“Onyx was great, we had a few unexpected issues come up during the week (one cat didn't want to take his medicine and the batteries for the electric feeder died), and she helped find solutions to make sure everything was sorted out. About: Hi! I'm a dog-loving teacher who has rescued and adopted many dogs in my lifetime. I have a dog at home: Gracie Lou, a 13 year-old pit-mix. I would love to be able to lend a hand to anyone else who knows the trouble of finding someone to watch the fur-kids when they travel. I usually rescue Seniors, so I understand the unique needs they sometimes have. Additionally, I have been involved with pit bull rescue and have a love and appreciation for the bully breeds. I have lived in Saratoga for 9 years and know all of the dog-friendly and accessible places to visit. If my schedule works for you, let me help! During the summer, I am available for walks during the week and on the weekend. When the fall begins, I have limited evening availability and average availability on the weekends. Occasionally, I am able to take in a dog or two for overnight stays, but generally, I will stay overnight at a client’s home. I will make sure that your dogs are loved and cared for.

“Liz took care of my cat while I was out of town for a few days. She was a huge help, sending lots of pictures and updates, and made me feel much better about leaving her!”

“I cannot thank Kevin enough. He jumped in last minute during an emergency and kept me updated every step of the way. He was super prepared at all times and very kind. My kitties were thrilled with his care and happy and healthy when I returned. Thanks so much Kev-- you'll hear from me again!”

About: I have had dogs in my home my entire life and have been helping friends and neighbors with dog sitting since I was a kid! I work full time but I work from home two days a week and with enough notice I can have a flexible schedule, as needed. I have a fully fenced in backyard with plenty of room for my dog, and others, to run around in. I have a crate that can be popped up and used as needed.

“Had to take a quick trip out of town and Dionna took great care of my pup Rooney. Sent multiple pictures and gave me many updates on how he was doing! Will absolutely book again.”

About: I have always grown up having dogs and love to be around them! I have experience in dog walking and daily pet care such as feeding, cleaning up messes and taking it outside to the bathroom. I am excited to meet your pup! I am a teacher who will be working short hours over the summer. I am available for weekday walks and weekday check ins for your dog. I plan to make sure that I clean any messes that the dog makes within the clients home and that I leave their house the same if not cleaner then how I found it.

“I booked Elaina to do a drop In visit for my 10 week old puppy and my 8 month old puppy. She cleaned up the pee on the floor, let out my two older dogs and stayed over a half an hour to get my stubborn 8 months old puppy back in her kennel. I will definitely be booking again, if she is still willing to accept us after today’s events.”

About: PET CARE HISTORY: I grew up with Labradors and was responsible for feeding, walking and poop-scooping from a young age. When I was 15 my family got a Lab puppy and I trained her basic commands, and I'm proud to say that she was the BEST girl for her very long life. My family adopted our first cat at age 16, and then I promptly became a hybrid dog/cat person. Over my adolescence I routinely dog walked and did cat check-ins for my neighbors. Now that I'm in Saratoga, I routinely dog sit and dog walk for family and friends, and have taken in dogs for several days at a time. I recently began running with a friend's dog and loved it, so that's a fun enrichment activity I can offer :) MY PETS: 6 years ago my husband and I adopted our first pet, a beautiful black American shorthair named Frankie. We didn't know it at the time, but she had cerebellar hypoplasoa, hydrocephalus, and a progressive neurodegenerative disorder. We became experts on managing a chronically ill cat, including administering oral medication, giving her a bath (a true art form), helping her go to the bathroom, and making our home accessible since she could not jump. We had to say goodbye to her after just two years, but she taught us so much and cemented our undying love for cats, especially those that need a little TLC. We now have an American shorthair, Aldo, with whom I am utterly besotted. I work from home with a variable schedule. Depending on the day, I may have anywhere from an hour to 3 hours free at a time, but I do have breaks intermittently throughout the day. I enjoy running in the evening so if your dog could use some exercise, that's generally my time! Cats and dogs are so different so my approach necessarily varies! And, as pet-owners know, every animal has their own personality, likes, and dislikes. If I'm picking up a dog for a walk / run, I will want to meet with you first to get a sense of your security systems (i.e. dog fence; the security of your backyard, etc). I'll also want to know if your dog is a bolter, sniffer, squirrel chaser, etc - this helps me be prepared to ensure their safety and fun! If your dog wants to run with me, we should chat about how far / fast, if they have good enough recall to be off leash, and other important details. With cats, I'll want to understand their quirks. If they don't want to see me, fine; I just want to know they're safe and happy.

About: What does one to one pet care mean? It means that I provide individualized care for your dog, and that I will only care for one dog at a time in my home. Whether in my home or your home, your fur babies will be my number one priority. Dogs have been part of my family for most of the past 25+ years. I’ve also taken care of pets for neighbors and friends. My experience includes care for senior dogs and dogs with special needs. I am comfortable caring for reactive dogs, and have cared for dogs who are reactive around people and other dogs. I believe that all dogs are special and there is a special place in my heart for all furry friends. I work remotely, and am available to take care of your dog in my home or yours. I have a lot of flexibility regarding my schedule, and so it will be very easy for me to care for your pet while you are away. Dogs who I care for in my home are part of my family. I treat each dog as an individual and will accommodate their special personalities and needs. I only take care of one dog at a time in my home, where there is a quiet home environment, with no children or other pets. Whether in my home, or yours, your dog will be my number one concern!

Addy L.Star Sitter
“I have known Adrienne for over 10 years. During that time she adopted 2 elderly hard-to-place dogs who had special needs. She provided them with a loving home where they lived out their final years in a safe, caring environment, enjoying treats, cuddles, and walks in quiet areas where they felt as safe and comfortable as they they could. Adrienne seems to have an intuitive understanding of what dogs need to feel safe, and compassionately meets those needs. I am more of a cat person but if I had a dog I would not hesitate to leave it in Adrienne’s care.”
