“We were extremely pleased with the diligent care Monica provided for our 4-year-old Miniature Australian Shepherd. She did an excellent job not only watching Jaco, but also taking great care of our home while we were away. It gave us real peace of mind knowing everything was in such good hands. We would absolutely use Monica again and highly recommend her to others.”

“Michelle did a great job! Ollie was well taken care of. She stayed at our house and left everything like she found it. I will definitely have her care for Ollie in the future.”

“Kelly was fantastic. Was happy to stay at my house with my two dogs and my bird the week of Christmas and take care of them all and my house. I would highly recommend her for house sitting or pet sitting.”

“Nicole did a great job taking care of our pack. She was very communicative with us. She sent pictures along the way and made sure all of our dogs were well taken care of. Left us some pictures when we got home as well to see how they did. Great experience and allowed us to enjoy our vacation stress free. Thanks!!”

About: Ive been around animals for a decent part of my life. I’ve grown fond of having animals around, with 3 of my own kitties. I’m very diligent and patient with all animals. I can handle pups that pull. I’m versatile and work with all breeds. I strive to satisfy not only you , but also your pups. I would love to be a part of your fur babies journey!! :) I am fully available and very flexible with scheduling. I’d love to grow in experience and gain the skills I need to best take care of your pets(Home Experience Not Professional) I’m always available to take a stroll, play, and hang out with your fur babies. I will do my best to keep them happy and let them sight see. Thank you for the opportunity. I will always respect your space and follow the directions you give me. I appreciate good communication so that I can give the best service.
“Madolyn did an amazing job with our fur babies! You can see how much she loves animals with the way she interacts and cares for them. I hired Madolyn to house sit and watch our dogs. She gave regular updates on the girls, and took such good care of our home. This turned out to be a fantastic outcome, and I recommend Madolyn to anyone looking for a caring, respectful, and trustworthy sitter. We will definitely have Madolyn back!!!!”

“She was really nice and very patient with one of my shy cats. She went above and beyond her job duties by picking up the cats’ food from the store and tidying up the space more neatly than it was left.”

About: I have ample space in my home to care and love your pet. As a dog owner myself, I have the necessary skills to care for your dog and give them the exercise and mental stimulation they need daily. My husband and I also foster dogs so we am very capable to handle new dogs in our home. He also works from home so your dog will always have someone around to care for them. I’d love to meet and have fun with your pet! I am currently working full-time but have ample time to play with your babies. I have no children except for my dog, so your pet will get a lot of attention. I am available for boarding anytime and walks or playtime after 3 pm. I have a fully fenced yard to keep your pups safe. And inside, i have plenty of room to play and I have crating options if needed or wanted.

“Jack did a great job with my two dogs. He quickly scheduled a meet and greet to discuss our house and what our dogs would need. One of my dogs is old, a little anxious and does not allow many people to pet him. Jack was very patient with him and by the end of the weekend, Rudi felt comfortable enough to let Jack pet him. Jack was also very responsive and sent several pictures of the dogs over the weekend. Everything in the house was also in good order when we returned from our weekend. I would highly recommend Jack for house and dog sitting.”

“She was exceptional with my baby, Molly. Molly is normally extremely slow to warm up to people but she immediately took to Genevieve. She kept me updated with pictures and texts, followed my instructions, and most of all kept my girl safe from a murderous wasp and loneliness while I rudely went on vacation without her. There’s nothing better than a cat sitter who loves your girl as much as you do.”

About: I’ve taken care of French bulldogs since I was 16 years old. I tend bond quickly with animals and have patience with animals that are aggressive or overly anxious. I’ve good with cats and dogs, as well as exotic pets like ferret's. I am currently working a full time job, and am also a college student dispite this I am quite good about time management. I care for my own cat and frequently help out with my sisters dogs that need to be walked and watched. When previously working for her I take the dogs for average of 3 walks one in the morning, then afternoon, then night. When it comes to pet care I will be able to do basically anything needed. If an animals needs to be put in the crate I am easily able to do so. If a pet were to get dirty I am good with cleaning if needed. I am a very determined individual who can cut stubborn animals nails if needed, but I also am good with animals who have issues. As I have experience with owning an aggressive dog myself.

I have three years of experience in dog sitting including house sitting for people with pets, dog walking, and playing with dogs, plus the joy of having a dog since I’ve been a baby. I am available multiple days throughout the week! I make sure pets are comfortable, safe, and happy when pet owners are away. I am good at following schedules, providing fresh water & food, taking them on walks, and making sure they get a lot of fun and love!
“This was the first time using Rover. I could not be more pleased with the individual we picked when we chose Josh!!! He was readily available. He kept in great communication with us throughout the entire process from booking to his departure after watching our pups. He cleaned up and left house clean and tidy. Even kept the pups safe during a tornado warning. Cannot wait to book again with Josh!”

About: I’ve been a devoted dog owner and animal lover for many years. My dog, Chase, was diagnosed with cancer at age 11, and I cared from him through the very end of his journey until he passed away at 12. Caring for him taught me patience, compassion, attention to detail, and the importance of treating every pet like family. In addition to caring for Chase, I’ve pet sat for family and friends for years, with many dogs staying in my home for two weeks or more at a time. I understand that every pet has unique routines, personalities and needs, and I take the time to make them feel comfortable, safe, and loved while their owners are away. Because I work from home, pets in my care are rarely left alone. On the occasional errand or appointment, I use pet cameras to keep an eye on them and ensure they’re safe and comfortable. Providing peace of mind for both pets and their owners is very important to me. My goal is simple: to treat your pet with the same love, attention, and care that I gave my own fur baby. Whether you’re looking for boarding, house sitting, drop-in visits, or walks, my goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I treat every animal in my care like family and look forward to meeting you and your furry friend! Why pet parents choose me: • Work from home, providing frequent supervision •Experience with extended pet stays •Comfortable following special routines and care instructions •Dedicated to keeping pets safe, comfortable, and loved •Regular updates and communication for owners •Treat every pet like family I work from home full-time, which gives me the flexibility to provide frequent attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. Pets in my care are rarely left alone and become part of my daily routine. I’m available for boarding, drop-in visits, and walks, and I do my best to accommodate each pet’s schedule, exercise needs, feeding routine, and personality. Whether your pet needs extra playtime, a midday walk, or simply a comforting presence, I am happy to help. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I understand that every pet has unique needs, routines, and preferences, and I will follow your care instructions closely. Because I work from home, I can monitor pets throughout the day and provide plenty of attention and companionship. On the rare occasion that I need to step out, I use pet cameras to keep an eye on them and ensure they remain safe and comfortable. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Racine
This was the first time our 14 year old dog was with anyone other than family and Monica did a great job sending updates and pictures/videos reassuring me he was doing well while we were gone. She wasn’t fazed at all by his picky feeding needs and made us feel confidant he was in good hands. 10/10 would use again and recommend to others!
Cat is fantastic - she has now stayed overnight with my dog for two long weekends. She genuinely loves dogs - sent me pictures of my dog doing the same cute things I take pictures of, and enjoyed getting to know his quirks. She is very detail oriented - one of the weekends my dog was getting a number of medications and she sent me messages confirming the administration and dosage each time. She also took good care of the house and tried to leave no trace - no big cleaning or reset required when I got home. Highly recommend!

Andrea was absolutely incredible! She stayed at my house with my dog, Leo, and I could not have asked for a better sitter. From the very beginning she was communicative, reliable, and so easy to work with. I got regular updates and photos, and Leo looked completely happy and spoiled the entire time. It’s such a rare comfort to leave your home and your dog in someone’s hands and feel zero stress — but that’s exactly what Andrea provides. She treated my house with respect, left everything spotless, and took care of Leo like he was her own. I came home to a happy dog, a tidy home, and total peace of mind. I’ll absolutely be booking with her again. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, caring, truly exceptional, and also just a cool girl, Andrea is the one!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Racine walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Racine maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Racine choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Racine. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
