“We left our dog Happy with Deb and James for four days and he had a wonderful time. Lots of walks and cuddles. We were sent photos regularly showing Happy out and about exploring Gananoque. On pickup he was glad to see us but also very relaxed and not in a rush to leave! Thanks Deb and James. I can highly recommend these dog sitters!”

“Melissa was amazing! Not only was she transparent but you can tell she loves her guests like her own. Bowie and Yuki were well taken care of and most definitely enjoyed their stay. Will definitely book again with her if needed, thank you Melissa! ❤️”

“Sabrina couldn’t have been more accommodating and attentive to our family and our girls. She is caring, professional, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about giving fur babies a true (fun!) home away from home. We are so thankful for you, Sabrina!”

About: I’ve been caring for our family pets and my own pets my entire life. I’ve provided a home for both cats and dogs with a variety of different personalities and needs. I’ve been trusted with walking, feeding and watching my family and friends fur babies on many occasions. My goal is that every animal in my care feels safe, comfortable, and loved while ensuring they receive the patience, attention, and care they deserve. I’m currently a student. I’m available between classes for potty breaks, walks, or some play time. I am also available after classes, time will vary based on my schedule, and weekends. I have two lovely cats in my apartment, one of which will be your pets best friend, and the other prefers to keep to herself. I will do my best to ensure your pet sticks to their regular routine, whether it’s in my home or yours.
About: Heyy! I’ve been around animals my entire life, and caring for them has always been something I genuinely love. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies to senior dogs, and all sizes, from Chihuahuas to Great Danes. I’m especially experienced with reactive and separation anxiety dogs. I understand that every animal has their own personality, needs, and comfort level, so I always take the time to make them feel safe and cared for. I genuinely love hosting and caring for animals, and I’d be excited to give your pet the same attention, patience, and care I would give my own. I’m currently a university student with only 1–4 hours of classes per day during the week, and Mondays are completely free. Outside of class and on weekends, I’m usually home with plenty of time to care for your pets. I have lots of time and energy for pups, including walks, playtime, cuddles, and keeping them company. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I keep my home very clean and organized and have quality pet supplies to make pets feel comfortable. For daycare and boarding, I can care for pets in my home or yours. My home has a spacious, private bedroom that can be used as a safe and comfortable space for your pet when they need quiet time or rest. I’m also very attentive to cleanliness and will regularly clean up after pets to keep their environment fresh and hygienic. For house sitting, I’m flexible and can potentially stay at your home full-time depending on your needs and preferences.
“Paige and Vanessa were punctual and organized when meeting Jose and Rosa. They kept me updated with pictures and the dogs´daily activities while I was away. When I picked the dogs up, I could tell that they were happy with Paige and Vanessa. I would definitely book them again.”

“Katherine is a very charming, enthusiastic, and positive person. She had the energy for my lil fur babies. She always sent me pictures, and even celebrated my one fur baby's birthday with streamers and bows. I felt very relaxed knowing my girls were safe with her.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
