At the animal shelter I volunteered for both Orcutt and Santa Maria and I was there for about 2 years. I now work at the Santa Barbara Humane where I handle several different temperaments of animals and about to hit my 2 years working there. I’m currently working 4 10’s where i get 3 days of to enjoy the day with your babies. On the days that i do work i’m able to do drop ins during my lunch and after work at around 6. About: I’ve taken care of every animal that i’ve ever met! I grew up with 7 dogs and 6 cats! All of our family friends trusted me to stay and watch their loved ones when they couldn’t take them on vacation with them. I was on bathing and feeding duty but really just listened to what the animal wants whether it’s all the pets in the world, a lap to sit on, a friend to play with, or to silently judge from the other side of the room either way both of us are enjoying each others company. I’m currently a part time college student! My schedule is very flexible, late hours, nights, weekends, holidays i’m available to meet your needs and your cats. My two girls Annie and Daisy both sleep on top of me every night. They have running water fountains a litter robot in the room they go in when supervised and a regular robot for unsupervised time. My cats have daily routines built. For example they know what rooms to be in and when! They also have access to their catio at peak sun time!

About: I've had the gift of house/pet sitting for over 10 years, and it is without a doubt the most rewarding job I've ever experienced! Personally, I've had dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, horses, and hermit crabs as pets, besides the odd rescued baby bird, bunny, or mouse. On top of cats, dogs, and fish, I've had the opportunity to care for alpacas, an African grey parrot, and saltwater fish/reefs, while pet sitting. Every animal I encounter has its own identity and temperament, which is always fun and interesting to observe and base my care on. I feel like such a winner when I get a standoffish animal to trust me! Throughout my life I've had an array of animals to bond with, though for a long period recently we had just one cat. Mournfully, a few years ago, my dad and I had to part with our beloved Stevie. She was our close companion for over 15 years, and I still miss her immensely. Her quirks and routines still cross my mind, which brings all the things that made her unique and lovable up into my heart. Pet sitting warms my heart, and definitely fills the need that I still have for animal companionship (but without the heartbreak). Pet sitting is a way for me to have the joy of loving and caring for a pet in an empathetic way: in their own home, on their own schedule, stepping into their owner's (figurative) shoes for a bit, to make *everyone* more comfortable. Time and again, it's proven to be the best way I've found to give personalized care to precious pets, and allow owners to truly enjoy their time away. My part-time library job offers me a lot of flexibility, leaving me the opportunity to do more of what I love. Traveling, exploring new areas, experiencing new food, going to music events, working out/walking, spiritual activities, and creative endeavors have a place in my life because of this balance. Of course that also includes one of the most rewarding ways to punctuate my life: house and pet sitting! I base my care around the individual needs of the pet and owner! About: I foster dogs from a nearby shelter and post them on social media to find them. Families tend to focus on the “hopeless” ones. At my house, dogs are always going up and down on the couches. It’s really no problem at all and I’ve got a pretty decent sized backyard with a high fence to keep them from running off and lots of parks just a light walk away!
