“Gloria was a very kind and attentive sitter and my dogs loved her immediately. I appreciated her frequent updates and photos. I felt very comfortable that they were being given excellent care while I was away. I highly recommend ❤️”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals—dogs, cats, and even farm animals—so caring for pets is truly a passion of mine. I understand the needs and personalities of different animals, and I love giving them attention, care, and affection. I’m responsible, dependable, and have reliable transportation, so you can count on me to be on time and keep your pets happy and safe while you’re away. I have experience with puppies, senior dogs, and disabled dogs as well. I have a senior Siberian Husky with hip dysplasia so i have learned to administer medication and provide special care to those pups who need it. I have raised a whole litter of puppies as well so i am experienced in potty and crate training too! I have never lived without a pup in my home and i love every bit of being a dog mom! Pet care fits seamlessly into my weekly routine because I work a flexible part-time job at Dutch Bros, which allows me plenty of time to walk, feed, and give attention to pets consistently throughout the day on weekdays and weekends. I am typically available everyday of the week besides mondays. When i am working i usually get off no later than 6pm so i am very open to overnight stays as well! Due to this flexibility i am open to last minute bookings! I visit pets in their own homes, following each owner’s instructions to keep them happy and comfortable. When in your home I would love to take your fur babies for walks, to dog parks, any anything you already do with them to make them the most comfortable! You can count on me to respect your home and maintain your pets’ usual routines.

“Shannon took wonderful care of our 2 doodles and all my husband's tree babies for 11 days. We appreciate the pictures and all the care she provided. She dealt with a leaking hose and fixed a circuit in the garage that save 2 freezers full of food. I would highly recommend Shannon to watch your pets and home.”

“I had a great experience with Makenna taking care of our dog, cats, fish and our home. She made sure to give updates and I felt comfortable knowing our pets were in good hands. Thank you Makenna! I will definitely rebook with you!”

“Corina was absolutely wonderful with my dog Cooper. She stayed at my house while I was out of town and it was actually cleaner when I got back than it was when I left! She took him for walks daily, played fetch and spoiled him with pup cups. She made my trip so stress-free I can’t thank her enough!”

“My little chihuahua warmed up to Regena so quickly. She made him feel comfortable and cared for in his own home. She provided daily updates that I appreciated and put me at ease while I was away. I will definitely be rebooking her in the future and highly recommend her.”

“Hanna did a wonderful job taking care of my dog and two cats over the weekend. She came over multiple times to let my elderly dog out to prevent accidents, took her on walks, played with my kitties, watered my plants outside, and even picked up a new container of treats for my kitties since they were running out. Will definitely book again!”

“Chandler is great with our two dogs! I would highly recommend him. He also sent me videos everyday and was easy to communicate with. We will definitely use him again! It was nice for our dogs to be able to stay at their own home!”

“Jeanette did an outstanding job watching my dog Cooper. She always updated me if anything was out of the norm. Sent pics oh him as well.Highly recommend her to watch h your fur baby. I will be using her again in the future.”

About: Very well, experienced in dog training techniques, pet store etiquette, a variety of small pet needs, as well as, infant, elderly & service animal special care. I’m an early riser with a balanced indoor/ outdoor schedule- perfect for animal health. Mornings & afternoon exercise play a large part in my active lifestyle here, too! This property also sits across the street from several beautiful trails that I explore frequently, though, our personal wooded acreage is welcomed to furry guests, too. We have two cats that are very friendly & open to other company, though can easily be separated depending on your personal needs. We also offer spare rooms to customize for their temporary stay. Wind-down times are in place before bedtimes, though there’s rarely been an animal that wasn’t exhausted after a good day here!
About: Been raised around cats, dogs, and farm atmosphere my whole life, raised my first dog at 8 years old. Have been watching pets for friends, family, and acquaintances for almost a decade. I can watch any day of the week, Monday - Friday I can’t stay all day. I have no problem with being at the house for majority of the day. I live on a 5 acre land with plenty of space for pets to roam. There is also BLM land right behind the house with a trail by the creek to walk. Along with a spacious home. When house sitting I stay with the pets according to rules and instructions set by the owner.

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, so caring for them comes naturally to me. I understand that every dog has a different personality, routine, and needs, and I take the time to make them feel comfortable and cared for. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone, so I’ll treat your dog with the same patience, attention, and love I’d want for my own. I’m a college student who works part-time, and pet sitting fits perfectly into my schedule. I’m available Wednesday through Sunday and make sure every pet gets the time, attention, and care they deserve. I enjoy staying active, so walks, playtime, and sticking to your dog’s routine are something I genuinely look forward to. I care for pets by keeping them comfortable, safe, and on their normal routine. In my clients’ homes, I follow feeding schedules, provide walks, playtime, and plenty of attention, and make sure your pet feels secure while you’re away. I also keep the space clean and send regular updates and photos so you know your pet is happy and well cared for.
About: I have had a dog since I was born. I started caring for my dog by the age of five. Then, I did overnights with a diabetic dog, with whom I had to administer medicine. Now, I have two dogs of my own who are very special. I currently work from home, so pet care fits in seamlessly with my routine. I also have a fenced-in yard, so potty breaks can be taken frequently. I am very attentive with care for pets in my home, and I’m my clients home. I always ensure there is fresh food and water. I make sure they have toys or chew toys to keep them occupied. I am always available to take time to play, and go on potty breaks.

About: I have been hired to take care of dogs and other animals since I was ten years old. I’m very intuitive and observant about what the pet needs. I’ve done everything from train puppies to rescue old dogs. I’ve even had clients requesting me to fly to a different state to care for their dogs while they’re away. I work from home giving be a flexible schedule and allowing me to be extra attentive to your fur baby’s need. However, I’m also very active and adventurous giving them the perfect balance of play and home time. Your home, your rules. I will learn the specific ways that you train or keep your pet and make sure that nothing falls short during my time there.
“This was our first overnight with Courtney. She did really well with Lily, who has some separation anxiety. She took her on a few walks and Lily seemed to enjoy herself. Elaine is pretty social and did very well. She took very good care of them. I definitely want her to sit for us again in the future.”

About: I grew up with dogs. I have been living in a house now with 4 Shih Tzus ranging from 1.5 years old up to 16. I've gone through potty training all the way to eye drops. I am also owned by 5 cats so I am well versed in litter boxes and finicky eaters. I work full time Saturday through Wednesdays from 7am to 3pm. My housemate and partner works Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. There is almost always someone home to take care of the dogs. It is no issue for me to stop by before and after work for potties and so on. I am pretty much a low key person so hanging with the fur kids is about as exciting as I get. When I am sitting in someone's house I like to spend time with the pet. I make sure that when I leave the house I secure the doors, windows, etc. I am respectful of belongings and space. I like to make the fur kids feel like nothing is all that different as much as possible. If I'm just dropping in for walks/potty time I like to spend time with them for their comfort and stimulation. I'll make sure water is refreshed and food is full and boxes are emptied.
“Ashley was great! We reached out to her last minute to come sit with our pup at our hotel while we went to dinner. She responded right away! Our pup was well taken care of and even got a walk in. We appreciated Ashley’s flexibility and willingness to hang out on our hotel room.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Mountain Gate
Jeanette, did a great job with our 2 dogs and 2 cats. This is the first time I hired a house sitter who I didn’t already know and was nervous about the prospect. From the start, Jeanette was professional and kind, and she was very engaging with our pets. She has plenty of background experience with small animal care and she managed everything really well. We came home to happy pets and a clean home.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 128 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Mountain Gate. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mountain Gate walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mountain Gate maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mountain Gate choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mountain Gate. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
