“Kristin is a great choice for a dog walker. She is nice and very trustworthy. I feel completely safe with her combining my home when I’m at work and she takes great care of my dogs. She brought them treats and takes great photos of them while she’s here to show me that they are taken care of. I’m so glad that I found her on here.”

About: I grew up on a farm in the mountains. It introduced my love and experience for animals and the immense gratification involved. Since moving away I have took in many animals both to do my part personally in my home and giving the opportunity for others to have the same by rehabbing, sheltering and finding their forever homes. It has always been my dream to open a shelter, or even more fun a cat cafe. I am excited for the opportunity to share my love with your furbabies and am appreciative for the consideration. I am an entrepreneur from home so my schedule is very open. I am aware how hectic life can be and hope to take some of that weight off your shoulders. My cats are spoiled rotten. They are given wet food once a day on top of their dry food. They have their own room full of windows, an electric litter box and a door to their massive catio outside. As well as access to the rest of the home as given. They are given medications as needed and I use Dutch vet service to assist in staying on top of their general health. When it comes to your animals I will offer the same love and attention as I give mine while following the regimens given. As far as watching your animals in my home it will vary according to the needs and comfort of the animals I am watching.

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, so caring for them comes naturally to me. I understand that every dog has a different personality, routine, and needs, and I take the time to make them feel comfortable and cared for. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone, so I’ll treat your dog with the same patience, attention, and love I’d want for my own. I’m a college student who works part-time, and pet sitting fits perfectly into my schedule. I’m available Wednesday through Sunday and make sure every pet gets the time, attention, and care they deserve. I enjoy staying active, so walks, playtime, and sticking to your dog’s routine are something I genuinely look forward to. I care for pets by keeping them comfortable, safe, and on their normal routine. In my clients’ homes, I follow feeding schedules, provide walks, playtime, and plenty of attention, and make sure your pet feels secure while you’re away. I also keep the space clean and send regular updates and photos so you know your pet is happy and well cared for.

I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime, keeping pets on their normal routines, and providing plenty of companionship and attention. I understand how important consistency and patience are, especially when a pet is in a new environment or away from their family. I’m happy to follow your pet’s routine and any specific instructions you provide, because I know every pet is different. My goal is to give you peace of mind while you’re away and to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I’ll treat your pets with the same patience, kindness, and respect I give my own. I can’t wait to meet your furry family members! 🐶🐱🤎 I work remotely, so I have a flexible schedule and am happy to welcome your furry friends into my routine. About: Hi, I’m Ariyana! Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was raised around both dogs and cats, and caring for them isn’t just something I do—it’s something I genuinely love. Every pet deserves to feel safe, loved, and comfortable, and I treat every animal in my care as if they were my own. One thing that sets me apart is my experience with pets of all ages. I enjoy working with puppies and kittens, helping reinforce good manners, basic obedience, potty training, leash skills, and positive routines. I understand that young pets require patience, consistency, and lots of encouragement, and I love being part of their learning process. I also have extensive experience caring for senior pets. I’m comfortable with slower walks, administering medications (if needed), accommodating mobility limitations, following special feeding schedules, and giving older pets the extra patience, gentleness, and attention they deserve. I know how important it is to keep their routine consistent and stress-free. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or calm and cuddly, I’ll tailor my care to their individual personality and needs. I’ll make sure they receive plenty of exercise, enrichment, affection, and one-on-one attention while you’re away. Communication is incredibly important to me. I’ll keep you updated with photos, videos, and messages so you always know how your furry family member is doing. My goal is for you to have complete peace of mind, knowing your pet is safe, happy, and genuinely cared for. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. I strive to build lasting relationships with both pets and their owners by being dependable, attentive, and treating every animal like family. I can’t wait to meet you and your best friend! Although I work full-time, I make pet care a priority in my daily routine. I carefully manage my schedule to ensure every pet receives the time, attention, exercise, and affection they deserve. Whether it’s morning visits, evening care, overnight stays, or weekend availability, I’m committed to providing reliable, high-quality care. When your pet is with me, they’ll never feel like just another appointment—they’ll be treated like family. When caring for pets in your home, I know how important it is to keep their routine as normal as possible. I’ll follow your instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, playtime, potty breaks, and any special care your pet needs. I also make sure your pet receives plenty of love, attention, and companionship while you’re away. I’ll respect your home as if it were my own by keeping everything clean, secure, and tidy. You’ll receive regular photo and video updates so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for. My goal is to provide dependable, stress-free care while making your pet feel comfortable in the place they know best.

About: Hi I'm Jeanette. I've owned and cared for animals my entire life. I've taken care of many animals for friends and family over the years. I've owned many different kinds of animals from dogs and cats to birds, reptiles and everything in between. I currently have 2 dogs and 2 cats that keep me busy. I've work with animals for the past 18 years. I worked at a vet clinic where I got to take care of many different types of animals. I've also been a dog groomer for the last 18 years. I've worked at a doggy daycare where I got to take care of senior pets and administer medication when needed. Making your fur babies comfortable and happy while your away is what I do best. If they are happy then I'm happy. Hope to hear from you soon. I'm currently not working at the moment so my schedule is pretty open to anything right now. Let me know what dates and times you need me and we can definitely work something out. I'll make sure your pet stays safe while in my care. I will keep a close eye on your pet if they have special need or are a senior pet. While in there own environment I'll make sure they are very comfortable. Throwing a ball or giving a treat, it's the little things while your away.

About: I have had a dog since I was born. I started caring for my dog by the age of five. Then, I did overnights with a diabetic dog, with whom I had to administer medicine. Now, I have two dogs of my own who are very special. I currently work from home, so pet care fits in seamlessly with my routine. I also have a fenced-in yard, so potty breaks can be taken frequently. I am very attentive with care for pets in my home, and I’m my clients home. I always ensure there is fresh food and water. I make sure they have toys or chew toys to keep them occupied. I am always available to take time to play, and go on potty breaks.

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Mountain Gate

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
