About: I've been taking care of my best friend's and my neighbors' dogs since before I can remember, and have two very happy and healthy cats myself. I can take care of any animal, but cats and dogs are my favorites. I love to take dogs on walks and playing fetch (even on 100+ degree days) because every dog deserves the best treatment. Pet care is 24/7 for me with two cats, but since it's summertime, I'm able to be free any day of the week at any time to take care of pets, and can spend long amounts of time with pets without having to leave them. I will follow any and all rules and set by you, including feeding times, walk requests and more, as all I want is to ensure your pet is safe, happy, and taken care of properly. “Brian is an exceptional human being with tremendous integrity. We went away for two weeks and left him in charge of our home, our acreage, and our lively young cat. He was simply amazing in every way you wish a house sitter or a pet sitter could be. The phrase “above and beyond” came to our minds over and over while we were on our vacation. Our cat bonded with him deeply. In fact, she walked around the house crying for him in the evenings when we first returned home. She couldn’t figure out where her play buddy went. Brian was a fantastic communicator – – sharing all the ordinary goings-on‘s with the house and our cat, including cute photos and video clips. But he also really stepped up when a harder moment came. A powerful wind storm came through the area while we were away, and Brian did an outstanding job of prepping for a possible power outage— which did not end up happening. He also did a great job of communicating with us about any possible house or tree damage— which luckily also did not happen. What we appreciated most about Brian was his calm, warm, caring, and very-capable demeanor. We feel very blessed to have gotten to know him, and we plan to have him watch over our home and pets for years to come.”

About: Dogs are family, and that is how I treat every visit. I have spent 12 years caring for my family dog and now my own, along with regular walks, drop-ins, and overnight care for the pets of neighbors, friends, and family. I am comfortable with dogs of every size. Millie, the Bernese Mountain Dog in my photos, is my boyfriend's dog and lives at his house, but I walk and care for her often. At over 100 pounds, so I can handle larger dogs who may pull on walls. I am experienced with administering oral medications, managing leash-reactive dogs on walks, and handling standard crate and feeding routines. I keep detailed notes on each pet's needs and quirks, and I always have your vet's information on hand in case of an emergency. You will never have to wonder how your dog is doing, because I am happy to send updates throughout a visit. I am available for early morning visits and again toward the end of the workday and into the evening, which suits pet parents who need care before or after their own workday. Midday visits may be possible with advance notice. I have some weekend availability as well; just message me and we will coordinate. Safety Your pet's safety comes first. Dogs stay leashed and harnessed any time we are outside, including in shared hallways, elevators, and lobbies, since neighbors and other dogs can appear around a corner without warning. I check the weather before every walk and adjust: short routes and shaded paths in the heat, and less time outside in the cold. Before the first visit, I make sure your vet's information, any medications, and other specifics are written down or saved in the Rover app for easy reference. We can go over detailed instructions at the meet and greet or by message beforehand. If anything seems wrong, you will hear from me immediately. Trust I work full time in HR, so confidentiality and the careful handling of sensitive information are things I take seriously. I treat your keys, door codes, and home with that same standard of care. Keys are never labeled with an address or unit number, and they are stored securely in my home when not in use. You will receive photos and an update with every visit. I never bring anyone along, and I never share photos of your pet publicly without asking first. If my plans change, you will hear about it early rather than at the last minute. Environment In your home, I stick to the areas you tell me to use and leave everything as I found it, including lights, doors, and the thermostat. I also pick up after your pet and tidy anything we have used before I leave.

About: I’ve taken care of a wide variety of pets. From small to medium to large dogs and cats to rats, hamsters, rabbits and guinea pigs to non-venomous snakes and lizards, I’ve been able to take parts in a number of fluff balls and scaly critters lives. I have experience in training young pups, litter training small mammals, and habituating reptiles. I like to be active, giving your pet all the attention they need. I do work a full time job that takes me away from the house from 7-3:30. I fit in a breakfast and a walk before leaving in the morning. From June 22-August 17, I work mon-thurs. the rest of the year is mon-fri I will walk your dog a minimum of 2 times a day, as well as play with them (provided there is a yard/space). I can continue training routines and generally spend much of my day giving attention to your pet. Additionally, if you maintain a garden or have potted plants, I will keep them happy and healthy as well

I feel very comfortable knowing that they—and my home—are in her hands. If you need more information, read on! I reached out to Vanessa to pet-sit in my home, including overnight stays, for three days. Given her background working at the EASEL shelter and her interest in special education and social work, I thought she would be an especially good fit for my two dogs: my eight-year-old, 80-pound poodle mix and my four-month-old, 15-pound Miniature American Shepherd puppy.
 I was somewhat anxious about leaving a young puppy with a sitter. At four months old, puppies are still learning, and I knew that inconsistent handling could easily lead to the development of unwanted habits. From our very first meeting, however, Vanessa gave me confidence that my dogs were in good hands.
 At our Meet & Greet, my large poodle mix approached Vanessa with his big, loud, deep bark. It was the first time he had ever met her and she handled the introduction beautifully. Rather than immediately trying to engage with him, she remained calm and allowed him the time and space to figure out that she was not a threat. She didn't overreact or become nervous, and the interaction went very well.
 When she met the puppy, who immediately started jumping on her, I said, "Off," at the same moment Vanessa said, "Down." She immediately adjusted and began using "Off" as well. That small moment told me a lot. It was clear that she was paying attention to the puppy's development and understood how important consistency is when training a young dog. She listened carefully to my concerns and gave me thoughtful feedback, which reassured me that she truly understood what I was looking for.
 While I was away, Vanessa sent me pictures and videos of the dogs eating both breakfast and dinner. This was especially reassuring with a four-month-old puppy because it confirmed that they were being fed at the appropriate times. I trust the sitters I hire, but I also appreciate having confirmation that they've arrived and knowing that important parts of the dogs' routine are being followed. I've had sitters in the past who didn't provide that kind of communication, leaving me wondering whether they had arrived or whether something unexpected had prevented them from getting there. A simple picture or message eliminates that unnecessary anxiety for me, and Vanessa was excellent about keeping me informed.
 After I returned, I asked Vanessa if she would be willing to sit again in a couple of weeks. She adjusted her schedule to accommodate my dates, which I thought was incredibly considerate and definitely above and beyond the call of duty!
 As I watched Vanessa interact with the dogs after spending three days with them, I could see that she understood the importance of correcting the puppy when necessary and, just as importantly, knew how to do it appropriately. She didn't overreact, but she also didn't let things slide. She was consistent about using the correct commands, which is particularly important with a puppy who is learning what is expected of her. I now have a list of obedience commands that I can leave for Vanessa on her next visit, and I have complete confidence that she will use them consistently.
 When I returned home, I found the house exactly as I had left it. Vanessa had even stripped the bed in the guest room, making it easier for me to wash the sheets. That small gesture was another example of how thoughtful and considerate she was throughout her stay.
 Vanessa is attentive, thoughtful, responsible, and genuinely caring. She clearly understands dogs, but what impressed me most was her attentiveness to my puppy's development and her willingness to follow through consistently with the training and routines I had established.
 I highly recommend Vanessa as a pet sitter and would absolutely have her care for my dogs again. I feel very comfortable knowing that they—and my home—are in her hands.”
