“Lara was fantastic. We were out of town when our other sitter was unable to care for our animals. We reached out to Lara and she responded immediately, coming to our rescue. Great communication, updates and care provided. Will only use Lara in the future.”

“Aiyana did a great job and I'd happily book again. She was quick with responses during booking, sent me update pics while I was away, and the animals were happy and well when I got home.”

“Marie Angelika was very caring towards our dog! She took the time to meet before the official doggy visit which helped our dog feel really comfortable. She’s communicative and friendly! Would love to have her back!”

About: Hi, I'm Jenn! Having six years of experience as a vet tech, six years of experience caring for pets professionally, and caring for my personal furry companions animals for over 6o years, I bring an exceptional blend of experience, care, and responsibility to my pet care. I have a huge heart for cats and dogs and love to see them happy in their environment. My sensitive nature allows me to be highly attuned to animals and their needs. Others have often commented on my ability to anticipate the needs of people and animals before they are aware of them. I believe in the health and wellbeing of all living things. When your animal is under my care, you can be assured they are receiving the nurturing and care they deserve. I am available for walking, visits, boarding, and more. Please inquire for your particular needs and desires for your pet in your absence. I would be happy to keep your pet loved and safe while you are away. Injections, special needs, training/rehabilitation I am in a very open and expansive time currently in life. I am widely available round the clock for your pets needs. I am available daytime, evenings, and weekends. I do not have a fenced yard on the property I live on in the country, so when boarding with me, dogs will be on leash when outdoors. They will enjoy the many walks they will have around here. When at your home, I take care of your fur baby and belongs with the utmost respect and safety.
“Sara was amazing with our three cats when we went out of town. She spent time playing with all of them even our grumpy hard to find kitty. She kept us updated on the weather so we could make sure they kept cool during a surprise heatwave and made sure we knew all the changes in the house while we were gone. I highly recommend her to care for your pets, she truly treats them as her own.”

“Rose, you are the best! Thank you so much for dropping in to visit my kids when I had to be away today. They had a blast with you. You are a true dog lover and I feel so lucky to have found you. Thanks again from me and the fur angels :)”
About: My entire family love animals so I have had a variety of pets throughout my life. I have had fish, a dog, a cat, and a turtle! I love pets and I would love to help others with theirs!!! I dog sit for my family members when they need me to. As a student I have a lot of flexibility in my day to day schedule to take care of pets! My longest classes are an hour and half. I make sure there’s spaces in my schedule to have time to check in on the pets I’m caring for. I care for pets in a very caring way, I am very patient and calm. I try to feel the pets vibe so I match their energy and not overwhelm them. I would say I am also a very playful person if the pet is open to play.
“Highly recommended! Erika has been helping our 6 year old golden retriever (Maui) for several months now -- regular weekly walks and drop in visits when we are out of town. Very responsive, clear communication and takes great care of Maui.”

“David was a pet rockstar! He went above and begins my requests, and provided companion, exercise and extra toys and treats for my dog! I could not recommend this gentleman any higher. Will absolutely be booking him for any future trips and needs. Thanks David (and Huck his dog)!”
About: I think what sets me apart is my lifelong experience with animals and the fact that I truly understand how much they mean to their families. I grew up with a beagle and multiple cats, and now I have two bully breed dogs of my own. Caring for different breeds and personalities has taught me that every pet is unique and deserves patience, understanding, and individualized care. Owning bully breeds has also made me comfortable handling strong, energetic dogs while recognizing that they thrive with consistency, positive interactions, and plenty of love. I’m equally happy spending time with shy cats who need a calm presence or playful pets who want lots of attention. As a pet owner myself, I know how hard it can be to trust someone with your pets and your home. If someone were caring for my dogs, I’d want them to treat them like family, and that’s exactly how I’ll care for yours. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, medication, or simply someone to keep them company, my goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved until you’re home. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. I care for my own two dogs every day, including walks, feeding, playtime, enrichment, and making sure they get plenty of love and attention. Having had a cat as well, I’m also familiar with the routines and care that cats need. Because caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy, I’m able to build pet visits and walks into my schedule while giving each pet the time and attention they deserve. I believe in keeping pets on their normal routine as much as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure while their owners are away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, my priority is to keep their routine as consistent as possible so they feel safe and comfortable. I’ll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, medications, and any special needs or preferences. As a pet owner myself, I know how much trust it takes to welcome someone into your home. If someone were caring for my dogs, I’d want to know my home was secure, my pets were safe, and that they were being treated like family—because that’s exactly how I view my own dogs. I bring that same level of care and respect to every home I visit. I’ll treat your home as if it were my own by keeping it clean, secure, and exactly as I found it. I’ll also send regular photo and video updates so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy, well cared for, and getting plenty of love and attention while you’re away.
About: Hi, I'm Jamie! I've had up to 4 years of professional dog and catsitting experience and have established great relationships with a few recurring families. I've also grown up around dogs for my entire upbringing and am used to their behaviors, mannerisms, and how to handle them. I've had years of experience as a nanny as well, so I'm well equipped to care for both humans and animals, and how much attentiveness it requires. I have experience with different breeds as well as dogs with different temperaments. (Some with higher energy levels and some more timid and anxious.) I love dogs of all kinds and the playful energy they bring into my life. I consider myself to be a punctual, kind, and responsible individual. Looking forward to meeting you and your pets! I have a very flexible schedule with plenty of time to squeeze in the time necessary to care for animals. And since I love animals and the outdoor time, caring for them is an easy way to make sure I get to do both of those! I look out for behaviors that indicate when they might be feeling ill, or when they're needing to go outside to use the bathroom. I'll generally know when persistent barking or pawing indicates their hungry, or in need of potty or playtime. Given that I've grown up with dogs, I'm very used to scanning the environment for any potential crumbs or items they might find on the floor and am always checking to make sure doors are shut to prevent wandering.

I am a recently retired high school teacher sill working part time at UCSC, so am available most days to care for your pets. I have 2 dogs and 2 kitties at home, bit can easily help out pet parents who need extra walks, play time, or vacation care! My pets are my family (fur babies!) i will care for your pets like my own! I can care for your pets in your home- the least stressful for them! Or take them to a park, hikes, or a leisurely walk. “This is the second time I’ve had Vanessa take care of my cat. Both times she has been excellent with communication, timeliness and giving my cat plenty of attention while I’m away. Would absolutely recommend and use again in the future!”

“As always, Shylynn is the best pet sitter. Super reliable, great communication, and clearly loves the pets. It’s not just a job for her. She also takes really adorable photos which is a huge plus.”

Noemi was amazing with our two shy cats. She took care of them for 3 weeks while we were away. It is very clear that she genuinely loves cats and understands their personalities and boundaries. They both warmed up to her, which says a lot! We appreciated the daily photos and felt completely comfortable knowing our cats were with someone so cat-focused and caring. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to others.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Riverside Grove. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
