“Monique had a very dog friendly house! She seemed really kind and like true pet lover. I have never left my dogs with someone that wasn’t family so I was nervous but after meeting her I felt comfortable knowing they’d be in good hands. While we were away she sent pictures and was great with communication! I was able to relax and enjoy the trip knowing my fur babies were happy!”

About: We’ve always owned both dogs and cats, from puppies and kittens to elderly. Our lives would not be the same without our fur babies and we will take excellent care of yours. We have raised feral cats from birth and enjoy having animals around us. They are members of the family and definitely treated as such. We look forward to meeting and caring for your fur baby! I work part time days and my husband works nights so between us there is almost always someone home. Our son is 17 and daughter is 13 and both are very big help with our pets. They love our Golden Retriever and cat and are always ready to snuggle. Our pets are on a feeding schedule and are both indoor/outdoor and consistently cared for throughout the day and night. Since my husband works nights he even checks on them in the wee hours. Your fur baby’s care is our top priority! In your home we will follow whatever schedule and regimen you request so that things are consistent for your pets. In our home your pet will be allowed both inside and outside with lots of love and attention. If there are special circumstances, let us know. You are welcome to bring any favored treats, toys, beds, or a crate to help your pet feel more at home with us.

“Avril was amazing with my puppy. This was the first time I have left her with a sitter and Avril made me feel confident that she was in good hands. Avril was very communicative and easy to work with. I would recommend Avril to anyone!”

“Danielle was amazing - we couldn’t recommend her more highly. She cared for our high-needs dog so well and went above and beyond. She never once seemed bothered by our dog’s needs around medications. She cleaned her eye goop and washed the blankets before we picked up our dog. Danielle even let our dog sleep in her bed - I’m sure our dog misses her! Danielle was communicative and reliable. We will definitely use her again in the future.”

About: I have taken care of many family & friends dogs and cats (and other types of pets) over the years. I have never had an issue with even the unruly ones. I am able to gain an animals trust quickly and am intuitive on how to approach them & care for them. I have a special needs nephew that I am a Respite Careworker for, I help administer his medications and am confident I can administer meds to any animal as well. I have also been taking care of my disabled mom for the last few years and am a mother of 2 (new empty nester). I have a lot of patience and don't get upset with messes. Everything is washable in my opinion. Although I will keep your house as tidy as possible if I am House Sitting for you. I live in Santa Maria, but am available for pet/house sitting in any part of Santa Barbara or San Luis Counties depending on the day(s). I would consider traveling further on the weekends if I am able. I am a responsible & trustworthy person, who genuinely enjoys caring for others. I work from home on Mon & Fri, so I am only unavailable during the day on Tues/Wed/Thurs. I am able to care for animals in the morning before I leave for work and every evening. I recently lost my dog at the ripe old age of 17, I used to walk my dog every day, so I know all the good dog walking spots in the area. I love hiking as well, so if your dog is up for it, I am happy to take them hiking too. I work in conjunction with my partner who is home during the day, so if there is a need for more exercise, feedings or medication during the day, we can facilitate that. I enjoy the company of animals, so they would be included in everything I do, as much as possible. I used to take my dog everywhere with me. I prefer caring for pets in their own homes, only because they are more comfortable there. My place is not very big, so it depends on how much space they are used to. I can sit 2-3 dogs at a time if they are not too big. I have room for a crate, but not more than one. I do have a is fenced in yard with a locked gate.
“Jennifer & Julie took excellent care of Zoey. She had a great time at their place, so much so that she didn’t seem that excited to see us! They updated us regularly on how she was doing and sent plenty of pictures. Zoey will be visiting again soon.”

“Brittany is an exceptional pet sitter! Milo had an amazing time and was pampered exceptionally well. We received regular updates, photos, and communications, which we greatly appreciated, especially from my kids.”

About: Although my pup is no longer alive, he brought me so much joy and I know your animals do too! I have many years of dog care and had cats while growing up. I can uphold any pet training you require and also have some great skills to add. I am currently very flexible! I am returning to school to obtain my Masters in therapy so my school schedule is flexible. Please reach out! I’m happy to provide for the needs of each individual pet, as all are different! I can provide cuddles, play enrichment sessions, training skills practice, dog walks, outdoor time, or crating if needed.

“Omg! Tami is a gem! I found the perfect sitter. I went through all the local profiles and carfully selected who i found to be the perfect match for my dog. Her home is lovely and my Addie girl was spoiled rotten! Tami sent me several pictures and kept me updated. I look forward to using her again. ❤ Thank you Tami!”

“Ashley was very prompt to respond to my dog sitting request which was honestly very last minute! She and her husband took great care of my dog for almost a full week. Very professional and accommodating, with the added bonus of their own sweet pup for mine to play with!”

“Matt and his pup Dewey were great! This was Oakley’s first boarding experience and Matt made sure to make her feel at home and us feel at ease leaving her. It’s clear he’s a great pet Dad! Oakley had so much fun being able to run around the yard and play with Dewey. We’d definitely use Matt in the future.”

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
