“Heidi was wonderful with Alaïa! 🐾 She came by to walk her and spend some time playing with her, and Alaïa clearly had such a great time. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing she was getting some exercise, attention, and love while we were away. We’re so happy we found Heidi and will definitely be booking with her again in the future! ❤️”

About: As a lifelong dog lover, I know just how special the bond between a person and their dog can be. About a year ago, I unexpectedly lost my own boy to a sudden heart condition. It broke my heart, and for a while, I couldn’t imagine opening my home to another dog of my own. I do, however, miss having dogs in my life—their personalities, their companionship, and all the joy they bring. That’s what led me to Rover! I’d love the opportunity to give your pup some extra love, attention, exercise, and companionship while you’re away. Your dog will be treated like family, with plenty of patience, affection, and care. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pup with someone else, and I’d be honored to be that person for you. 🐾❤️ I’m a bartender with a schedule that gives me plenty of flexibility during the weekdays. My days off are often spent getting outside for walks, runs, and enjoying some fresh air, so having a pup to join me would be the perfect addition to my routine! Because I work at a seasonal location, my availability will become even more flexible as the season winds down. I’m looking forward to using that extra time to spend with dogs, whether that means a long walk, some playtime, or simply giving your pup some company and attention while you’re away. I’m active, dependable, and genuinely love being around dogs, so I’d be happy to make your pup part of my everyday routine! 🐾 I have a large two story home with plenty of space for roaming and playing, as well as a fenced in back yard. We do not have any pets at the moment so it’s very easy to accommodate yours.
“Donna was terrific. I got updates every day with pictures. She went over and beyond what was expected. I forgot to turn on lights for the cats and it was so nice to pull up late at night and she remembered to leave lights on for them. She also brought in my mail and dealt with some unexpected accidents around the house from my older cat Lou. Will definitely book Donna again from my next trip”

“Melanie is so wonderful! She graciously took a last minute booking and also was super easy going about my address mixup which I GREATLY appreciate her for. I would absolutely book with her again.”

“Katie was absolutely wonderful and so kind to both Crystal during her visit and me during scheduling and delayed responses. She took great care of my cat daughter while I was away and went above and beyond in her actions.”

“Michelle has taken wonderful care of our cats multiple times! She is very reliable, sends updates and photos! We will definitely be using Michelle again in the future!”

“Nicole did an outstanding job with Kiki! He had some special considerations being an older cat and Nicole took it in stride and was very communicative with any issues that came up and his health status at the time. I'll definitely be reaching out to Nicole in the future when Kiki needs supervision.”
“Mary-Kate was a life saver. She came over on very short notice to drop in on our dog when I got stuck at work. She is reliable and has great communication. We will definitely request her next time!”

“Rachelle provided wonderful and loving care to our very shy cat actually making her so comfortable as to come out for some pets. I highly recommend her and hope to use her again in the future.”

About: Fun fact: I house sat for 6 animals! 4 cats and 2 dogs. They are still one of my favorite clients. My own family dog was a trained therapy and service animal for 10 years! I am currently a Sales Manager in Garden City Center. My schedule is flexible. I love early mornings and I do not mind staying late. I do not currently have pets due to my small apartment. I am longing for a pet but taking care of yours will make it better!
About: My life has always been centered around animals. Growing up I had dogs, cats, and even started riding horses at 8 years old. As I got older I realized there’s nothing better than giving back to the animals that do so much for us. I now work at a trusted animal hospital as a veterinary assistant and I’m in school to become a veterinary technician. I have experience with many different animals of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. As a veterinary assistant I have a schedule that changes by week, but I typically have weekends and one or two weekdays off. In order to prioritize time with your fur baby I only set my availability to my days off, or walks after I get out of work. Safety and comfort are priorities for me. For pets it can be scary when their owners are away so I always take the necessary steps to ease their minds. I will treat your pets exactly how I would want mine to be treated.
About: We have had pets in my family my entire life.. Started off with a cat, then two. My older sister begged for a dog and we finally got one. Now my parents have two dogs, and one cat. We've had birds, fish, guinea pigs, frogs, and a bearded dragon... I recently moved out of my parents house and am craving the love from pets. I used to help my aunt care for her cats when she got older. I would pet sit for friends and neighbors growing up and Rover is allowing me to get back into that. I take myself for walks because I'm not good at sitting still and they would be much more enjoyable with a pal! I am working remotely and part time. I am a social worker so I meet with clients via tele-health. I do have a set schedule, but it allows for flexibility and I am not currently accepting new clients so this won't change much. I am renting a house so cannot accept pets into it- as the home owners trusting me with their indoor and outdoor cats. I have always been very careful in other people's homes- trying not to leave a trace- unless it is a note about how things went!

About: Its been 3 years since I’ve last been on Rover due to having a small child so I’m starting out on here all over again ☺️ My daughter is in school and camp now so I have time to help owners who don’t have a flexible schedule make sure their loved animals are taken care of. I have a big dog of my own who stays in the yard most the day or on the couch! He plays great with other dogs & is also a lover. I am a free spirt. I love hiking , trails, or just walking in the neighborhood. I offer hair brushing, bathing animals, nail clipping/grinding, and can brush their teeth if needed. I love taking dogs swimming at lakes and streams, running, and exercising animals are also some other fun things I offer. I’m full of energy & love animals- my favorite animals are horses & dogs. I am a self employed hairstylist so I have time to help since I make my own work schedules. Since I do not have a set work schedule if my services are needed for longer visits I can definitely make that happen. I’m able to start today or tomorrow and am very excited to help with your little family members 🐶🐱Thank you very much Ali Gant I am self employed so my hours are very flexible. I can also run home fast or to your house anytime to let an animal out for their feeding or walk. I have a safe environment and work on safety in others homes. The collar and leash will be put on before the front door opens so no running out the door is possible. Practice sitting before the door opens is a positive start to any walk.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Clifton Park
Heidi was an outstanding cat sitter! She sent us pictures every day, gave our cats so much love and attention, and made sure they had plenty of fun and playtime. She even bought them a new toy, which was such a thoughtful surprise! Her communication was excellent, and she always responded promptly. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our cats were happy, loved, and well cared for while we were away. I highly recommend her!

Jackie was amazing! She came by for a meet and greet a few days before our booking, which immediately put us at ease. She followed all of our instructions, sent us photos and updates throughout our trip, and gave us peace of mind while we were away. She even went above and beyond by moving our heavy package so it wouldn't get any wetter in the rain. She was attentive, thoughtful, and clearly cared for our pet. We highly recommend Jackie and would absolutely book with her again!

Nicole was lovely when we met at our meet and greet. My cats warmed up to her very quickly, even the shy one. Whenever I need Nicole for drop in visits, she responds promptly, shows up on time and completes all tasks provided. She also spends extra time making sure the kitties feel loved while I’m away. I would highly recommend Nicole!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
