago! That experience taught us so much and was a true testament to the power of determination and dedication. We truly believe that Bart was meant to be in our family. I am currently a stay at home mom of older kids so I have lots of time and flexibility to work with pet parents needs. I have a large fenced yard that been reinforced because of 1 of our own dogs being an escape artist. We do not crate our own dogs just because we have not needed to and will allow any dogs staying with us to roam freely with our own, as long as the parents are comfortable with that. I strive to make animals feel at home in our home because I know the feeling that comes with having to leave your animals in someone else’s care.

About: I am always home I’ve had a dog all my life and cats. I love animals they’re like people they deserve love and attention just like people. I’m available almost everyday I love playing, and walking animals to get some fresh air and exercise . I will be able to walk the animals about 4 times a day and feed them however many times I’m able to feed them a day. I am also a student at Johnson and wales University my term just ended so I am available all the time. About: I grew up with doggies my whole life. I love animals and would love to give attention to your pup in the instances you cannot. Pups need attention and love all of the time and it is nice when they can have that love and attention even when you regrettably can't be there to give it. As a dog parent this sets your mind at ease:) I love cats as well and would love to sit for your feline friends in addition to your dogs. In my life I've had fish, dogs, cats, birds, and a Guinea pig. Animals just want love and attention. If I can help bring that, plus exercise and maybe a treat or two ;) to their lives well it's a good thing for everyone. I currently work in a hybrid very flexible role so walking your dog or dropping in to check on them fits easily into my schedule. I will care for your pet in your home like I do for my own with love, affection, and attention. Whatever works best for them!
