“Dana was the first sitter I used for my pup and she was absolutely amazing! My dog is very particular about things and she made sure his first day was fun and comfortable. He looked so happy and was throughly exhausted by the end of the day! Highly recommend!”

“Olga was wonderful! Her sweet little girl got along great with my small dogs. She was very attentive and provided regular pupdates. My dogs loved staying with her and we will definitely be using her again very soon!”

“Georgia has been enjoying spending two days a week at Alyssa and Spencer’s while her mom works. Alyssa and Spencer are great with Georgia and make her feel right at home from the moment she gets inside. We are so grateful to have found this wonderful alternative to larger doggy day cares for Georgia. Georgia doesn’t give too many details on all that she does while she is at Alyssa and Spencer’s, but on the mornings we go to their house, she can’t wait to get in the car and get there.”

“Flo and Kyle are the sweetest. They took great care of my puppy Bentley. Their dog Sperry is just the sweetest as well. Bentley loves playing with her and snuggling with Flo and Kyle. Will definitely recommend booking them.”

“I had such an amazing experience! He was absolutely wonderful with my dog and took great care of him. I’m very picky about who I trust to watch my pup, but he went above and beyond sending me pictures, keeping me updated, and making sure Mateo had everything he needed. He also has a nice backyard that my dog loved, and he kept him well-fed and happy the whole time. I felt completely at ease and will definitely be booking with him again!”

About: Hello, Rover world! My name is Gerardo, and I am the proud human to Elle and Tayter Dot. I am here to find fun playmates for my girls by hosting your pets. Please note that I will not host any dogs we have not previously met, for the safety of all involved. Since I'm already a dog parent, I'm already doing the dog routine - feeding, walking, petting, etc. Adding your pup to the routine will be pretty natural as a result. Hubs and I work from home, so we are actively spending time with your dog no matter what! We ask that your pet be housebroken. If they have a crate, we can add that to our routine, though our girls have full reign of the house. (It's their house, I just live in it.) Your pet can expect fresh water, a clean home, a yard to run in, and lots of treats. (Maybe also a weird dog voice...sorry not sorry!) I do my best to walk the girls more than once a day. We are regulars at various trails and greenways, as well as hanging with other friends and their dogs. My spouse and I are attentive to the needs of our girls, and will treat your dog like one of our own. You can expect your dog to be loved on, with lots of fetch in the yard, snuggles on the couch, and homemade treats for all.
“Cody is a good sitter. My 🐕 has high anxiety but met Cody ahead of time and on the day of the appointment he went to him with no issues. Cody shared pics of their walk and it was a great day. Thanks Cody!”

About: I'm an experienced dog mom who's spent years caring for my own dogs and helping family and friends with theirs. I'm patient, calm, and great at understanding different personalities, from playful pups to older dogs who need a gentler approach. I make sure every dog feels safe, comfortable, loved and cared for. I work from home so my availability is very open and flexible for any dog needed care. I own my own business so I'm able to work around your schedule and needs for the majority. I have 2 fenced in yards with dogs that love to play. Comfy beds and couches for down time, and both outside and inside toys and activities to keep them happy!

About: Hi! My name is Kortney and I would love to care for your loved ones. I love animals of all types. I’ve had two dogs and a fish in the past, and now I have the world’s most gentle cat! I) I am available for house sitting, walks and play time, potty breaks, meal times, baths, and general companionship during the day/night (they get lonely too!). I don’t have a breed preference, all friendly animals are welcome. I don’t have an age preference either, although I do have a soft spot for old pups. My partner is also on Rover and we often work together. Smoke-free household. I’m very flexible! I am currently working part time during the week and I’m off on weekends so I’ll have tons of time to take great care of your fur babies! I make sure that I don’t pet sit animals with opposing temperaments at the same time. I’m very in tune with cues that they give off. I can also crate your dog if needed.
“Lyric was great with Grey! She sent updates about how his day was going and let us know anything that we needed to. Greg was tired from all the play he got that it made the rest of the day a breeze. She was flexible and prepared. We highly recommend having her watch your dog!”

“Mariel was amazing with Arlo! She sent me videos and picture throughout the day. Arlo had a blast running around the yard and loved having new friends. I will definitely book with her again.”

“We have two dogs with extremely different personalities — but both loved Christie equally! It's very obvious by how our dogs reacted when I picked them up just how much they enjoyed staying at her house.”

About: Jason and I have had dogs living with us our entire lives. They are an extension of family, so you can be assured your furbaby will be looked after as if it was our own. We are in our thirties. Jason grew up with German shepherds and I grew up with Scottish and jack russell terriers. Additionally, Zoey our 6-year old beagle mix has been under our care since we adopted her at a shelter as a puppy. Weekdays: Between both of our work schedules, either Jason or I will be home at almost all times M-F. I work from home 3-4 days out of the week and Jason is home until 3PM each weekday. On the days I am not working from home, I get home by 5:30-6. Weekends: The longest we leave our dog Zoey on the weekend is 4 hours, but that's a rare occasion. Jason & I are homebodies and prefer to be with the pups snuggling on the couch or going for walks in the neighborhood. Our philosophy is to make your dog's stay as close to being at home as possible. For this reason, we only accept 1 dog per booking (we can accommodate siblings). By doing so, we can adapt to our guests feeding / walking times and give them more individualized attention. In addition, this removes the opportunity for altercations between animals who aren't familiar with one another. We live on 1/2 an acre with a fenced in yard in south Charlotte just 15 minutes from Uptown. We are near a large dog park which has separate fenced running areas for large and small dogs. Additionally, we have access to two walking trails from our neighborhood. Our home is all hardwood floors, which the dogs like to lay on during the summer to cool off. We also have three dog beds, though we allow (and encourage) dogs on the couch/bed. Our living room has two sliding doors which open up to the fenced yard making it quite easy to accommodate potty breaks. We routinely see wildlife in our backyard (squirrels, deer, etc.) and our windows are only a few inches off the ground - - a convenient height for small dogs to see outside.
Idlewild South dog parents share their Rover experiences
I have a pair of dogs we adopted from the shelter a few months ago. They've been anxious about going new places and one of them is quite cautious with new people. Dana had them for a day of daycare and they were so comfortable with her right away! She spent some extra time loving on them to help them settle in. When they came home, they crashed on the couch, didn't even need extra snuggles after being away from home. They had a great day! We'll definitely use Dana again!
This was my first experience with River. And I couldn’t have made a better choice than Christie. She made both Zuko and Daisy feel right at home. The puppies were excited to see her in the morning. She was great at sending pictures and updates. Made this experience very stress free! I will be booking her whenever I need it!
