Lilah was living her best life when Heather stayed with her while we were on vacation. Heather took her on lots of walks, played with her in the backyard, and gave her lots of cuddles. Heather was very communicative, sending us lots of pictures, videos and updates on Lilah. Knowing that Lilah was cared for so well made my vacation even better. We look forward to having Heather stay with Lilah when we go on vacation again.

This was the first time we went away and left the dogs with someone other than a family member so we were a bit nervous. Dina came and met the kids and from the beginning, they were so comfortable! The pics she sent were wonderful and I knew they were well cared for and happy. We will be looking for Dina again when we travel!

This was my first time booking Leann for house sitting while we were on vacation, and I am so glad that we did. My little girl, Lilah, loved her. Lilah became Leann’s shadow, following her around, sitting next to her on the couch, and sleeping next to her at night. Leann took her out for plenty of walks and spent a lot of time throwing the ball to her in the backyard. Leann provided daily updates and pictures. She cleaned up all of Lilah’s dishes, and my house was cleaner then when I left (my dog is a shedder and her hair every where). The biggest surprise was that Leann had taken photos of Lilah and had them printed so I have so many cute photos of Lilah to put into frames. I cannot tell you how much I appreciated the care and love that she gave to Lilah while we were on vacation. It is nice to go away and know that your furbaby is being well cared for.

Lexi was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond. Our dog had an expected health issue before we left and Lexi kept us up to date every day on how she was doing, calibrated to a different diet and some meds needed for the week, and even coordinated with me and the vet regarding a complication that came up from her health issue while we were gone. She clearly has a good pulse on animals and even our vet commented on how on top of things she was. Let this serve as a glowing review, highly highly recommended house/dog/cat sitter, and I hope we have the opportunity to book with her again in the future.

Melissa was great, she showed up right on time the day we left and helped keep our 2 large dogs calm as we left. We got photo updates nearly every day and it felt like our house and pups were in good hands while we were away. When we returned the house was in great shape, the dogs were happy and our plants were thriving! This was a fantastic experience, we would definitely book Melissa again.

About: My whole live I have always had animals and/or was surrounded by them. I have taken care of families pets and homes since I was around 10 and have had my own pet care experience since I was around 6. Pets are family. And with me, they will be treated as such! This summer my availability is open and flexible due to only working part time. I have a lot of weekends open and even more weekdays. During my time with your pets, I will focus on keeping them active and using enrichment techniques when needed. If you have pets with a bit more anxiety, we can also relax at home.

About: As an experienced dog foster, I have cared for more than 25 dogs of all ages, from newborn puppies to senior dogs, representing a wide variety of breeds and sizes. In addition, I was the proud owner of four dogs who each lived long, happy lives and reached their senior years before crossing the Rainbow Bridge. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the important role pets play as beloved members of the family. As a school teacher, I enjoy a very flexible schedule during the summer months and would love the opportunity to support families who need a safe, loving temporary home for their four-legged companions. Whether your pet needs overnight care, companionship during the day, or some extra exercise and attention, I am committed to providing the same level of care and affection that I would give my own dogs. As a teacher, I am currently on summer break, so I have availability daily throughout the week for play sessions and dog walks. I am also available for multi-night lodging. When you’re here, you’re family. Any animal under my care will be treated as one of my own. But with me, you get a whole family who are all trained in caring for dogs and cats, as each member of the household has been involved with fostering pups and raising kitties. The second floor of the house is separated by a door at the top of the stairs to allow separation between feline and canine friends if needed. Daily photos and FaceTime are available. We have multiple-sized dog crates if crating is requested. Although we may be new faces to your four legged companions, we will try to keep consistency in the rules you have at your home. If they are allowed on your couch, then they will be here. Feeding schedule will be dictated by how they ate at home. Walks will be frequent and there is a huge box of dog toys and cat toys to keep them entertained.

Susan & Corey were absolutely wonderful with my anxious & sweet Chihuahua. They stayed at our home and were extremely kind and wonderful with my dog! They gave him so much attention, belly rubs, and snuggles. Susan was also very kind at arriving very early on the first day so we could set out for our trip on time. The communication was also great with Susan and she made us feel very comfortable by sending pictures of my dog eating, snuggling with them on the sofa, and being happy. Susan also took great care of our home, brought in our mail and packages for us, and left our home nice & clean. She also left us a report card on their stay which we thought was a nice touch. Would highly recommend Susan!!! She is kind, professional, and clearly has been working with animals for a long time.

About: I had a border Collie for 17 years now an American shepherd for 1.5 years and he's fully trained already he's great just still a pup. Currently I work part time for an Amish company and I do morning pick ups and evening drop off with Thursday me being at the job all day. With time in advance I can move stuff around if need be. Im basically free all week during the times everyone is working. Well my dog i train and make sure he's behaving before he gets a reward. I don't always make him do stuff for tricks, but I practice commands daily and when it's not raining we go on walks, unfortunately he gets car sick so long drives aren't great for him still. I hug him tell him he's great tell him when he's done something bad as well, Play with toys and I'm currently working on him knowing what toy I'm telling him to get

FAQs for House Sitting - Rothsville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Rothsville on Rover is $46.62 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,246 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rothsville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rothsville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rothsville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rothsville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rothsville. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
