About: Hi my name is Colleen! I have been around and loved animals my whole life. I offer full-time care and live on Vandenberg SFB. For the past three years, I managed a veterinary practice. Because of this background, I am very familiar with the diverse medical and behavioral needs of dogs, cats, and horses. I am a huge dog and cat lover - at home, I have a German Shepherd and a Goldendoodle who get daily walks and lots of cuddles. Because I work from home full-time, any animal in my care will receive constant attention and supervision. I am also a very active person, so you can count on your pets getting plenty of playtime and exercise. My home is completely child-free, and visiting pets are absolutely allowed on the furniture to make them feel right at home. Additionally, I live on the military base, making it easy and convenient for me to accommodate both on-base and off-base families. Whether your pet needs high-energy play or have specialized medical needs, they will be safe, active, and loved here! Animal care is a central part of my life! I work a flexible remote schedule that allows me to be fully available for full-time care. While not certified (yet), I have over a decade of experience in the specialized training fields of rally obedience, nose work, and agility; I’m happy to provide board and train services. ———————————————————————————————————— BOARDING REQUIREMENTS: Because we have a resident cat and a senior dog, all guests must be cat-friendly, non-aggressive, and comfortable sharing space with other animals. We require a meet-and-greet prior to booking. Please note that we cannot accommodate puppies, aggressive dogs, or pets that become aggressive during medication administration. To ensure every guest receives personalized attention, I have a maximum of two dogs at a time (from the same family only). Boarding / Daycare: There will be someone (my spouse, me, or both of us) with your dog the majority of the time, day and night. If we are both out running errands, we are often back within a few hours and usually within an hour, but if there are any special needs for your pup, let me know and I can be sure to let you know if we can accommodate, such as having someone with your pup at all times. Our schedules are very flexible, so feel free to ask based on your preferences. While I work during the day from an office, my spouse works from home and therefore is available to keep your pup company, let them go out to the bathroom, and if needed, is available for short play times. We will take your dog on daily walks and/or outdoor playtime and just let us know your dog's regular routine and we can try best to accommodate. In addition to play time, we will give your dog time to rest and they will get plenty of affection. Depending on the dog, we can also head out for a trail walk or a trip to a fenced dog park for a good run/play. You can expect photo and video updates daily (frequency based on your preference) so you can see how your pup is doing. Dog Walking: I'll pick up your dog and take them on a walk tailored to their energy and needs — neighborhood walks, hiking trails, or a fenced park for off-leash time if that's the right fit. Drop-In Visits: I'll stop by your home to visit with your pet(s), play with them, let dogs out to the bathroom, give them food and water and spend quality time with them. I can also care for other pets in the home, such as reptiles, fish, or plant, depending on what's required, an additional pet charge may apply. I have a fenced yard for potty breaks or sniffing the fresh air or enjoying the sunshine and a larger, unfenced area that I can take your pup(s) on short, leashed jaunts to sniff around. I can crate your dog, if ever needed.
