Makayla so obviously loves animals! Our 11 month old Lab “puppy” is crazy about her and could care less when my husband and I leave. I don’t need to worry at all while we’re away, plus we get photos and updates too. She’s intelligent, caring and personable. We will most definitely call on her again. Jan &Tex Billings

About: I've been an avid animal lover for most of my life. I've had the amazing experience of dog sitting for 4 awesome dogs and taking care of my own dog Max for 11 amazing years. I've worked with dogs old and young (4-11 years of age), big and small (12-110 pounds). Although I haven't been given a chance to petsit for cats yet, I would love to be given an opportunity. I've loved every experience I've had with these amazing pets and hope to extend the same courtesy to your furry family members. I am currently a contract worker so my schedule is pretty free Monday-Friday whatever time of day. I am also available for whatever weekends you see open in my calender. My calendar is currently updated through August of 2026. I am very meticulous when it comes to following whatever rules and regulations pet parents put in place. I make it my goal to provide the best experience for the owners piece of mind on the quality of care for their fur babies.

About: All my life I’ve had animals . I’ve had everything from Min Pins to Pitties. They rely on us and deserve the best care and environment. I am currently a stay at home mom. I am home all day except to drop off and pick up my child from school. Weekends are usually spent at home relaxing in the backyard. I have a fence in backyard with a doggy door that allows animals to come and go through out the day. I let dogs on the couch to cuddle. 🥰

I'm so happy that I found Amanda! She handled my three doggies with ease and on short notice. It's no small thing having a stranger sleep in your house, but I felt at ease with Amanda. She was a perfect house guest, and I came home to three calm and happy dogs.

About: I've always had dogs and crate trained my dogs. I know how to train basic commands but nothing really beyond that. I do love playing with dogs and also relaxing with them as well. I do work full time but I do work from home most of the week. So my schedule is pretty flexible for the most part. I have a fenced yard, and 4 friendly dogs. We do have 2 cats but they stay outside as they don't like our dogs. I make sure the the pet I babysit is comfortable and listen to instructions on the owners requests.

About: I've taken care of dogs for 3 weeks at a time. I've trained dogs basic skills like sit, down, roll over, turn around, leave it, and sit and stay. I've had many dogs of my own and 2 cats I'm available to watch animals before and after work and I can also attend to them in between 12 and 1 on my lunch break. I work from 8:00 to 5:00. I'm early riser. I Love to keep them happy while their owners are away. When I'm caring for animals, I spend time with them I make sure they're well fed and have plenty of water. What makes me happy is having your baby happy while you are away. I love taking them for walks or even going to the park. I do like cuddling. I have no problem with your fur baby sleeping with me at night.

We were so happy with Leslie. She sat with our two dogs over the holiday weekend. She sent updates and checked in on a regular basis . When one pup had runny stool she even offered to make a special food to help her tummy. Leslie left the house as nice as she found it and was super respectful of our things but most importantly our dogs enjoyed her company and we trusted her through this first experience of leaving them behind. If she’d have us again we’d love to have her sit for us again sometime !

We really liked Katie and our dog, Skyy, seemed to like her too. During our first meeting, she was friendly, engaged and asked the right questions. Before and while house/dog sitting for us, she was communicative which gives owners confidence. And during her stay, she sent us pictures of Skyy. She is a bright young lady and we felt the house and dog were in good hands!

About: I grew up on a small farm, and from as young as I could remember, I was always the “Animal Wrangler”, and main caretaker for my friends’ and family's pets, anytime I would visit. I started pet sitting more professionally in 2012, beginning Team Max as an All-In-One, Pet/House/Child Sitter, with Cleaning, Transportation, and General Task Assistance available, as additional services. I’ve worked with a wide variety of animals, from big to small, old, or wild, and most with special needs. (Only Spiders are off limits). I’m currently getting my degree in Animal Training, followed by a Vet Tech degree; so, soon I’ll have a brochure of training opportunities I can provide and more. I'm available 24/7 for short term and long term stays; including emergency visits, performing additional tasks, and providing grooming or training services during anytime of the year! I like to build a foundation of trust by meeting with my clients beforehand. Not only for us and the pets to feel safe and comfortable, but, I enjoy getting a walk-through of the house, learning how it functions, and talking through any concerns, prior to the first stay or visit.

I’m an artist with a very flexible schedule looking to fill a need in my community! I can accommodate nearly every shape and size of situation—especially holidays and last minute bookings! As someone with very high standards, I only wish to provide the services that I absolutely expect for my pets! About: Animals have always been my passion! Ever since I was 13, I've taken care of many different kinds of animals, from scaley to furry; I've handled it all. I can dog walk, come to your home to pet or house sit, or stop by to let your dog out. You name it, I can do it! I live with 3 cats, and they all love attention! I also care for my dog and cat at my mother's as well when I can. I'll feed your pet, bathe your pet, take your pet to potty, play with your pet, and, of course, love on your pet! About: I have a 5 year old rescue that we raised since she was a puppy. I have experience with dogs of all ages and can adjust my style of care to meet your dogs needs. Sometimes more intensive exercise can be hard to find time for when owners are working during the day. I am more than happy to take your pup on a run with me around the neighborhood for those high energy pets! I will work with you to make sure I am providing the care that you want for your pup. I am available throughout the mornings and midday during the work week. If there is a specific schedule you would like to keep, please let me know and we can figure something out. Please see my availability for more details. I focus on making sure your pup gets the attention and care they need while I am with them. Being home for hours can be stressful for pets, and I am happy to provide some care for them while you are away.

FAQs for House Sitting - Riverbank

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Riverbank on Rover is $33.3 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 456 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Riverbank. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Riverbank walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Riverbank maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Riverbank choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Riverbank. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
