About: I’m a certified dog trainer with 30 years of experience and have helped thousands of dogs—from puppies to seniors. Your dog will never go home with worse manners after staying with me! Every pup gets one-on-one attention, enrichment, and plenty of daily playtime. I’m home the majority of the week, which means your dog gets lots of company, cuddles, and care! I’m happy to board your sweet pup anytime you need me. I’ve got a fully fenced yard and a goofy young playmate who loves making new dog friends! Your pup will enjoy tons of zoomies, sniffing, and social fun. At night, everyone snoozes safely in their crates—but don’t worry, I’m always on “midnight potty duty” for puppies and seniors who need a quick outing!

“Alyson was wonderful! She was very patient with my dogs, even when they got nervous and peed on her floor. They quickly warmed up to her and her dog, and from the photos she sent, it was obvious they were having a great time. I will definitely rebook with Alyson.”

“Kristine gave our dog Chauncey exceptional care! She gave us updates with photos , which is very important to us. She was communicative and overall just lovely to interact with. She even mended a bandana he was wearing. On top of it, she sent him home with a Halloween bandana she sewed! We will definitely request her care again.”

About: I’ve taken care of many pets in my life as I used to live on a farm growing up. I treat them all as if they’re my kids. I have a part time job as a nurse at a nursing home and I have two children in the home but over the ages of 15, other than that I have no young kids or other pets. I have a fenced yard with plenty of room to play! As well I have a park 2 mins from my home that I can take any pet I’m caring for.
“Jannice was wonderful! From the moment we met, I could tell she loves animals. Our dog Lili took to her right away. I highly recommend her! You can’t trust just anyone with your furry baby, but I know I can trust Jannice. - Caroline”

“We are very happy and satisfied with the service provided by Christopher and Chelsea. Our Roscoe was very well taken care of ! He received plenty of love and exercise and had a good time with the other dogs! Definitely will use their services in the near future! Thank you Christopher and Chelsea!”

“Roxy felt immediately at home with Jennifer and we got daily pictures and reports. Jennifer is kind and patient and ensured meals and walks were timely and sufficient. Roxy was a very happy girl!”

About: 🐾 I’m absolutely obsessed with cats—and honestly, that’s the biggest reason I’m here. Rover isn’t just a side thing for me… I genuinely love spending time with cats and getting to know all their unique personalities. At home, I care for three cats of my own, so I understand everything from playtime energy to quiet, independent moods. I’m also known locally as a stray cat feeder and caretaker, and I always keep cat food in my car—because you truly never know when a hungry kitty might need help. Caring for animals isn’t something I “turn on”—it’s just part of who I am every day. While cats are my specialty, I’ve recently been spending more time around dogs as well and have become increasingly comfortable and confident with them. I’m patient, attentive, and quick to adapt to different temperaments, whether your pet is energetic, shy, or somewhere in between. When you trust me with your pet, you’re getting someone who is: ✔️ Reliable & responsive ✔️ Gentle, patient, and detail-oriented ✔️ Experienced with multiple-cat households ✔️ Truly passionate about animal care I’ll treat your pet like they’re my own—with love, respect, and close attention to their needs. Whether it’s feeding, playtime, medication, or just keeping them company, I’ve got it covered. I’m also very flexible and able to travel, so feel free to reach out with whatever you need—I’m happy to make it work!! Pet care fits perfectly into my routine. I recently bought a house here in Albany, so it’s just me and my studies now — which means I have plenty of time and flexibility to devote to caring for your cats. As a law student, my classes are only on Mondays and Wednesdays, so the rest of the week I’m fully available to spend quality time making sure your cat (or cats!) get the love, attention, and care they need. In a client’s home, I focus on keeping your cat’s routine consistent and stress-free. That means fresh food and water on schedule, a clean litter box, and plenty of playtime and affection — whether that’s cuddles, brushing, or just quiet company if your cat prefers space. I always make sure to respect your home, follow your instructions closely, and send regular updates so you know your pet is happy and safe. If I’m welcoming a cat into my own home, I create a calm, cozy environment with safe spaces for them to explore or retreat to, depending on their personality. I treat every cat as if they were my own — with patience, attentiveness, and lots of love.
“Alex was a fantastic dog sitter for our senior dog, Zuzu! He provided lots of pictures during her stay, and in every one, Zuzu looked so happy and comfy. She received several walks per day, and lots of pets. I would book Alex again in a heartbeat!”

“Samantha was a great host for my senior lab. It was so easy to communicate with her and she was very available throughout the stay and prior. She sent me updates and gave me great peace of mind while i was apart from my pup. I would recommend Samantha to anyone looking for a responsible and caring host for their furry children.”

“Amanda is the best dog-sitter ever and Woodrow had a fantastic time with her!!!! Amanda was very transparent, kept in constant contact and sent plenty of pics of Woodrow on hikes, walks, sleeping, sun bathing and playing. I can leave Woodrow without any concerns at all. I would definitely recommend Amanda and leave Woodrow with her again for future trips! Thank you so much for taking care of my boy and allowing me to have a worry-free vacation. 🫶🏼”

“I left my two elderly kitties with Anna for 10 days over the holidays. She has two small dogs but assured me she would keep them separated as long as necessary. They are on a pretty strict medication schedule, and I've had sitters in the past not adhere to it, and it shows. My cat has severe food allergies and if he doesn't take his medication regularly it's very obvious. My cats came back looking better than ever! She was communicative, sent pictures, and assured me they were doing well regularly. I would definitely recommend Anna!”

“Robin and John always take such amazing care of my little Fred. Her dogs are so gentle with him and he always has plenty of outside time to run wild. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to watch him!!”

I was able to find Albert last minute, and I'm so glad I did! He's a total pro, and I knew my dog was in great hands within a few minutes of meeting him. He took excellent care of my dog, and even took the initiative to work with her on some behavioral issues while I was away. I'll definitely be booking with him again!!

We couldn’t be happier with Milo’s stay! Vera went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and happy. We received frequent photo and video updates, and it was obvious from every update that Milo was having an amazing time. He came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. Her communication was excellent, and we felt completely at ease knowing Milo was in such good hands. Highly recommend, and we would definitely book with her again!

Anna took care of our 2 senior boxes for 2 days while we were on vacation. Normally we leave them with trusted family members while we travel, but our daughter had plans and could not keep them in her care. Anna is the first pet sitter outside family who has kept them in her home. She cared for them as if they were her very own. They settled in easily and got along famously with Anna's fur babies. I highly recommend Anna to anyone needing to board their pet outside their home.

Sunny as always had the best time with Bryanna. His tummy was still feeling upset so we left specific feeding instructions and Bryanna made sure to implement them. Whenever our pup isn’t feeling the best we always feel nervous about leaving him beyond but Bryanna always keeps us feeling reassured that he’s in perfect hands.

This was our boxer Peanut’s second time staying with Shantalee and it was again wonderful. She is attentive, sends tons of photos and drops in with notes just to let you know your pup is doing okay. She lives in a great apartment in an easy area to get to, not congested for good walks with dogs, only 5 minutes off the interstate. We drive out of our way (over an hour) when visiting family in the area just to make sure Peanut gets time with Shantalee!!
John was amazing! Super responsive, even to a last-minute/ day-of booking! He took wonderful care of our lil Roxy, and sent lots of updates and photos throughout the days, which we so appreciated :) She’s 15 years old and can sometimes be a little skiddish, but she took right to him and he made her feel right at home. He’s a great dog sitter and was very kind and caring, will definitely be booking with him again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
