“I am so excited to have found Kara! Finding a great dog sitter who is comfortable taking my 100 lbs. Newfie mix is no easy feat, let alone one that is local to the SC Mountains! My Leeloo was absolutely spoiled with daily pack hikes in the redwoods and lots of puppy rumbles. Kara even helped work on her off-leash recall! About: Being around animals is something that brings me joy. I have been around pets my whole life, so I have a lot of experience with many different species of dogs and cats. I currently own one dog and he is just full of personality. I would love to meet your pets and care for them while also being able to see their character. My schedule is pretty open and flexible other than when I am taking care of my own pets, working my part time job, or dealing with college assignments. About: I have always had dogs growing up. When I was younger we did have a cat. I was a junior handler and dog trainer for my aunt who bred French Bulldogs for AKC shows. I practiced a little obedience/agility training during the same time. While in this setting I practiced with many different dog breeds and am comfortable handling any size dog. I helped a friend with her dog boarding company for a while and I encountered many different dogs here as well and not all as well trained. I absolutely love all animals I encounter. I love helping friends and family out with their animals while they are away. During college and high school, I would house sit/dog sit for friends. I have been around animals my entire life and I feel comfortable dealing with any situation thrown at me, whether it be a dog that isn't very good on a leash yet or a nervous animal who just needs a patient person to help take care of them while their family isn't there. My family currently has the goofiest labradoodle and Airedale terrier! We have two sweet pups, Gizmo, a poodle terrier, and Mazzy, a french bulldog. I am allergic to cats so while I'm happy to do drop ins and such with cats staying overnight with cats can be very difficult for me so I prefer to not sleep in homes that have cats. I am happy to wake up early and visit frequently if you have cats and dogs that way I can make sure every member of the family stays happy. Can't wait to meet your pups! I will be doing walks with my baby Mira either on my back in a carrier or in a stroller. If your pup isn't kid friendly I won't be a great fit, but I will keep my daughter separate just to keep pups comfortable and my daughter safe. My own home is not ideal as I already have two pups and a young baby at home, so I will not be able to accept any more pets into my home.

About: I have taken care of pets for quite some time. I grew up on a farm, so I have been around all sorts of animals all my life. I recently moved back here to the valley from Santa Cruz. Will be here for a year or so. When I was in Santa Cruz I volunteer for the animal shelter there. “Sumaira is always on time and I know I can count on her to take good care of my fur babies. While walking my Siberian Husky another dog that was unleased attacked my dog. Sumaira safely got my girl home and check her out from head to toe. She promptly notified me that the husky was attacked, however alright. Sumaira let me know there was a little blood on her ear, however she did not appear to be injured. I myself have had another dog attack us when we were walking. Sumaira did the responsible thing and notified me and ensured my girl was alright. In this type of situation that is best can be accomplished and despite this incident I will ask Sumaira to walk her again.”

About: I’ve been so lucky to have been raised with dogs my whole life, ever since I was young we’ve had two dogs at all times. I love to walk, play and nap with them. Friends, family and family friends have asked me to look after their pets. I love nature and getting to the outdoors and love taking doggy’s with me, and I also love to laze around like a house cat. I love all sorts of animals, dogs, cats, horses, chickens and pigs. I hope to own a farm one day with all sorts of animals running around enjoying their best life. I am currently openly available, I am looking for part-time work, but mostly want to spend time with the pup’s and take them on walks. Animals take care of us if we take care of them. So I love taking my dogs for walks and playing games with them, giving them belly scratches and more. and if they want to snooze I am all good with that too.

“I am so excited to have found Kara! Finding a great dog sitter who is comfortable taking my 100 lbs. Newfie mix is no easy feat, let alone one that is local to the SC Mountains! My Leeloo was absolutely spoiled with daily pack hikes in the redwoods and lots of puppy rumbles. Kara even helped work on her off-leash recall! She shared daily videos of their redwood romps and I picked up a very happy, very tired pup. We will definitely be booking with Kara whenever we can't bring our pups with us on trips.”

They were able to keep my very active dog really engaged with regular walks, potty breaks, playing fetch and training him (last two were them going above and beyond). They were very knowledgeable about pet care and had asked me to fill out a questionnaire about my dog and his activities before the stay so that they can keep it as a reference during his stay. Audrina also has a very helpful drop off checklist covering all the stuff my dog would need for his stay. Would be looking for Audrina’s help for a future stay as well!”
