“Hercules had the time of his life playing with Bananas, the Corgi, lounging on the couch, and playing tug of war. Caroline and Alena provided a home away from home with love, play time, and hugs. Thank you!”

She made the entire process seamless with incredibly easy drop-off and pick-up routines. While I was away, she was highly responsive to messages and regularly sent wonderful picture updates, which gave me total peace of mind. “Seriously goes above and beyond. I was worried about booking a place outside of Rapid just for easy drop off/pick up but she made it easy for us meeting us near the interstate. My dog had the time of her life running on several acres, jumping in the pond and playing with their dogs. It’s a dog’s dream.”

“Linda is absolutely amazing! It’s always tough leaving your dog behind, but she made it so easy and gave us total peace of mind while we were away. She is super reliable and treated him like family—honestly, I think our pup was a little sad to come home because he was spoiled with so much love and attention! It is such a relief finding a sitter you can completely trust. Highly recommend her, 5 stars!”

“Brittany gave AMAZING care for our two pugs! Between the daily pictures and very happy demeanor of the dogs when they picked them up, it was obvious that they were well cared for!”

“Talon watched our pup for us on short notice while we were camping in the Black Hills. She kept us updated with photos and did a wonderful job easing his anxiety. We definitely use Talon again if we find ourselves in the Black Hills in the future!”

“I recently left my 2 yo dog, Wilson, in the care of Hector and his sister for 10 days while I was traveling abroad, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! Hector provided good care, love and attention. I received regular updates and pictures, which gave me peace of mind while I was overseas. It's clear that Hector and his family are true dog lovers, and I highly recommend his service to anyone in need of a reliable and caring host. 5 stars ⭐️!”

About: I'm an active gal who loves the companionship of a pooch while out and about. I love taking dogs on long walks or hikes through the woods or just down the city blocks for a quick leg stretch (and a bathroom stop). I'll be attentive to the needs of your dog, making sure they get plenty of activity, are well hydrated, and fed appropriately. While I don't have a dog of my own currently, I was a dog walker when I lived in New York City and I volunteered for two years with Border Paws Rescue in Rapid City caring for 5 - 10 pups for their pre-bedtime outings. I'm comfortable working with and providing a safe environment for the most goofy and social as well as the most solo and independent pups. I'm happy to accommodate any special needs you and your pup may have. I'm prompt and reliable. I hope to meet you and your pup soon! I work full time, but have flexibility to do bathroom breaks over lunch for kiddos that need more frequent outings. I can take pups on walks in the morning or evening depending on their activity needs. I have a small fenced in yard that is available for outside hangs. I am patient and kind and love to meet the needs of each pup where they are at. I have volunteered in a rescue and am comfortable around dogs of different temperaments.
“Gianna took great care of my dog, Piper. She sent frequent updates with a lot of pictures and Piper was in great spirits when I picked her up. I would definitely recommend Gianna!”

“Tammara was a great choice for taking care of my German shepherd while I was on vacation. She provided a friendly environment to interact with other dogs as well as a safe place to roam to stay physically actively. Very highly recommend.”

About: My daughter Trenna and I grew up with dogs and cats and we love all their different personalities and they bring so much joy to our lives. When you get a dog it’s a commitment. They are our kids. I am looking for a partime job. What a fun opportunity to do something I love. I have three dogs/kids myself. I can’t wait to get home from work and. see their wiggly tails. They don’t care what kind of day you just had, they just want to love on you. When I am home they are wherever I am. During the day they are in their kennels. Two of them are not even 2 yet so they like their toys.
“Jaiden was so great and welcoming to Loki! She was so nice and sent adorable pictures. Loki got along well with her dog, and came back happy and tired. We are just traveling through, but would definitely use her again if we are in the area!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Rapid City
Melissa watched our dog for us for 2 weeks while we were out of town. Our dog is really nervous, but she was very understanding and patient with him. Her dog is incredibly sweet and was really good with our dog. When we picked our dog up he was very happy to see us, but was obviously very comfortable and settled in as well. We will definitely use Melissa again whenever we need a sitter!

Joe- did a great job with Jack! He sent lots of pics and kept me updated on how things were going. I would highly recommend him for your pet. He was very flexible as I was just traveling through the area and needed a sitter. It worked out perfectly for me and for Jack.

Many sitters in SD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
