About: I've taken care of many pets ever since I was a little girl. Always had pets in the house, dogs, cats, even guinea pigs and a mouse. I also used to volunteer as a kid at my camp to work with the animals in the stables like the goats, bunnies, and brushing the horses. As I got older my love for animals never wavered, so I went to high school and I majored in agricultural sciences and spent my first summer there on our land-lab taking care of not only an arrange of animals, but plants as well. I also volunteered at a pet store near my high school caring for stray animals that were brought in, and at one point a bunch of baby kittens, alongside my best friend. I have always loved dogs and cats most and would love to have them as pets again. My family and I started our pet sitting Journey when we used to live out in Florida, it's been almost 2 years now, since moving back to New York City . We have gotten the chance to sit many furry four legged friends, and now I have two of our own. We would still love the opportunity to continue to caring for other's pets as well. My kids and I used to feed and give love to some of the strays we'd see in our neighborhood, back in Florida( unofficial cat lady lol 😅 ). We cannot wait to care for your furry, four legged family member. Home is well air conditioned, space to accommodate a crate if you have, and will be able to give walks around area, or nearby park. You can rest assured your pet will get lots of love and attention, as my children LOVE animals as much as I do, and jump to the opportunity to assist me with them I'm currently working part-time, so I am usually able to give walks in the morning, and in the evening after 6:00 p.m. However, on my days off, I can give walks at least three times a day. I would be able to work out a schedule that might be accommodating for the both of us. I would prefer to have them dropped off during the evening's, after 7pm. We adopted a Maltese/ Silky terrier mix dog(female), and a Chihuahua/ Terry mix dog (male). I use our bedrooms (mine and the kids) to place them in, to accommodate while the other dog is out. Or, we can use the backyard or crate.

Dayanara Has been a lifesaver this week. My dog is huge and can appear to be intimidating. Dayanara was able to see past her size and focus in on her sweet personality. I have a recommend her services. Additionally, she offers walking tips and sends pictures which make memories for my family.

I can't thank Aniyah enough for taking such wonderful care of my pups while I was out of town! It gave me so much peace of mind to know they were in such kind, capable hands. The updates, photos, and attention to detail were all fantastic — it was clear my dogs were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I came home to two very content (and well-exercised!) pups. Highly recommend and will definitely be booking again in the future. Thank you!! 🐾

Peggy was AMAZING! This was our first time using Rover, so we were nervous about leaving our Prince, but I knew we were in great hands the first time we all met. From her walk-by-walk update, videos and pics of their FANTASTIC jaunts to even helping my Mom, who was staying with Prince while we traveled, Peggy went above and beyond making sure we were as OK being away from him as he was. She not only became our go-to for Prince’s care, she’s truly became part of our family!

About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with pets and have been around dogs since I was about seven years old. I also spent time every week on my family's farm, where I became comfortable around many different animals, including dogs, cats, horses, cows, bunnies, turtles, chickens, and ducks. Throughout my life, I've cared for multiple dogs of my own and have also pet sat for friends and family. I'm comfortable with walking, feeding, playtime, maintaining established routines, and reinforcing basic training such as sit, stay, come, leash manners, and house-training habits. Growing up around animals taught me to pay attention to their individual personalities and boundaries. I know that some dogs want to play immediately, while others need patience and time before they feel comfortable with someone new. I bring that same patience and attention to every pet I care for. I'll follow your instructions closely and do my best to keep your dog's routine consistent, safe, and enjoyable while you're away. My schedule is flexible, with my strongest availability from Sunday through Wednesday for walks, drop-in visits, and overnight care. I'm also open to longer stays and recurring bookings during those days. Thursday and Friday availability may vary, but I can sometimes accommodate evening or overnight care if a later arrival works for your pet's routine. Weekend requests may also be possible depending on the dates and your pet's needs. Feel free to reach out with your schedule—I’m happy to see if we can find a good fit. When caring for pets in a client's home, my priority is to keep their environment and routine as familiar and consistent as possible. I follow the owner's instructions closely regarding feeding, walks, medications, training, sleeping arrangements, and any household rules. I take time to learn each pet's personality, energy level, boundaries, and normal behavior rather than assuming every animal should be handled the same way. I'll reinforce the commands and routines you already use instead of introducing unnecessary changes while you're away. I also understand that trusting someone with your pet means trusting them with your home. I treat both with respect, keep the areas I use clean and organized, secure doors and entrances carefully, and communicate if anything unusual happens. During visits or overnight stays, I can provide regular updates and photos so you know how your pet is doing and can feel confident that they're safe, comfortable, and receiving attention.

Marika was always on time and communicative throughout this entire process. This is the first time I’ve used something like this and she made the experience easy. I was away, but my mother was here to stay with kennedy, and according to her experience, she said she came on time and really did take care of the dog during his walks. He would be very excited when he saw her through the window and ready to start his walk with her. And when he came back, he was tired a lot more calm than he’s been especially for being six months it was really impressive. She’s definitely someone I’m gonna reconsider hiring again if I need her for this type of situation. Also would like to point out that we loss his poop bag holder and she replaced it free of charge with one she had at home. Which she didn’t have to do. But I still appreciate so much.

About: I’m patient and gentle with dogs who need extra time to feel comfortable around new people. I also enjoy working with puppies and providing calm, consistent care tailored to each dog’s personality and needs. My goal is to help every pet feel safe, loved, and happy while in my care. I currently work Monday-Thursday 9:30am-4pm. I can do walks/drop in visits before and after work. Friday-Sunday I have all fall day to help care for your pet! I care for every pet as if they were my own, providing safe, attentive, and loving care during each walk or sitting visit. I follow your pet’s routine and care instructions, use safe leash practices, provide plenty of exercise and companionship, and make sure they are comfortable before I leave. About: Hi I’m Sivan. I have owned pets ranging from bunnies and fish to dogs. I dog-sit in my hometown and get along with pets very easily. I’m looking forward to caring for your loving pets and sharing my love, as I know I would want someone to do for my own. I am currently working part time and have availability on the weekdays (4pm-12) and weekends, any time. I do attend college and believe I am flexible with my time, as I have a schedule with gaps. I care for my pets by walking and curbing my dog. I feed him, groom him, shower him, play with him, cuddle, and give him lots of love. For my bunny, I clean her litter box every day, feed her, cut her nails, groom her, play with her and give her kisses and cuddles. I would do the same and then some for your furry friends. (:

Nateesha is so kind, considerate, and patient! She works with my schedule and is so calm and understanding of my pup. Kiwi is an elderly, antisocial, grumpy, and now (mostly) blind boy, and Nateesha took her time and engaged with him until he was comfortable. She also took the time to get to know what I was looking for and figure out what could alleviate my concerns. Highly recommend!!!

Daniel is family now. Bodhi is a new fur baby and to say I’m overprotective is an understatement. Unfortunately, I had a horrible car accident shortly after I adopted him and needed help. Daniel was responsive to my requests, communicated effectively and did a meet and greet. His personality is warm and Bodhi felt at ease. He even brought his pup Shiloh. So happy to have him in my support system. I trust him with Bodhi and that’s priceless.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
