Purvi was so great with my dogs, who can be very anxious around people. They took to her immediately! Her tone and manner with them was perfect. I would highly recommend Purvi as an attentive caretaker and good communicator.

About: Hi! I’m a 22 year old recent college grad looking to walk dogs while I wait to start my full-time job in Mexico this winter. I’ve been on Rover for about 3 years where I’ve made great connections with clients and their pets. Feel free to reach out to ask about my availability! I can currently accept weekly bookings! Most of my mornings/afternoons are free for the time being so feel free to reach out and ask about a date/time. I have 2 cats of my own and live with 4 dogs at home. I also have 8 reptiles including 5 snakes and 3 geckos.

We are new to the country and Rover app . Therefore had fair share of doubts with regard to leaving our pet Madder . Our experience with Emma has rested all our doubts. Her skills, smiling and affable demeanor instantly lifted our spirits and our confidence bounced right back. Emma updated us with pics and videos of our pet and her reassuring words made our day out, stress free and delightful. We look forward to her services again. Thank you Emma and team Rover .

We had an amazing experience with Jake! From the start, he was extremely communicative, which immediately helped us feel confident and at ease. He followed every request we had for Ollie and his little, it was very clear Jakr genuinely cared about making sure Ollie felt comfortable and happy. We received updates throughout the visit, which we really appreciated, and it was so reassuring to know that Ollie was in such kind and capable hands. Our pup can be a little particular, but seemed like he warmed up quickly, which says a lot about the care and patience he was shown. Overall, we’re incredibly grateful to have found someone so reliable, attentive, and compassionate. We will absolutely be booking with Jake again, and we highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dog walker who truly goes above and beyond for your furry family member!

Joanna provided me with great communication, updates and pictures throughout her stay. We are so extremely grateful because Joanna was able to step in at the last minute. We would definitely recommend her, and I hope to be able to book her as a sitter again.

Diana has looked after my cat Lily on two occasions, and I couldn’t be any happier. I know Lily is always so well taken care of, which allows me to be present on my trips, and she enjoys Diana so much, I don’t worry. I don’t travel much, but when I have to, I always reach out to Diana first to see if she is available!

Kat was fantastic with our very anxious dog. We had planned a 5-night trip months ago, but didn't have a dog sitter in the area that we knew. After finding Kat on Rover, she came over several times in advance to get to know our 9-year-old dog and was so patient with her when it took her some time to warm up to her. When the trip came, we felt confident it would go well. Kat stayed at our house while we were away and made sure our dog was comfortable despite numerous thunder storms that week. She sent updates to let us know how things were going. We're so grateful for the care she provided and are so thrilled we now have someone local who we can call on in the future!

About: I’ve always had multiple pets my whole life from a young age, learned responsibilities by feeding, grooming, walking, entertaining, training and medically providing for all my pets and any animal in my care. I have experience working in multiple vet clinics throughout my childhood as I was a pre-vet major up until junior year of college so I have a lot of experience with all kinds of animals and medical knowledge as well. I now have my own dog, Appa, who is 2 that I raised from a puppy and am currently self training. I am currently a phd grad student at vanderbilt university so I have morning classes and lab work, but I live right down the road from campus (less than 5 min drive) and I always come home immediately after my classes/work to be home with Appa. Pet care fits into my daily schedule as I spend as much time as i can working from home so I can be with my dog. I have a 1 bedroom apartment and i live with my 2 year old fur baby named Appa! I have an apt with room for some zoomies and room to play with toys, I have a balcony if they like being outside and my buidling also has a small dog park on the roof with 2 fenced circular yards lined with turf so they can run around at a mini park as much as they want!

About: When I’m not at work, I spend most of my time with our 9 year old rescue dog Cooper, or spending time going on walks as a family. In my spare time, I’ve had the pleasure of fostering 7 rescue dogs in our home until they all were matched with a loving family and their forever homes❤️. Lover of all animals (cats included, although I cannot pet them due to allergies🤧). I enjoy getting to meet and take care of all sorts of pets on Rover. I’ve even had the chance to feed a families horses while they were away on vacation. If your fuzzy family member needs a babysitter, a nice walk, or anything in between then feel free to send me a message! Currently open 7 days a week for availability. Feel free to reach out regarding availability or with any questions, and I’m also happy to do a meet and greet if preferred. For high energy dogs I have taken them on neighborhood walks, hikes, or played toys with them. I always let the pet parent guide me on what their dog is up for. We have a senior dog gentleman of our own, so for dogs with a milder temperament I am happy to take them on short walks or can hang inside with them if that’s more their speed.

Justin was absolutely the best. He sent so many pictures told me what they were doing (my pup beau) even moved my flowers out of the sun as it was so hot he said they were dying stripped the bed and washed the sheets before he left. House was neat and most of all Beau looked great. Thank you Justin

About: I am an avid lover of animals, having cared for my own and others’ pets for over 4 decades. I currently am the proud mother of one human, two cats, four chinchillas, a hermit crab and a beautiful Beta fish. Over the years I have also had turtles, guinea pigs, rabbits, and dogs! I am available for petcare indoors and out, whether you are looking for occasional service or routine. I do think it is important to build trust with your pet(s) and am happy to take the time to do so. I am happy to walk your dog(s) in all kinds of weather! I am comfortable administering medicine and care taking your exotic pets too. During the school year I teach middle school science, where I help youngsters to develop a comfort with and love for living things, indoors and out! My daytime availability during the school year is reduced as a result...

About: Hi! I’m a reliable and caring pet sitter with about 6 years of occasional experience helping family, friends, and private clients with dog sitting and house sitting. I offer overnight house sitting and drop-in visits, making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. I’m experienced with feeding routines, walks, basic grooming, and giving medications when needed. I’ve cared for a range of dogs, from small terriers to larger breeds like Labs and Staffordshire/pit bull mixes, and I’m comfortable adjusting to different energy levels and personalities. Along with pet care, I also help with light house tasks like bringing in mail, watering plants, and keeping things tidy while you’re away. I currently have a mini lop bunny at home, so I’m also familiar with small animal care and the extra gentleness and attention they need. Since I can’t have a dog of my own right now, I love being able to spend time with other people’s pets and give them attention and care while their owners are away. My schedule is flexible, but I do work a full-time Monday–Friday job. I’m remote two days a week, which gives me extra flexibility for drop-in visits, walks, and pet care during the workday when needed. For overnight stays, I can adjust my routine to stay in the home and make sure pets are kept on their normal schedule with consistent care and attention. I’m also available for morning, evening, and weekend care depending on what’s needed. I like to plan my time around the pet’s routine as much as possible so they feel comfortable, cared for, and not disrupted while their owners are away. When I’m caring for pets in your home, I always prioritize keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I follow all instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, and any specific house rules. I’m very mindful about safety. I make sure doors are secured, pets are supervised during walks, and nothing unsafe is left within reach. I also take care to keep the home clean and respectful, and I treat every home like it’s my own. If I’m doing overnight stays, I make sure pets feel comfortable and not alone, especially at night. I also stay attentive to any changes in behavior and communicate right away if anything seems off. With pets in general, I’m calm, patient, and detail-oriented, and I always aim to make sure both the pets and the home are well cared for while owners are away.

FAQs for House Sitting - Ringoes

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 2,924 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ringoes. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ringoes walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ringoes maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ringoes choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ringoes. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
