“Jialin and John watched my new senior rescue Bianca for a long weekend and were so good to her! I was a little nervous since I had her less than a month and was still figuring out her unique behaviors and preferences but she was in great hands. We did a meet and greet beforehand and Boo-boo was a great host, sharing his home and parents. Jialin even taught Bianca a new trick that we have been working on back home. Bianca was sent home with a plastic baggie of some treats she liked to keep the good times going back home. I look forward to the next time Bianca can stay with them!”

“This was our first time boarding Charlie, safe to say everyone was nervous. But reading other reviews and then getting pictures and videos of him playing with the group helped us relax while on vacation! Thank you so much Maggie, will definitely be back!”

“Going out of the country for 5 days had me so nervous but Samantha provided plenty of updates with pictures and videos. My dog arrived home so calm and content. I will 100% be booking with Samantha in the future!”

“We have used Sheronda two times within the last couple of months. We have nothing but praise for her and her family as well as the care she has given to our Elly. She was also understanding when we had a medical emergency on our most recent trip. We love how many updates and pictures we get. You won't get a better dog sitter anywhere. We look forward to using her service again.”

“Kyle has care for my pup overnight, for anything from 1 night to 9 nights. She is amazing. My dog clearly loves her and is very comfortable each time I bring him. Kyle is extra communicative and shows my dog love in ways that go above and beyond. My pup and I find Kyle to be very trustworthy and safe. We really appreciate her.”

“Sylva, Mark and family were fantastic hosts for Rey. They provided great updates and pictures over the 4-night stay. Rey seemed to have a great time and made herself at home. I will definitely reach out to them again for our next trip.”

“Kimberly was so kind to take Toby my 19-lb Havenese dog very last minute! I have a bad wrist fracture and was not able to take care of him properly. She took such great care of him with only hours’ notice. I will definitely use her services again!”

“Kevinh was a phenomenal dog sitter. He was available last minute to watch our small dog. He took Kona on several long walks, send many pictures and regular updates. Great communication. Kona was extremely comfy and cared for ! I would 100% recommend Kevinh!”

“Kayla was amazing! She was great at communicating, sent loads of pictures of my happy dog (Lily), and was so accommodating when at the last minute I asked her to give Lily medicine twice a day during her stay. I really can’t recommend Kayla highly enough!”

“Very responsive. Provided updates and pictures. Theo enjoyed his time and received a ton of attention from Chris and Jia. When we're out of town again we will be reaching out.”

“Margaret took great care of our 2 dogs over the weekend in her home. She sent regular updates, photos and videos. Our dogs were very comfortable in her home and enjoyed plenty of outdoor time. We would definitely book another Rover sit again with Margaret.”
About: Over the course of my childhood my parents have been teaching me the proper way to care for not just people, but of course, our pets as well. After a while, tending to our pets was no longer so much a task for me as it was for my siblings. Taking care of and spending time with animals in general became something I still enjoy doing to this day, and as far as I know, will be one of my favorite things to do forever. With over 10 years of experience caring for pets of all shapes and sizes, you can feel confident in my professionalism and knowledge of what would be in your pet’s best interest. I want to go beyond just keeping your animal’s needs met but to make sure they feel happy and comfortable at all times.
“Our dog Seba had a great stay with Patrick & Sara. Long walks and lots of play time! Patrick was super responsive and sent us many updates throughout our trip which really nice to receive.”

“My husband and I needed someone to watch our 9 year old Golden Retriever - Last Minute!! We were so lucky we found Rima! Rocco was well taken care of and Loved!! I highly recommend Rima!”

“Cong is a gem!! She accommodated our dog, Piper, as a last-minute guest, and sent us photos and videos throughout the stay. Our dog goes on mini hunger strikes when she is away from us, but Cong went above and beyond to makes sure that this didn't happen. We are grateful to have found such a wonderful sitter for Piper!”
“Natthinee took great care of Bowser. Every day she messaged me how he was doing and sent me lots of photos. The communication was great! It helped me feel comfortable leaving Bowser for so many days. I’d definitely use Natthinee again to watch Bowser.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Delmar
Our little dog, Riley, had a great time with Marisa and the other dogs staying there at the same time. When we picked him up he was full of energy but when we got him in the car he looked back at the house like he didn't want to leave. Marisa was very helpful with updates on Riley when we asked her.

We introduced our dog Kahlua to Alison one month prior to his three night stay. Kahlua explored the house and yard and approved. Upon dropping Kahlua off for his stay, we were greeted by another dog and which they got along fine. We were a little uneasy leaving him, but Alison sent pictures and short videos which put our mind at ease. Alison was very friendly and Kahlua got along with her well. Will definitely use her in the future.

Alyson provided the perfect home away from home for my pup. She was very flexible in terms of logistics, which was very much appreciated given my recent luck in terms of flight delays and cancellations. She sent regular photos of my little doggie on lots of walks, and I know that everyone had a great time. Plus the resident kitties were very chill - no problems at all and I'd definitely rebook!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
