“I really appreciated that Jordis was able to take care of my two cats for a very last minute trip. She was flexible and communicative, and was able to meet the same day for the meet and greet/keys exchange. She was great with giving my senior cat topical meds twice a day, feeding the cats, and taking care of the litter box. However, I did not hear from her about how the cats were doing or get any confirmation that she had visited until I checked in with her on the last day of my 3 day trip.”

“Emerson was so phenomenal with our kitties — they loved her and we had peace of mind knowing they were getting lots of playtime and love while we were away. She was so attentive and communicative, and she would be a wonderful presence for anyone’s fur babies. 10/10 would recommend and book again!”

“Karolina has been a lifesaver for us this summer. She is very responsive, always sends photos, and is willing to go the distance (figurative and literally—we live pretty far off the beaten path). She took the time to get to know our kitty. I was surprised when Klaire, who is shy, was on Karolina’s lap by the third visit. Thank you, Karolina!”

“Lizz is amazing; she took this booking last minute and had plenty of time to meet Kade twice before the booking to make sure he warmed up to her. She was so nice and patient with Kade and it looks like they had a great time! Thank you!!”

“Madison is great! Very trustworthy and my 20 year old cat always seems in good spirits when I get home. She delivers his medicine twice daily as prescribed and stays in touch while I'm gone. Recommend her highly.”

About: I’ve been around all animals almost all my life and have always had the biggest love for them. I have also worked at veterinary offices and love almost every part of it :) I am currently doing online courses for school at skagit valley college and have an open schedule to help out with any type of animal care :) I have a fully fenced back yard that dogs would love and hardwood floors inside my house for when they are inside. I am fully capable of taking care of the animals however wanted :)
About: I am an experienced pet sitter and have worked in Animal Shelters and know how to compassionately take care of pets with all manners of needs. I have also taken dog training courses at Colorado State University and have loved my own dog Bandit for 3 years. About: Hi there! I'm Jessie, and I'm absolutely passionate about animals. Currently, my work allows me to operate from home as a photographer and social media manager, with the added perk of teaching yoga once a week. My love for pets runs deep; I had the privilege of sharing 15 wonderful years with a small toy poodle who was my constant companion and the love of my life. I miss her dearly, which is why I've decided to get into pet sitting! I genuinely adore all types of dogs, as long as they are on the quieter side, don't have a tendency to nip, and are house-trained. If your furry friend is calm and friendly, you can count on me to take them for leisurely walks, provide regular check-ins, and ensure they are well-fed and cared for during my stay. Your pet's comfort and well-being are my top priorities. I can't wait to shower them with the same love and attention I gave to my beloved poodle. Let's arrange a meet-and-greet so we can get to know each other better and discuss how I can provide the best care for your furry family member. Looking forward to meeting you and your pet soon! Best regards, Jessie My schedule is flexible and open at the moment! I work part-time and can choose my hours so I'm happy to cater to your needs. I will have to care for pets in my client's home since my roommate already has a few cats. I am happy to come to your home as needed.
“Aline does a tremendous job caring for our cat, who has more needs than most. Communication is always great and she is always very flexible. We are always happy to have Aline care for our cat!”
About: I have a dog and a cat back home that I help take care of. When I’m home, I take my dog out for walks everyday. I have dog sit for my neighbors dog a few times, and another family’s dog as well. I just graduated from NAU, so I am very available this summer. Weekdays as well as weekends! I am only in Flagstaff until the end of July. Making sure if it’s a gated house, that the gate is closed when supposed to be. Making sure the pet is not getting into anything it shouldn’t be.
About: I’ve have tons of experience, patience, and love. I've always had pets to care for and think they are a part of the family! I currently have one fur baby, a dog named Lily. I work from home and make my own schedule, so your pet wouldn't be left alone. I walk, run, or hike everyday. Your pampered pup would gets lots of exercise and attention! As well as a new fur friend in my dog Lily. I will make sure your pet is getting the care that it needs with food, water, cuddles, medicine, and exercise. I'm happy to provide update pictures, while you're away.

About: I’ve cared for both farm and house pets for most of my life. My dream is to have a homestead with as many animals as I can care for. I’ve taught dogs and my cat different commands and would love would love to learn more things to train. I believe mental enrichment is so important to keep animals living a happy life. I’m currently a stay-at-home per parent so my routine is quite flexible. I try not to be away from homes for too long so my dog doesn’t have to be crated for prolonged periods. I am no stranger to walking dogs on leash. I currently don’t have a fenced yard so my dog only goes out on leash but in the past I have walked dogs of all sizes. I will treat you and your babies with respect and care. I understand a pets body language and am able to assess a situation to intuit what your pet needs.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Samish Island. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 91% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
