“They were great with Bailey, communicated just the right amount of times to help us feel at ease while far away, that he was doing okay. When he arrived home, he was calm and relaxed, and that's a sure sign for us that he was well cared for and felt comfortable. Would highly recommend and definitely will use them again. Thank you for letting us enjoy our time with our family without worrying about Bailey. :-)”

About: My wife and I have both grown up with dogs and have been around them our entire lives. We understand that every dog has its own personality and routine, and we take the time to make each pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Since I work from home full time, pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide frequent potty breaks, walks, playtime, and lots of attention throughout the day. Your pet will have plenty of companionship and won't be left alone for extended periods. I have a fully fenced-in backyard where dogs can safely run and play. I also have a friendly, energetic 1-year-old Miniature Pinscher who loves to play. We lived in a quite neighborhood in Glenville.
“Brad and Mery were wonderful with our sweet older pup, Bailey. They sent regular photos and updates, and Bailey seemed so happy with them. We’ll definitely use them again next time, and would recommend them without hesitation to others!”

“My dog Emerald was well taken care of while on vacation. She had many dog friends to hang out with and enjoyed all the sticks she could find. I would highly recommend Awoo for your pet. Thank you so much!”

“Catherine and her family are so sweet and accommodating. I got updates throughout the stay and my pup was so well taken care of and loved. I was almost convinced my dog wouldn’t want to come home with me after all the love and attention they gave her!! Thank you so much!”
“We had a wonderful experience leaving our pup with Karen. She made us feel completely comfortable and most importantly Lulu was happy! We got frequent updates, Lulu got many walks and we couldn’t be happier with the care she received. Will def book again with Karen!”

“Natthinee took great care of Bowser. Every day she messaged me how he was doing and sent me lots of photos. The communication was great! It helped me feel comfortable leaving Bowser for so many days. I’d definitely use Natthinee again to watch Bowser.”

“Samantha and her partner Zachary took fabulous care of our two dogs for three days. They are both high energy young dogs, one 7 months and one 13 months old and we were worried that they were going to be a problem. They love each other, romping like crazy with each other indoors and out and Samantha and Zach had no problem dealing with them. When we went to pick them up, it was obvious that both dogs really liked their caregivers. What more can one hope for in someone taking care of their dogs? We will be using them again when we are back in the Albany area. Thank you, Samantha and Zachary! Clifford and Ann Wagner”

“Jarvis loved staying with Kierra and her family. He was well cared for and Kierra sent many photos of Jarvis playing with her dog Atlie. I highly recommend her, and Jarvis looks forward to staying with them again!”

“Jessica was awesome! Loved her right away at our meet and greet and I know my dog had a great time with her and her dogs. I would definitely recommend her to anyone and will absolutely rebook. Thank you, Jessica!”

“Selfishly I would love to keep this my best secret , but John is the best sitter you could possibly hope for. I am actually blown away by the amount of attention and care my pup received here. We got constant updates and had no doubts at all about Winston being spoiled while we were spoiling ourselves. Couldn't ask for more.”

“We are so glad we found Brigid. Our dog, Roscoe, was comfortable with her right away when we had our meet-and-greet. Brigid asked good questions and took notes. She and her house are well-suited for a little dog visitor. She has a nice, fenced-in yard. Her couch is a cozy spot for napping, snuggling and looking out the window. Brigid stayed in touch with us leading up to our trip and while we were away. It was so fun for us to hear and see pictures of how Brigid and Roscoe were spending their time. I felt that they had developed a special bond and I can't wait to book Brigid again. I think Roscoe feels the same way.”

“Jennifer was amazing. I can’t say enough good things. She treated my pup like one of her own and I am truly grateful. Leaving and being away from your pup is an anxiety inducing experience, but Jennifer took such good care of Cadbury and was so incredible at keeping me updated that I didn’t have to worry and was able to focus on my conference instead of worrying about him. And she also kept Cadbury entertained and engaged so his mind was on whatever thing was going on at the moment which I was glad for Her dogs welcomed Cadbury to their pack which I was also incredibly appreciative of. I am so glad he has new friends that I look forward to him spending more time with them. Jennifer, her mom and their pack were amazing and so glad it worked out the way it did. I’m sure I’m missing things but they were amazing and look forward to Cadbury’s next experience there and so glad to know I have a place I can trust. Thanks Jennifer!”

“Carolyn was so amazing with our 3 year old golden, Ellie. She sent photos every day that we were away and updated us on walks or playtime. Ellie looked so happy in every picture and that made me feel confident that she was in good hands while we were on vacation. Carolyn is funny and so sweet. She’s a dog lover at heart and it shows in how she cared for Ellie. Ellie can’t wait to go back!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Clifton Park
Chrissy took excellent care of my old dog. Loosey has to be tricked into taking medicine, and Chrissy had no problem working with her. Chrissy has steps that are good for old dogs to get down into the yard. Loosey had lots of toys and pets and I got lots of pictures. Will absolutely hire her again.

Tom took great care of our dog. He sent us photos and texts while she was with him. His dog Klaus is very mellow and was a good companion to Willow. He is an excellent communicator, keeping us informed and responding to every question/message. We would love to use him again as our dog sitter and recommend him with no reservations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
