About: I’ve loved animals ever since I was a child. Though I don’t have kids of my own, I treat every pet I care for like family. I have over 10 years of experience caring for animals of all breeds, ages, and personalities and have become the go-to sitter for friends and family. I’ve worked with both puppies and senior dogs, always making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Professionally, I’ve worked at both PetSmart Pet Hotel and PetBar, where I had hands-on experience in feeding, monitoring, playtime, administering medications, and assisting with grooming. I’m not currently working so I have plenty of time on my hands to care for your pet. I have a 7yr old fur-son here to keep yours company as well. I’m always happy to make accommodations based on your pet’s unique needs—whether that means extra walks, baths, or just more cuddle time. I love capturing a pet’s personality in photos and will send you regular updates so you can feel connected and at ease while you're away.

“She was so flexible with schedule, and it made everything work out In the end. So thankful our dog got to be with her for the week. She took great care of him, and will definitely rebook in the future!”

About: We love dogs. Dogs are an integral part of our lives and we treat them like family. We have a 7-year-old mini Aussie and an 11-year-old mutt who get along with all dogs and are used to always having other dogs in the house, whether it's a foster dog, dog in training or pet sitting for friends. All dogs in our house sleep in our bedroom with us (we have 7 dog beds surrounding our own that they can choose from), they are never crated, and have access to the doggy door to the backyard all day. We take all dogs on multiple walks a day and both my husband and I work from home so they always have company. My husband worked for many years as a professional dog trainer at a kennel, training dogs in agility and behavior modification. He ran agility for 10+ years before we met and together we have trained 4 dogs to be diabetes alert dogs. We also actively foster dogs through Furry Friends Animal Rescue and have rescued around 150 dogs over the last decade, anywhere from 3lb to 90lb puppies to senior dogs. Through this organization we have experienced it all: rescuing pregnant moms who had their puppies at our house, rescuing feral dogs with demodectic mange and nursing them back to health, taking on the challenging dogs that shelter staff deemed unadoptable and turning them around... there is very little we haven't seen. And if we do run into situations that we haven't seen, I can always call my sister or my brother-in-law for advice, both of whom are vets. We have twin 6-year-old kids who love dogs as much as we do, so we always enjoy having other dogs over to cuddle with and be play mates for our personal dogs. We are new to Rover but have been dog sitting for friends and families who adopted former foster dogs for over 10 years. So long as the dogs get along with kids and other dogs, we would love to host them. My husband works from home and I work from home 3 days of the week so between the two of us there is always someone in the house with the dogs. One of us goes on a walk around lunch time with the dogs and the other goes on a walk with them in the evening after the kids are in bed. On the weekends, the entire family joins for these walks. Most dogs learn to use the doggy door within a day of being in our house, so we don't follow a specific schedule for taking them out for the purpose of going potty as they have all-day access to the yard. When we are working, the dogs are usually curled up on our laps or on the many dog beds around our feet. Our backyard is completely enclosed with 6ft board on board wood fence and chicken wire all around 2 feet underground. When we adopted our mini Aussie from the shelter, we knew he was an escape artist (reason why he ended up in the shelter) so we made sure the backyard was escape-proof. Our house is still child-proofed from when we had our twins so the dogs can't get into anything that the kids can't. We will follow your lead to make your dogs as comfortable as possible. If your dogs are used to being loose in the house, we will do that as well. But if you prefer that we crate your dogs, we do have crates and baby gates that we can bring into the house for that. If we commit to watching your dogs, we won't rescue or host any other dogs during that stay to make sure your dogs stay safe only in the company of our personal dogs, who are well socialized and fully vaccinated.

“Shannon is wonderful! She has such a kind heart and truly cares about the wellbeing of your pet. Our dog immediately felt at home with her in her house and we were completely at ease knowing he was being well cared for while we were out of town. Would highly recommend her and look forward to using her again!”

“Anita and her husband are the best! They went above and beyond taking care of my dog and made my wife and I very happy to see how well he was doing with the daily updates. We are very fortune to have found such an amazing sitter.”

Not only did she ensure they were well-fed, clean, and healthy, but she also spent quality time with them, keeping them happy and comfortable in my absence. I received regular updates, photos, and messages that gave me peace of mind and allowed me to truly relax while away. It was clear that my pets felt safe and well cared for – they were calm and content when I returned, which speaks volumes.
