About: I volunteered at animal shelters during high school and undergraduate, providing care to dogs and cats. I also participated in a training program for the dogs in the shelters, making them more adoptable. I am currently back in my hometown, about to move out of state for school, so while I am here, your pet is 100% my top priority! I have been surrounded by animals my entire life and will make sure they are happy and healthy while you are away. I will make sure they are fed, played with, and loved!

“Corina was absolutely wonderful with my dog Cooper. She stayed at my house while I was out of town and it was actually cleaner when I got back than it was when I left! She took him for walks daily, played fetch and spoiled him with pup cups. She made my trip so stress-free I can’t thank her enough!”

“Shannon was personable, responsive and attentive to detail. Shannon sent pictures so we knew how our little guy was doing and left our home clean and tidy. We will definitely be using her again.”

About: I’ve always been around animals ever since I was little- horses, goats, chickens, cats, dogs- you name it! I love animals and taking care of them. The company of a set of paws is one of the most comforting and rewarding things. I know how much a bond between a pet parent and pet means, and will go above and beyond to make sure an owner is content when away from their fluffy family member. I promise to ensure peace of mind that they are cared for and happy, whether it’s a wagging tail or a purring tummy. I’ve been pet-sitting and walking for my neighbors since I was young, and care for each pet as if it were my very own. I’m currently almost entirely available! Any walks or home check in times needed, I can do them! I’m happy to go for morning and evening strolls with a pup, or check in on a kitty a time a day or more to make sure your fur baby is happy and healthy. I care for clients’ pets by walking their dogs, feeding pets, administering medication such as flea medication, cleaning litter boxes and lawns, and more as required.
About: Very well, experienced in dog training techniques, pet store etiquette, a variety of small pet needs, as well as, infant, elderly & service animal special care. I’m an early riser with a balanced indoor/ outdoor schedule- perfect for animal health. Mornings & afternoon exercise play a large part in my active lifestyle here, too! This property also sits across the street from several beautiful trails that I explore frequently, though, our personal wooded acreage is welcomed to furry guests, too. We have two cats that are very friendly & open to other company, though can easily be separated depending on your personal needs. We also offer spare rooms to customize for their temporary stay. Wind-down times are in place before bedtimes, though there’s rarely been an animal that wasn’t exhausted after a good day here!
“Hannah did a great job with our girls. She followed the schedule. Sent pics throughout the day and you could tell that they were well cared for. We came home to the house as we left it, and she even washed the sheets and brought in the garbage cans from the road.”

“We have never left Rumba alone overnight with anyone else before, so it was a breath of fresh air seeing that he did amazing with McKenna and we were able to go out of town! They got along perfectly and will definitely be asking her to hang out with Rumba again! 🐾”
“Just like last time, Regena did a fantastic job! She was communicative, sent pictures, and took amazing care of Hilda and our house. I fully appreciate everything she did for Hilda and us.”

“Briana is fantastic! Communicative, responsible, and sends lots of photos! She follows directions to a T and asks for clarification when needed. Would absolutely recommend and will be asking her for dog care help in the future.”

“Gloria has once again taken wonderful care of my babies, one of whom currently has special medical needs. When they are in her care I feel confident they will get plenty of TLC and I am given regular updates which are much appreciated!”
“Chandler is great with our two dogs! I would highly recommend him. He also sent me videos everyday and was easy to communicate with. We will definitely use him again! It was nice for our dogs to be able to stay at their own home!”

“This was our first overnight with Courtney. She did really well with Lily, who has some separation anxiety. She took her on a few walks and Lily seemed to enjoy herself. Elaine is pretty social and did very well. She took very good care of them. I definitely want her to sit for us again in the future.”

“Hanna did a wonderful job taking care of my dog and two cats over the weekend. She came over multiple times to let my elderly dog out to prevent accidents, took her on walks, played with my kitties, watered my plants outside, and even picked up a new container of treats for my kitties since they were running out. Will definitely book again!”

About: I have hands‑on experience caring for both cats and dogs with a wide range of personalities, routines, and needs. My approach is calm, observant, and patient — I let each pet set the pace and make sure they feel safe and comfortable from the moment I arrive. For cats, I’m especially familiar with senior care, mobility challenges, and monitoring litter box habits. I’m comfortable supporting shy or anxious cats, administering oral medications, and keeping a clean, low‑stress environment. I also have light medical experience specifically with cats like giving prescription injections and giving subcutaneous fluids when needed and directed by a vet. For dogs, I’m experienced with structured routines, leash handling, feeding schedules, and reading body language to keep walks and visits smooth and positive. I’m attentive to energy levels, comfort cues, and any changes in behavior. I have an enclosed backyard for outside time if they like, and a great walking path in the neighborhood for walks. I’m reliable, detail‑oriented, and committed to giving every pet the same level of care and respect I give my own. You’ll receive clear updates, honest communication, and photos so you always know how your pet is doing while you’re away. Whether your pet is playful, independent, senior, or needs a little extra support, I’m here to provide steady, worry‑free care tailored to their needs. I am very flexible when it comes to scheduling. I can be available for full time or part time, one time or several. Just talk to me about my availability I provide calm, attentive, and safety‑focused care whether I’m visiting your home or welcoming your pet into mine. My goal is always to create a predictable, low‑stress environment where your pet feels secure and understood. In your home: I follow your routines exactly as you describe them, feeding schedules, walking routes, litter box setup, household rules, and any special instructions. I keep doors and gates secured, double‑check that pets can’t slip out, and maintain a clean environment throughout each visit. I pay close attention to behavior, appetite, and comfort so I can spot changes early and communicate them to you. For cats: I move slowly, respect boundaries, and let them approach on their terms. I’m experienced with senior cats, mobility challenges, and monitoring litter box habits. I keep their space tidy, refresh water and food carefully, and maintain a calm atmosphere that helps shy or anxious cats feel safe. For dogs: I use steady, confident leash handling, stick to familiar walking routes, and avoid overstimulation. I watch body language closely, support positive behavior, and make sure they get the right balance of exercise, structure, and comfort. Safety is always the priority, secure harnesses, controlled entrances/exits, and mindful interactions. Communication & trust: You’ll receive clear updates, honest notes, and photos every visit, so you always know how your pet is doing. I treat every pet with the same care and respect I give my own, and I work to make each visit predictable, safe, and worry‑free.
About: I have had a dog since I was born. I started caring for my dog by the age of five. Then, I did overnights with a diabetic dog, with whom I had to administer medicine. Now, I have two dogs of my own who are very special. I currently work from home, so pet care fits in seamlessly with my routine. I also have a fenced-in yard, so potty breaks can be taken frequently. I am very attentive with care for pets in my home, and I’m my clients home. I always ensure there is fresh food and water. I make sure they have toys or chew toys to keep them occupied. I am always available to take time to play, and go on potty breaks.

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, so caring for them comes naturally to me. I understand that every dog has a different personality, routine, and needs, and I take the time to make them feel comfortable and cared for. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone, so I’ll treat your dog with the same patience, attention, and love I’d want for my own. I’m a college student who works part-time, and pet sitting fits perfectly into my schedule. I’m available Wednesday through Sunday and make sure every pet gets the time, attention, and care they deserve. I enjoy staying active, so walks, playtime, and sticking to your dog’s routine are something I genuinely look forward to. I care for pets by keeping them comfortable, safe, and on their normal routine. In my clients’ homes, I follow feeding schedules, provide walks, playtime, and plenty of attention, and make sure your pet feels secure while you’re away. I also keep the space clean and send regular updates and photos so you know your pet is happy and well cared for.

I work from home giving be a flexible schedule and allowing me to be extra attentive to your fur baby’s need. However, I’m also very active and adventurous giving them the perfect balance of play and home time. Your home, your rules. I will definitely be asking Makenna to sit again! She took care of my house, dogs, cats and more for almost a week while I was on a trip out of state. Always Knowing that everything at home was in good hands was a very big relief and made my trip even that much better. Thank you Makenna!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Redding walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Redding maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Redding choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
