Availability
My children are in school full time, so I have a lot of free time for drop-ins, walks, daycare, and boarding. I enjoy time in my house and yard, playing with my dog, as well as taking walks, so dogs are the perfect companions!

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fenced-in yard, and let my dog outside throughout the day and evening (although she prefers being inside!). I also have gates that can be used to limit access to certain rooms or stairs as needed. I will use a crate if requested by a client, or if one if necessary for a visiting dog’s safety, anxiety, or comfort when I’m not present. I typically only board or provide daycare for up to two dogs at a time. On occasion I may have an overlap of a dog from a new family along with one of my regulars, but will always inform both owners ahead of the stay. Safety and comfort are my primary focuses. * I am insured and bonded through Pet Care Insurance (PCI), in addition to the Rover Guarantee, for extra peace of mind. *

Information Joanna D. would like to know about your pet
I am only able to accept dogs that are good with children. I won’t be able to walk larger dogs that are not well controlled on a leash, but can provide plenty of outside time in my yard or in your home. Please let me know if there’s anything I should be aware of for your dog’s care or routine. Written instructions are great!
A typical day
I have a fenced-in yard for exploring, fetch, and water time, as well as a large neighborhood with a pond to take fun walks spotting ducks, geese, and turtles! I’m also happy to sit and cuddle if that’s what your pup prefers!

Pet care experience
I adore animals, and always want you to trust that your precious dog or cat is comfortable, safe, and happy while you’re away. I’ve been a pet owner most of my life. I grew up with dogs, hamsters, and fish, and have pet-sat dogs and cats since childhood. I care for several friends’ and neighbors’ dogs, both young and elderly, both in and out of my home. I have experience caring for a friend’s older rescue pup, working her way through trauma and trust issues, who has slowly warmed up to me. My family of five humans currently have a beloved dog, Sunny, and sweet little hamster, Poppy.

Reviews

Joanna is wonderful! Nora always has the best time staying with her, and I know she's in great hands. I receive daily updates along with the sweetest pictures, which gives me so much peace of mind while I'm away. I couldn't ask for a better sitter. Highly recommend—10/10!

Joanna is a fantastic dog sitter that constantly updates and communicates throughout the day. She sends photos twice a day of your dog. She has lots of empathy as we were leaving for a long trip and reassured me that Daisy was doing great! Highly recommend her. She is very compassionate and caring about our Daisy!

Joanna was excellent! She took beautiful care of our sweet rescue pup, had great communication, sent lots of pics, and loved our dog as her own. We will definitely become repeat customers!

Joanna took excellent care of our 8yr old Golden. She provided us with daily updates and photos of his stay. Her communication both before and during our dog’s stay was quick and clear. Our dog had a wonderful time with her and we will rebook in the future. Highly recommend.
