“Angela and her mom were very loving and kind to my Nelly. Quick responses and picture updates throughout the stay. She ever took in my dog last minute on Easter Sunday. The Rover app shows the location to be closer to Blacksburg that it really is but there weren’t many other options that were compatible for Nelly so it was worth the drive! I would use this sitter again if I was in the area.”

“David and Linda were very communicative and cooperative by providing lots of updates and pictures of Chico. They took great care of my pup, spent a lot of time with him and made sure he was comfortable and happy. I highly recommend their services and will definitely go with them again in the future”

“Nancye is absolutely amazing! She loved and spoiled our Josey as if he was her own. I loved that we had the opportunity to have a meet and greet before we took our trip. She took him on walks. He loves car rides and she took him to get ice cream with her getting him a pup cup. It was our 1st time leaving him with someone new and she sent us pictures and updated all along the way. Nancye has such a love for fur babies and it shows. Would definitely recommend her.”

“Henry and Cherlye Ann were amazing sitters! I felt good as soon as we shock hands in their beautiful vegetable garden (thanks for the rosemary and basil sprigs!) Penny was immediately comfortable and settled right in. They were very responsive and kept me up to date on Penny’s stay. HIGHLY RECOMMEND as sitters; it was very comforting to know they only take on one dog at a time as Penny can be wary of new dogs in close quarters. I know Penny will be back…and honestly, she didn’t seem too keen to leave!”

“Nellie recently spent two nights with Holly. Holly is super responsible and professional, keeps the dogs on a good sleeping and eating schedule, and seems to be very tuned into different dogs' personalities and what their individual needs are. She has a large backyard for the dogs to play with eachother. Facebook photos she sent of my doggie were appreciated and provided reassurance that Nellie was having a good time. Will definitely use Holly's services again!”

“Walt kept our boy, Teddi, for four days. Teddi is a 3 yo intact English Shepherd who has never spent a night away from us. Teddi is a very well behaved and friendly boy but we were a bit anxious how this would go. Walt kept us well informed on how Teddi was doing. Walt gave Teddi great care and a lot of attention. When we returned to pick up Teddi, it was obvious that he and Teddy had bonded very well. We are very pleased with the care that Walt provided and will certainly use him again.”

“Carmen was very helpful in watching our elderly dog while we had a long weekend away. She communicated well and was very interested in his well-being while he stayed with her. Highly recommend.”

“Dogs looked like they had a great time! Great fenced in back yard. Well feed and responses within 30 minutes to a hour tops. Was able to get us in last minute which was great! Would use again.”

“Veronica is great! She truly enjoyed caring for our dog Niko and sent us photos/videos everyday. It was clear he received lots of love and playtime inside and outside of the house. Would love to have him stay again. Thanks so much!!”

“The kennels are large & dogs seemed to enjoy themselves. Both my dogs were kept together which was nice. My boys seemed quite pleased in the photo sent to me during vacation. Will use again if needed.”

About: I always grew up with my own animals and knew I wanted to to be a veterinarian one day. When I was in high school I started my own dog walking business to make some money and then heard a doggy daycare was opening up in town. I was the first to apply! I worked there for a while until I started at a local veterinarian at 16. Now I am going into my second year of vet school and wanted a way to fill some of my free time. Due to my busy class schedule I only have a cat right now, so I really enjoy spending extra time with dogs! My goal is to adopt a pit bull mix by the end of vet school because they have a special place in my heart! Over the past seven years, I’ve had the privilege of working with animals in a variety of settings from general care to specialty medicine to emergency and my passion for them only continues to grow. I'm skilled in administering medications and injections, caring for both puppies and senior pets, assisting with more challenging or nervous animals, and understanding dog behavior and body language. During the school year my schedule does vary Monday through Friday as labs are different days/times every week, however, they are only two hours long so I am flexible for the rest of the day! I really enjoy hanging out with animals as a study break! I also keep my schedule up to date on Rover! I'm available most days. Just message me about times and I will get back to you as soon as possible! I currently live in an apartment. I have one cat and my roommate has a cat. They both do well with dogs and will mainly keep to themselves and stay in our rooms. We are trying to socialize them more to dogs to get them more comfortable for when we adopt one in the next year! In our apartment we have two floors so we can keep the animals together when we are home and then separate them with a baby gate when we go out. There is a large unfenced backyard behind my apartment that is a communal space and lots of walking trails around including the Huckleberry Trail!

“We felt very comfortable leaving our 10 lb Cavapoo with Kurt. We’ve used Rover a few times before, but this was our best experience. He sent us some pictures to show that she had settled in which was very nice. Will definitely use again.”

“Maverick loved his stay with Nancy & family. He was treated like family and got to do all the things he loves, play with dog friends & kids, find all the hidden balls in the house and sleep in a real bed :). Thanks again for making him feel so welcome and giving us peace of mind while we were away.”

“I wanted to take my dogs to Shannon last year, based on her profile alone. She has experience with senior dogs and dogs with disabilities. I can't remember if I didn't take the vacation or she just wasn't available for the dates I needed but, I didn't use her last year. This year, I needed a sitter for 3 nights as I was going out of town. She took care of my little beagle, Buddy and my golden doodle, Toby. I've had both of these dogs for less than 3 months. When I took them to visit her before the vacation, they took to her and her household immediately so I felt very secure leaving them 2 days later when I went on vacation. My niece also left her little Aussie dog with her as well. Shannon sent lots of pictures of the dogs and descriptions of their activities each day! She let us know if they weren't eating and she gave her input and thoughts as to why they were doing or not doing something unusual. She gave me and my niece both peace of mind and that's the number one thing we needed from a dog sitter. We could tell that she loved on our dogs just as if they were her children and we loved it. I'll always be reaching out to her when I'm in need of a sitter for sure!”

About: I am a big believer that humans need dogs as much as dogs need humans and I would love to be that human for your dog! I am currently a student at Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine earning a Masters degree in Biomedical science. I have classes during the week from 8-12, but spend every minute after class home in my apartment with the exception of an hour break to go to the gym. On the weekends i am often studying, so I will be home at all times. I have a small one bedroom apartment that has plenty of room for a dog to have free range. I allow dogs on the furniture and bed so that is no issue. There is plenty of room for a crate, which i would prefer if I am leaving the dog alone while I am at class. There is an excellent 2 mile walking trail around my complex that I do daily and would love to take your dog as my companion!
