About: I’ve worked with 6 small puppies, raised a springer spaniel and schnauzer, so I understand hyper breeds and terriers well. I’ve been dog sitting large dogs, and hairless cats. I have experience with high maintenance pets with special needs. I have a lot of patience for your big or little fur baby if it’s a puppy and I’m happy to help with exercise. I go on long hikes and take dogs when allowed on epic adventures for their mental and physical health ☺️🫶 I’m working on real estate properties and art projects so my availability is flexible. I have availability it adjust my schedule around the days I care for pets. I usually block out days where my time is fully committed on a pet or project I will walk regularly when home, happy to take to the dog park, help socialize and exercise. Depending on your dogs needs, I can easily accommodate.

About: I work at Camp Bow Wow as a camp counselor handling dogs of all sizes and energy levels. I am certified in Dog CPR, First aid, and Safety. I work morning shifts at Camp Bow Wow, so I get out at 1pm. I am looking to walk dogs after my shift as well as stop by for any feedings, tender love and care, or any help with medicine or boarding! I am handling dogs of all temperaments at Camp Bow Wow, I am thoroughly educated in body language and emotional responses in dogs. I also handle a lot of dogs who don’t like to be grabbed so I am confident in handling the nervous and snappy dogs as well.

I make sure they stay on their routine with feeding, walks, and playtime, and I always keep their environment clean and safe. I treat every pet like my own and make sure they feel comfortable while you’re away. I currently offer dog walking and have a flexible schedule. I’m available on weekdays and weekends, and I can adjust to your pet’s routine for walks, exercise, and quick check-ins. I’m reliable and make sure your dog gets the time, attention, and movement they need. I always put your dog’s safety first during walks. I stay aware of our surroundings, keep a secure leash, and follow your instructions so your dog feels comfortable and safe the whole time.
“Tanya was fantastic with my pup. I had never used rover before nor had I have someone stay at my house I didn’t know. She took good care of everything, communicated well and let me enjoy my vacation without worries. Best yet she gave my dog the extra attention she needed when she needed it. She is truly great with animals. Thank you Tanya.”

About: A few years back, I drove my brother’s dog across the country from CA to RI thats where dogsitting began for me. I have flown with a cat from FL to NJ. Now I try to stay stationary and watch dogs in their homes. I stay active and like to go on runs or walk the beach, hang out in the garden and play fetch in the yard. Would like to find dogs that I will watch again down the road. Most people that hire me that is the case, whether they are going on a weekend getaway or a two week trip Flexible with work, can manage on a day to day basis on what the pup(s) need. I am an early riser. I enjoy a walk in the morning. I will follow directions to what the owners say to do. Usually have a sense of the dogs behavior and needs. Following directions is my strong suit.

About: Hello! I’m Frankie! I grew up with three corgis and have always been a serious dog lover. I enjoy taking care of all dogs but have great experience with seniors and dogs with back issues. (My own dog has undergone back surgery for a slipped disc). I don’t mind lifting as needed and taking the extra time to care for older doggies. I am available from Monday through Friday from 7am-6:30pm. Weekends from 7am-3pm. I like to book overnight dog sitting at least 1 week in advance. *Can be flexible if needed. On top of daily walks I also dog sit for clients who need to go away for a couple of days to weeks at a time. I provide as many walks as needed, fix meals, administer medications, assist with lifting/stairs, and provide lots of attention.
“Lisa was great to work with. One of my dogs is protective of the house/yard and Lisa handled the situation well. Both of my dogs warmed up to her quickly and the updates she provided throughout the stay were comforting. I will definitely contact her again if I need a pet sitter.”

“Heidi was WONDERFUL! We were out of town for six days and she took such excellent care of my house and dogs! And she’s such a sweet person! She left me cookies and the sweetest note, it was a lovely treat after arriving home. She was super responsive to my checkins and sent pictures every day. It was such a relief not to have to worry about my babies while we were gone. I would absolutely book her again!”

About: I have three friendly dogs of my own and I have also attended a couple dog training lessons. Dogs are hands down my favorite animal! I have a lot of free time and dogs would make it more fun! I attend online college courses, so school and work are not an interference. I take my dogs at home on daily walks along a trail in my backyard, feed them twice a day, and I love playing with them!

About: I’ve had pets my whole life! I currently have three - two cats and one pit bull. I think daily enrichment, play, and attentive care is crucial for the quality of life of our animal friends, and I’d love to get to know yours. :) I am currently home from college with a completely open schedule. I have my own car and my work is freelance, so my schedule always works with yours. :) I’ve dealt with every aspect of animal companionship. I’m just as comfortable wrestling a collar onto big dogs that don’t know what’s best for them as I am intensionally giving skittish cats their own space. Let me know how I can best take care of your animal!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,436 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Prudence Island. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Prudence Island walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Prudence Island maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Prudence Island choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
